It's easy to relax and forget the worlds' problems here. Rustic home with water views.. watch the herons, ducks, and fish from the dock or house. Host & hostess stocked the home with everything you could need. Short drive to the barrier island for sightseeing or beach going.
Our group spent a few relaxing days at the property while in town for my nephew’s wedding. We had everything we needed and the place was clean and comfortable. This place would have been a 4-star but it needs vegetation management, driveway repair and pest control. None of these were major issues but needs addressing. Thanks to the owners for sharing their property. CheersBryan
The house was just as the photos show - spacious, clean, and peaceful. The view was even more beautiful in person. The hosts are very responsive if you need anything. We highly recommend! The only downside is needing to drive to get to the ocean, but we knew that going into it.
We enjoyed our stay, however, we saw quite a few roach bugs, and the grass was knee-high. It would’ve been helpful for us and our dogs walking through the yard without the grass, itching our legs. The porch was also very sticky from possible previous owners. We loved the property and cabin!!
The views are the most redeemable aspect of the property. Sitting on the dock at night with my husband was heaven. A few things: if you have young kids, this property requires strict supervision while in the backyard. You can tell a property owner or management company has not visited in a while. There was a rusted/burned through fire pit in the back yard that needed to have been taken to the dump a long time ago. A huge rusty anchor was sticking out at the beginning of the 4ft dock. Yes, the dock was only 4ft and no guard rails. We tried to take the kids on the dock a few times, but it was so narrow that we didn't attempt often. There was a rusty brush left out on the back deck that my daughter immediately picked up and I had to rush out of her hands. For reference, my kids are 3.5 and 1.5. Also, in the backyard there were remnants of what looked to be a pre-existing house/structure? So, there were old pipes and things just sticking out of the ground. The tree house would have been perfect for older kids, but again ours were a bit too little to safely be up there. The grass had not been cut in a long time, so the blades would hit the kids in the face as they tried to run. The view in the backyard is what sold us on the property, but sadly we couldn't spend too much time there with the kids due to, for lack of a better word, neglect. The interior of the house was clean and spacious, the bathrooms are entirely carpeted and needed to be replaced 20 years ago.
Excellent accommodations.
House was large and property amazing. Great views, plenty of room, super rustic cabin look!
The house was very nice. Our son loved the treehouse and we were also able to catch tons of fiddler crabs on the shore for bait. The only problem I had which was not really a big deal was that the dock was unuseable for my boat. I ended up just renting a slip at Seagate so it ended up working out fine and we had a great stay.
It was great, and all the family could stay and enjoy a few days. We saw the sunrise every day from the dining or living windows. The cabin is very cozy and comfortable. If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy the whole day with your family, it is perfect.
Beautiful views! We can’t wait to visit again.
Even with neighbors close it was still a gorgeous view of the inlet and the cabin was gorgeous.
The property was beautiful, the log cabin was homey, and the treehouse was fun to sit in at night. Location was in the country, but a short drive to town for shopping and restaurants.
Well kept and quiet. Great location for fishing and cast netting for bait such as blue crab, shrimp and mullet. No access for kayaks but 15 minutes away from sea-gate marina with nice launch area but $20 fee. Property deck was 4 feet above water at high tide. Overall experience was outstanding, caught many red drum, speckled trout and rays. Would recommend for a quiet get away.
First few minutes of our stay were a bit rocky but it was all uphill from there! Upon arrival there was a terrible smell around the back porch (couldn’t even stand to be outside) once the source was located (old bait left in a trash can) and relocated to side of house we felt like our vacation could really begin! The house and yard was perfect for our family of 4 plus our pets! We were delighted to find crabs in the pot at the end of the dock already and enjoyed catching shrimp with the nets provided, fishing and playing the in tree fort overlooking the water! The kitchen was fully stocked with coffee and all the cooking dishes utensils we needed! The kids enjoyed the games, wifi and smart tv upstairs in the loft and since we all forgot our shower supplies it was great to find those were provided as well! The wood burning fireplace was a hit on the day it cooled off and rained! The house was off the beaten path but still an easy ride to town and the beach! Our family fell in love with this place and will definitely be staying for our next beach trip!
Beautiful and peaceful location. Great neighborhood. It's secluded. easy drive about 20 mins to grocery store & shopping center. 30 min drive to Atlantic beach. Unfortunately weather was absolutely not on our side during our stay. which has nothing to do with the property. Book this house u will love it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin was just as advertised. It sits on the water with great scenic views, especially during the sunrise. Has a nice pier if you like to fish or crab. About 35 minutes from Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle. Very easy decision to just stay at the cabin if you want to take it easy. Also has a nice kitchen.
We stayed at this property for spring break. Family of four and our little pup. The home is so beautiful and the views are stunning. We played croquet and sat in the treehouse. We drove into Beaufort and also visited the Friendly Market in Morehead. The perfect family getaway when you want to get away’
