Location! Location! 'Bear Pause' offers gorgeous mountain views of the Smokies in the prestigious, gated Sherwood Forest Resort. Situated between Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg and close to all the action, but far enough away that you feel like you're in the mountains. You get the best of both worlds and convenient access to Dollywood, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, shopping, and restaurants.
We had party of 6 adults and 3 children (11, 8, and 10 mos); the cabin was able to satisfy all our needs. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. Cabin was not in a busy part of town-central location to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Because of location you are able to maneuver around a majority of the main highway to go places. Communication with owner during stay was very quick. Best part of the trip--we got to see Dolly in Dollywood!
We had 9 people on our trip and had plenty of space! (5 adults, 3 kids and a baby). Great cabin, clean, well furnished. The master suite upstairs had lots of room to set up a pack and play in the corner. There were plenty of baby gates behind the couch and a restaurant style high chair that slid up to the table height perfectly. The cabin was “starter” furnished with paper towels, TP, soaps, etc and while we brought extra of everything, the only things we had to use ours of was dishwasher pods and laundry soap, and one roll of TP. Water pressure wasn’t super strong, but was still totally useable. The front view of the cabin wasn’t much (parking area and 2 other cabins) but the view form the back deck was very secluded and nice! Check in was a breeze, we got a key code and gate code the day before we arrived. No stopping at an office or waiting for someone. Would definitely recommend, and hope to stay here again!
Mark was a great host with impeccable communication and the easiest check-in ever! The cabin is great with plenty of beds, hot tub, theatre room, bar, pool table and multiple decks! Everything we needed was there and it was a great cabin for our family to explore Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountains National Park. There's also a community pool, grill and true feeling of being in the tree tops away from it all.
Very nice cabin with many amenities. It is close to Pigeon Forge but in a quiet area away from the busy main street. This location made it easy to avoid the traffic when heading to the park or other outdoor areas but also a short drive to the town when that was the destination for an activity. The bedroom on the main floor was perfect for those with elderly family members as it has everything they need and can avoid the stairs. And we loved the upstairs master w/ in room jacuzzi and the pool table in the game room. Mark was great at providing information and very quick to respond to any question.
The cabin was a perfect location and set up for our family. It had everything we needed. We had a great host that made it easy to check in and find our way there. We enjoyed white water rafting, zip lines, water park & the Island during the stay. We would highly recommend staying here. Jill & Family
Mark was sooo easy to get ahold of for all the minor questions I had! Very accessible. Amazing rental space and very easy directions for check in and check out! 5/5 stars. Would stay again!
The property manager was outstanding. The cabin was very nice with plenty of room for all 5 adults and 1 baby. Easy access to all Smoky highlights.
The cabin was exactly as advertised and perfect for us. Mark, the owner, was great yo work with and had everything we needed. Check in and out was a breeze.
We had a lovely stay. The location was great but the neighborhood leading to the cabin was not so nice. The manager quickly answered our questions when I messaged him. The house needs some maintenance/upkeep. The stain on the patios is peeling and the rockers on the lower level were not nice at all. When we walked around the neighborhood, some of the other homes were maintained much better. As for the view, really wasn't a mountain view But I'm not sure they advertised it this way. Was more of a tree top view. Some of the towels were definitely worn and needed to be replaced. There were 4 king size beds, which we comfy, but if we had had 8 people, there was not enough sitting space in the living room and on the patio. The theatre room had 9 seats but 6 were gaming chairs that were not so comfy and worn. No hangers in the closets which helps if you're traveling. But we did not pay a lot for each night so the price represented the cabin.
The place was great! We loved the porch off the kitchen the most.
It would have been cleaner at the Motel 8. Even after having a cleaning crew return while we were staying, it was only minimally cleaned. Linens smelled sour and were not very good quality. Showers were moldy, & there were mouse droppings in the cupboards. It was a little disappointing.
We had a great time-the theater in the basement and the hot tub were great relaxation after exploring the National park!
We had a group of 7 of us (2 adults and 5 kids aged 2-15). This cabin was amazing. Plenty of room for our family and the kids loved the theater room. We had a blast and Mark manages the property wonderfully. We stayed for 4 nights and communication was great. Checking in and out was super easy. Definitely recommend to all and will keep this cabin in mind next year! Thanks for everything Mark!
