Loved the place. Rob is very helpful. He suggested me to go to dogwood canyon. It’s a beautiful place. Would definitely love to come back some time again.
Sweet ,cozy. Great little cabin. We enjoyed it so much.
The pictures on the listing look very nice and clean. However, upon arriving there was dog poop by the drive port right where we'd be getting out of the car. When we entered the cabin the smell of fragrance from air freshners was extremely over whelming. I immediately searched the cabin and found 10 cheap freshners placed around and large sticky traps filled with bugs. My son is extremely sensitive to smells and started feeling ill with 30 mintutes of being at the cabin. My friends and I by the end of the night all had headaches from air fragrance. My son ended up throwing up due to the smells. It was late and we didn't have anywhere else to go so we all decided to stay. During the night we heard scratching on wood and metal in the ceiling. When talking a walk outside I found an opening in the roof where the plywood had rotted enough for birds or squirrels to get through. Which might have been the the sounds we were hearing. We noticed after the airfreshners were removed the air blowing out of the vents and a foul odor. I feel if they are going to use multiple heavy air freshners in every room that needs to be listed because that is a serious health issue for some.
Well worth the trip down here, what an awesome cabin, surroundings we're beautiful, wildlife all over. We absolutely loved it.
Quaint cabin that has the charm of something straight out of a children's fairy tale - upon initially entering I kept waiting on 7 dwarves to leap out of the walls. Appliances worked great and the washer/dryer was much appreciated. The neighborhood (trailer parkesque) is also quiet and off the beaten path and the cabin's charm makes it easy to feel at home. The cabin has the potential to be great but there are some issues that detract from its charm. Cleanliness is the major problem with this cabin: House of Mouse - upon first glance the property was clean, however the first night we were there we left food on the counter in a Styrofoam container. The following morning, we found that the container had been chewed through by rodents. While there are various reviews of this being addressed, it clearly has not. One of the previous responses from management states mice can come through open windows and doors - we did not leave any doors or windows open - aka the mice were already there upon our arrival. We were more careful about leaving any food items out in packaging that could be chewed through; made sure the kitchen was spotless each night the rest of our stay, so as not to attract any more visits. The house had a lot of dust floating around, aggravating a member of our party's allergies (furnace filter might need changed?). The ceiling fan in the master bedroom (with attached laundry/bathroom) was in need of a major dusting/cleaning.The floors were swept and looked clean, but after walking around on them for a few minutes the bottoms of your feet quickly turned black. Windows were filthy, and something as simple as sweeping/leaf blowing the porches or removing fallen tree limbs from the roof would go a long way to making it look like someone cared about this property.Bring a flashlight if utilizing the loft - the lighting is decorative, but functionality is poor. The futon is the most comfortable mattress in the cabin. If you or someone in your party if over 6' I would look elsewhere. I can't tell you how many times I hit my head on the front door, back door, bathroom door, doorway between the kitchen and dining area, beams in the kitchen. Was hoping to leave feeling relaxed, instead I have some pretty nasty bangs and scrapes on the top of my head, and a crick in my neck from being hunched over the length of the stay. Nothing anyone can do about this, as I said this cabin is something out of a children's fairy tale - scale (size) and all.
A great alternative to camping outdoors
We had a great time. The community welcomed us to their personal 4th of July firework show. Easily the best show our family has been to by far! Cabin was very cozy!
This was such a great place. Loved it so much. Need to bring fans for bedrooms only thing
This was exactly as listed and a nice roomy place for a family of 7. There is a cute little coffee shop close by and a place to swim by the boat ramp. It is however pretty far from any attractions, at least 30 mins- an hour. Check out Top of the Rock!
Cabin was great! Location was great for us. It was a half way point from the places we wanted to visit and the kids enjoyed swimming in the lake literally 2 minutes down from the cabin!
Relaxing and quiet
Nice and Quiet!!!!!!
Other than it was WAY out in middle of no where, we really enjoyed our stay. The only downfall was that it had no TV stations and only had dvd.
We’ll be back
Cabin was really beautiful. Could see some deers coming nearby which was awesome. Only issue we found was that it was full of live & dead insects in all the rooms Had to make a maintenance call as the door to the patio was not closing, but it was fixed the next day only.
If you are looking for time away from all of the hustle and bustle of life this Cabin is practically off the grid, and provides peace and quiet. It would’ve been nice to have a heads up there isn't grocery store near by, and yes, we visited Viney Creek. ? We had to drive over 30 mins back to town to buy groceries. While the cabin is cute and rustic it has a ROACH and MOUSE problem. I had a difficult time sleeping because I had to keep the lights on due to the amount of roaches that would come out in the dark. With no hotel nearby, I sucked it up and got through the 4 nights. I was in good company of friends and family so that was what I focused on. There is also a HORRIBLE smell coming from the cabinets in the kitchen, like a dead rat! Other than that my time in Golden, MO was spent well exploring and unplugging. I will also say that the grounds are not well kept, and do not let the name “Emerald Beach” fool you. If you don’t have a boat of some sort you can not access the “beach” from this “Village” at least not that we could find… Instead, we had to drive 20-30 mins to get to a public access to the lake but we did find a great little place to eat “Dock and Eat” It would’ve been nice to have a list of places to go for emergencies, food, restaurants, etc… I did try to call the owners Sunday afternoon but never received a return call. I would not choose to stay here or in this particular community again. Too far off the beaten path, old, no amenities, and the dogs across the street charge you when you’re outside.
Loved the cabin does need cobble stone from drive to front porch does need a new coffee pot and hair dryer
