Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This review is in no way meant to take away from the fact that my family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. We really enjoyed the amenities that were functioning, and overall the cabin is beautiful and well maintained. Our problem was that several amenities that were supposed to be included did not function properly during our stay. The hot tub did not work, the projector in the room with the swimming pool did not work, which meant that there was no theater room as promised. They also do not provide firewood but include photos of chopped firewood with the fire pit. I had the same issue with photos, not matching with what is currently there at the cabin when it came to the game room. There are no air hockey tables, this was a little misleading, but not a huge deal . Again, this review will seem negative, but as mentioned in the subject, I do believe this cabin could be the absolute dream if proper maintenance is done regularly and amenities are triple checked prior to someone checking in. Overall, we had a wonderful time here because we were able to spend time together as a family and enjoy things like the putt putt course and the fire pit once we figured out the firewood. I definitely recommend it, just make sure those amenities are working before you check in.

If we noticed something needed maintenance, the office was quick to getting back to us. One thing I would recommend to the owners/company, the king size beds should be replaced. Something feels broken on the left side of bed on main floor. And upstairs bed is not attached properly.

It’s a one bedroom with an open loft. There is no privacy in the loft as the road goes up hill and people passing by can see into the windows. One of the windows didn’t even have blinds. There is no door so anyone who walks upstairs walks up to the sink/shower area and the bed. You can also see the bed from the living room. Secondly this cabin was not maintained very well. The hot tub didn’t work, there’s mold on the A/C vents, the putt putt golf course was partially covered with rocks and debris, and the HDMI cable used to make the entertainment system work was too corroded to use. Finally this place is loud. You can hear people talking downstairs in the basement up on the third floor.

Especially after a large mama black bear and 2 cubs came to our cabin door we couldn't get them to go outside. However, the cabin needs to be deep cleaned, some things need to be replaced or repaired and we didn't enjoy the put put or fire pit because of the close proximity to the woods (fear of bears).

We loved our stay at Poolin Around. The property was beautiful and peaceful. There are neighbors around but total privacy in the back of the house. The spa pool was awesome! We’ve never experienced one like it. The kitchen was well equipped and full size washer/dryer was a huge plus. We had a few minor issues when we got to the house but Elk Springs was very helpful and Adam was out within 30 minutes to address them. Check in/out process was super easy as well. Overall, we would recommend Elk Springs and Poolin Around to anyone looking to stay in the area! A bear visit was an added bonus!!

We did have some cleaning issues - edge of pool (above water) was grimy, found hair in shower drain cover (not ours). Phone in cabin never worked (bedroom handset didn’t even have a battery) - wouldn’t have minded but we didn’t have cell service in cabin. Suggestions - put a chair in bedrooms, put at least one clock on wall, put a throw blanket in living room area, add a footstool for living room chair, and pool water was a bit too warm for my taste - almost felt like a hot tub. The flood light on the house across the road shines into the cabin at night so, despite the blinds being closed, there was a fair bit of light in the bedroom loft area at night. We reported some issues but ultimately nothing changed. Kitchen was well-stocked with equipment, pool was nice even if too warm (I didn’t ask them to make it cooler, so that might have been corrected had I asked), plenty of towels provided even for pool.

Minor issues with lightbulbs being out, nothing crazy. Beds were the most comfortable we ever slept on. Would definitely stay here or at Elk Springs Resort again.
