Duck Creek Village, Utah

Two of the most important features of our cabin (in our opinion and why we purchased the cabin) is it's location on a dead end lane and the wonderful views of Duck Creek Village, meadow and surrounding mountains from the large deck. The roads can be dusty and the dead end lane is very quiet, secluded with very little dust. The views of the surrounding mountains, Duck Creek Village and sky are amazing. NOTE: Duck Creek Village is about 8500 feet above sea level.
The cabin is also very open and bright...when we looked at buying a cabin so many were dark and closed in. We wanted light and bright!
NO PETS....we have severe allergies.
Just after Thanksgiving we put up a lighted holiday tree and some tasteful holiday decor for our guests to enjoy (we get to enjoy it too…if we make it there during December).
2 bedrooms each with king beds and plush bedding
1 large full bath with tub/shower combo in between both bedrooms (separate access to bathroom), comfort height commode.
Queen plus sofa sleeper in large main living area. Unlike most sofa beds mattresses, two people can sleep comfortably side-by-side with no motion transfer. There is no gap between the mattress and back or arms and no parts of the mechanism are exposed, so it's safe for children.
Even though the cabin CAN sleep up to 6, we really feel our cabin is great for 2-4 people maximum and prefer to keep it that way :)
We lease our cabin nightly year-round. We do have professional snow removal for the driveway in the winter. The unpaved roads in the area are plowed and usually snow-packed as well but we do require you have a 4 wheel drive and chains just in case.
** Full Kitchen including full size refrigerator, oven, new full size above range/oven microwave (not in photos) that direct vents to the outside of cabin, portable dishwasher (needs to be attached to kitchen faucet to run). We do dishes by hand most the time.
** We have installed a new stainless/black stove/oven that is more versatile, better at cooking (not in photos yet)
** Coffee maker (#4 filter), mini Keurig machine, toaster, blender, large crock pot, waffle iron, plenty of dish ware, cookware, utensils and specialty cooking items too!
**Plenty of specialty adult beverage drinking items (stemware, openers etc.)
**55" Smart HDTV with Blue ray player and surround sound system. DISH satellite.
**Huge, beautiful wood burning stove with blower in large living area.
**Large deck with patio furniture and a large propane BBQ grill (propane tank can be exchanged at the Duck Creek True Value, if needed).
**Fire pit outside next to the cabin.....make s'mores, have a cocktail by the fire, look up at the stars! Plenty of chairs and space. Generally not available in winter as it is covered by snow!
**Garage under cabin for some storage (ATV, OHV, UTV, bikes etc.) not quite large enough for a car/truck.....great to work on ATVs, snowmobiles, bikes, skis etc.
**Exterior hose and faucet to clean your toys
**Full size washer and dryer in garage (under main portion of cabin, see photos)
**RV parking and plenty of space for vehicle parking.
**HIGH SPEED WiFi Internet, we get great service on our cell phones (Verizon, AT&T, T Mobile) at the cabin but very limited service on highway 14 (on your way to cabin)
**Plenty of games, books, puzzles, and area guide books, local literature and maps
**All one level living
**June 2021 we replaced our water heater with a larger and more efficient unit
We also added a new bathroom exhaust fan with SurfaceShield™ with Vyv™ antibacterial light technology It helps keep spaces cleaner. The fan quietly removes humidity from the room and destroys bacteria, mold and fungus with the flick of a switch.
We have 4 Envi High Efficiency whole room convection wall panel fan-less heaters for the bedrooms and main living area. They are SAFE for children, slim and silent (no fan). Heat in each bedroom and living area can be controlled separately.
We also have a mobile infrared room heater to help warm up the cabin while you start a fire or to use to replace the fire.
We have a small electric "fireplace" in the cabinet under the TV as well.
March 2021: we stayed at our cabin for 4 nights and did not need to start a fire in the wood stove. We were able to use the heaters in the cabin. Our wood stove is fabulous but sometimes I don’t want to smell the smoke!
Note: The cabin is very clean HOWEVER despite our best efforts to keep it clean; we do get cobwebs quickly (cleaning one day and webs the next). It is a cabin in the mountains! I rarely see spiders but I do see their webs.
Wildlife abounds here.....plenty of deer, birds, chipmunks, squirrels, crazy gaggles of wild turkeys rumble around our lot and surrounding vacant lot before taking flight to roost in the trees in front of our deck! They look like lumbering, heavy planes trying to get a running start to fly!

From the moment we arrived at the property, we could tell this was no ordinary cabin! It may be called a cabin, but you could see that the pride in ownership, made this a home! EVERYTHING about the cabin was way above any expectations we had. Any and everything from the furniture, to the silverware, to the Dish TV, to the deck, fire pit, and views, were way above anything we had expected. The feeling you get when you walk in the door, is hard to explain, but it's like you're walking in the home away from home you wish you always had...very comfortable, warm, and inviting. The area around Duck Creek has much to offer, and the sight of deer while you're sitting on the deck in the morning having your coffee, is a feeling everyone should experience. We only had one regret about staying at this cabin...we didn't stay long enough! Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable, relaxing, and unforgettable. We will definitely be staying again!
The property is awesome, very clean and cozy. If you are an early riser, sit on the back deck and watch the deer going down to water. They walk right behind the deck. We had 7 majestic bucks in full velvet walk through the property. The only negative is that the grill is in need of repair. We will definitely book this property again.
The property is great. No complaints. The village area is beautiful. Please drive careful as there were many deer and other wildlife along Hwy 14. For future renters, please understand, this area is remote. The restaurants are very limited and you cannot eat dinner out after 8:30 (latest is open until 9p). Closest city is over 30 mins away. If you are traveling to the parks and leaving after 8p, eat near the park as your options become more limited as you travel to the cabin. Absolutely loved the area, weather was awesome, skies are crystal clear and the cabin has everything you need for a great vacation. Southern Utah parks are stunning too.
Beautiful view from the deck makes this cabin a traveler's paradise. Located between Bryce and Zion, the hour trip to both seems short when you take in the beauty of the landscape and wildlife you'll see on the way. Also a short 35 min drive up mammoth creek road is Panguitch Lake, where there is usually some very good trout fishing. This cabin has all the comforts of home and Jennifer has done an exceptional job in giving it a cozy and warm feel, even at nearly 9000 ft. We live in southern California, so the mountain air and cool, clean tap water is a real treat to the senses.Loved this place!
We stayed 5 nights at this cabin during our two week vacation in the Nevada, Utah, Arizona region. It was wonderful to come home to a clean, comfortable place to relax after a day of sightseeing and hiking. The owner has gone above and beyond to supply this cabin with everything you would need during your stay. The kitchen is stocked with high quality cookware and a spice rack with abundant selection. There is everything, all the way down to clips for the chip bags. The bathroom (did not need to use the 1/2 bath) has first quality linens that you would expect in a 5 star hotel. There was even a little basket of personal sample items like deoderant, lotion, etc if you needed. The bedrooms are not large but the king size beds are, and oh so comfortable. It made it hard to get out of bed on those cool mountain mornings. I have to admit we got started a little later on a couple mornings due to this, but isn't that part of relaxing on vacation. Out on the deck you have a beautiful view of the valley. We were entertained by the chipmunks, squirrels, and hummingbirds. We also saw turkey, deer, and an assortment of other birds which we looked up in the books provided in the cabin. The cabin is in a good location to see Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Cedar Breaks. The drive on hwy 143 is very scenic as well with little traffic. I would reccomend this cabin to anyone that likes relaxing in quality comfort, and being close to the attractions, but away from the crowds. What a great experience.
I cannot say enough about this amazing cabin. We went for a weekender for our 1st anniversary. We were looking for something quiet, peaceful and in nature but not too rugged. This was the perfect choice. The cabin was welcoming and nicely furnished, making it a comfortable retreat after a long day of hiking. Breakfast on the deck with the humming birds and the faint chime of the church bells was the perfect way to start each day. The proximity to national parks and local lakes made the options endless for recreation. We spent a day hiking at Bryce Canyon and spent time at both Duck Creek and Navajo Lake. We rented ATVs at the village where you can also rent bikes or kayakes. Also located in the village was a convenience store, hardware store and cute shops. We cooked full meals in the completely stocked kitchen. And everything we could have needed was provided. The bedding was very comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets if needed. The large bathroom was full sized with tub and shower with very nice towels. We spent our nights either under the stars by the fire pit or next to the fire place. With wifi, Netflix and dish network we still felt connected when we wanted to be. We had all the comforts of home but with better views and less traffic. We loved every minute of it.
