Whittier, North Carolina
*4WD/AWD recommended* A beautiful mountain cabin in Whittier, North Carolina. Has one queen bed in the loft, pull out couch and child bunk beds downstairs, a fully functioning kitchen, heat, board games and a Smart TV. Relax by the fire pit or on the large porch swings. Enjoy time in the Great Smoky Mountains where you can have peace and quiet or enjoy the local outdoor adventures. With hiking, rafting, tubing, boating, shopping nearby, this is the perfect location. A short drive from Bryson City, where you can shop, visit the local breweries, or partake in the outdoor activities at the Nantahala Outdoor Center (white water rafting, zip lining). Also a short drive from the history and culture of Cherokee. The Harrah's casino is close if you enjoy concerts, gambling, and restaurants. The area is full of activities that will suit everyone! All ages will fall in love with the quaint atmosphere of this getaway. Located about 60 miles from the Asheville Regional Airport and all that Asheville has to offer. The craft breweries and Biltmore Estate are some must see Asheville land marks!
**The cabin is off a gravel (unpaved) road, 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive recommended.
**We recommend you arrive during daylight hours.
**On the drive there is limited cell phone service due to the remote location. Wifi is available once at the cabin.
Had a great time!!
Beautiful cabin, i enjoyed every bit of the stay and would love to go back and stay again
The cabin is so awesome I could live there 24/7.the sitting is like picture you find in a book or magazine.we could not ask for anything more.we will diffently be back in the spring.thanks for sharing you great place with us.Monte and chrissy
Loved it
The cabin was clean, bedroom was in loft had to climb very steep and narrow stairs to get to it. Could not stand up had to crawl on hands and knees to get into bed. Slept downstairs on pullout couch bed. Road to cabin graveled with sharp turns. Culvert at bottom of roar needs to have a marker. Got my vehicle in it cost $150.00 to have wrecker pull it out. Cabin was clean but dimly lighted.
Wonderful cabin. Quiet and peaceful. They provide everything you might need. The porch/deck is great for sitting out and listening to the nearby creek. Has a BBQ grill, which is nice. The road up is rough, but not overly difficult. Surrounding area (Bryson City and Cherokee) is nice with lots to do. As with all VRBOs, the cleaning fee is too high, but besides that would definitely recommend. Glad I picked this cabin.
great host and this is a wonderful location
Great little cabin in the woods away from all the noise. As a family we very much enjoyed it.
Not the easiest road to get up if you’re not used to driving off-road. Gravel road, sharp turns and the driveway will require a 2-3 point turn at the bottom and top of you are in a full size truck. The cabin was great, don’t get me wrong, and worth the drive. Only issue we had was there’s not much hot water, and taking a small child that is used to baths was tough. The owner worked with us and was more than generous with us. Will be a great place to bookmark in the future when that’s not as big of an issue. Very clean, cozy, and simple.
My husband and I had wonderful time celebrating our 25th anniversary. We would definitely recommend. Be prepared for the road: 4 wheel or all wheel drive is a must.
Beautiful Property, the cabin was so cozy! The view is amazing! Well taken care of! My husband and I will be back!
Great quiet property. Just wish it had cable tv. Only dvds to watch was a little difficult but overall it is a great little place to get away. The sounds of waterfalls around was amazing
I had a wonderful time at the cabin. It is beautiful, peaceful and charming. There is even a creek across the street that you can hear from the front porch. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend a stay at this cabin!
We had a great time at this cabin! It is so beautiful and cozy. Perfectly off the beaten path which we love because we live out a ways, ourselves. Cabin was very clean, and we'll equipped with everything you'd need for a stay. The location was great and was far enough away, but close enough to still take a short drive and enjoy Cherokee and Bryson City. I would come back and stay here again, no hesitation.
We had a great time it is very quite and peaceful and the surrounding is beautiful with lots of nature to see.
Neighbor dogs barked all the time. We took a loud fan and still heard the dogs.
Everything was as in the description, a lovely cabin in the mountains! My friends and I really enjoyed the place and the atmosphere!
Over all it was great. The 2 big dogs down the road barked all the time and husband did not like that. We enjoyed our stay.
Working with Lauren was such a breeze. We were looking for a secluded place in the mountains to spend a few nights and that was exactly what we got. The cabin was quaint and homey and totally private. The access is definitely as it is described in the listing so be prepared. The cabin had everything we needed. We wish we could have stayed longer!
The host is great she had a birthday card and a bottle of wine waiting on us has I enter the cabin, what a beautiful way to start celebrating my birthday. The cabin was clean and we had a great time, we will definitely be back again. I will highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for some quite and peaceful time.
We loved our stay here! The cabin is super secluded, over a mile off a gravel road. The porch is an absolute dream with the porch swing & sound of the stream. This is the perfect spot to get away from the world! It’s just around a 20 minute drive to Bryson City which we visited a couple of times. The local restaurants were great and we loved our train ride on the GSMR.
My wife and I wanted to get away and celebrate our anniversary. The cabin was perfect, very clean. The cabin is remote and offered both peace and tranquility. Lauren is such a great host very responsive and made sure our stay was great. Thank you so much for the card and the bottle of wine! It made a great weekend even more special! Will definitely be back again!
Very very relaxing and clean he loved it
Favorites: The sound of creek water rushing by and the beautiful birdsongs. That front porch rocking chair. (We went and bought 2 in Bryson City!) Very comfortable bed. And, that fresh mountain spring water! Close enough to lots of activities but secluded enough for retreat. This was a wonderful place from start to finish!
We try to go to a different area in the NC mountains each spring. I picked the perfect place for us yet again! Nice area with plenty of close nearby places to visit and explore. We cooked breakfast and supper at the cabin and ate lunch out while exploring the area. Everything was just as advertised! Awesome place! Only downfall is the neighbors dogs they bark alot. The porch swing was awesome with the creek just below.
