Rural Environment Notice
Our cabins are located in the beautiful woods and countryside of Brown County, Indiana. While we provide routine professional pest control and keep our homes clean and well-maintained, guests may occasionally see seasonal pests such as mice, flies, lady beetles (Asian beetles), or stink bugs — especially in the fall and spring.

These harmless insects are part of life in a rural setting. We do everything possible to minimize their presence and appreciate your understanding as part of the authentic Brown County experience!

PET-FRIENDLY PROPERTY: There is a $75 fee per pet. Moondance Vacation Homes proudly donates a portion to the Brown County Humane Society when you bring your pet and pay your pet fee.

This cabin sits atop a hill at the end of an elevated driveway. Although 4-wheel drive isn’t needed, please downshift at the bottom of the driveway.

Climbing stairs is required to enter the property and access the second-level bedroom. Along with the queen-size in the upstairs bedroom, there is also a twin-size bed in the living room.

All fireplaces are seasonal and available for use from October 1st to April 1st. Effective July 1, 2025, the county has raised the innkeeper's tax from 5% to 8%.

This cabin is not located in a quiet area. I could hear cars from the road, people screaming from cars driving by, and even airplanes. I specifically inquired about the noise level before I committed. I asked, on a scale from 1-10, where 1 is noise such as ATVs, leaf blowers, and loud parties, and 10 is nature sounds only, the reply was “probably a 10”. The host did offer to move me to a different rental that was more secluded, but I didn’t get that offer until I was already on my drive home. A more timely response would have helped this rating. Also, the cabin is definitely on a tilt which takes some acclimating. And parts are not cared for, such as the kitchen floor and kitchen countertop. And, the couch doesn’t have enough support to sit comfortably, so you end up sinking into it, and feeling the front of the couch frame against the underside of your knees. Hosts should either have couch fixed or invest in a few one.

The property is generally clean but there were some issues. The front porch is a concrete slab that is broken and uneven in places, creating a tripping hazard. The staircase to access the main bedroom is very steep and needs an outer railing for safety. Senior citizen clients should be warned that the bathroom is not on the same floor as the bedroom and using the stairs in the dark would be dangerous. Also, the upstairs AC unit drips, or sprays water from condensation onto the steps at times, creating another hazard. And this same AC unit has black mold on the vent where the cool air is sent out, possibly spewing the mold spores into the air. Those are all safety issues that would be easily repaired. The hot tub is nice and the kitchen is well-stocked with the necessary equipment. We found the bed uncomfortable, the shower stall quite small, and the living room lighting too dark. The outer windows are in need of cleaning and caulking, as most of the caulk is deteriorated and falling out.We do not plan to use Moondance Rentals again.

I paid for my daughter and son-in-law to stay and paid for a pet deposit. They didn't end up bringing a pet and I asked for a refund. I was very happy to receive that refund in a good time frame. Well done and thanks.

To be fair, it has a hot tub. However, the air conditioning, was not sufficient for 90 degree days. Also the stairs leading to the upper bedroom were those of Little house on the Prairie, narrow and steep. The bedroom floor was pitched as I stood next to the bed I felt the slant. If no amenities is your thing at this price point, then this property is for you.

If you are looking for an old cabin feel, coupled with peaceful porch views, this is it! Loved the hot tub, which was newer and very clean. Everything within the cabin was just as advertised, and we would definitely stay here again!

Super cute cabin with all necessities for a weekend getaway. We loved the hot tub and even though we didn’t use the grill or fire pit they are a nice addition to the cabin. Only complaint is the small shower but it gets the job done! Would definitely stay here again. The location is so close to downtown Nashville and very private. Perfect for couples
