I didn't realize the potential for disease until I read this and heard the stories my daughter told about hot tubs while working at Massanutten.

The space was fantastic. It was such a nice, quiet location to spend the holidays. We were pleased with the location, size and and flow of the home. We had a large group that was able to fit comfortably and connect as a family.
The views from this house were amazing! The layout and location of the house were nice. However, the property had a few issues. The dishwasher was full of mold and completely unusable. The few towels that were available were rather threadbare. Also, the living area had only a couch and loveseat, which were fine, but there was not enough seating for the 10 adults to sit together. Finally, a warning that the driveway was very difficult for those of us without 4 wheel drive. Overall, it was a good enough property for the price and location.
We arrived to find the cabin was not cleaned. The owner told me to check the other house on the property, also not clean. He asked me to take linens from the closet and make the beds while he worked on getting the cleaning crew. I told him that was like staying in an unclean hotel room. He told me he would not charge me for that night & we found other lodging. Before returning to the cabin the next day, Ben texted me to flip the circuit breakers for the hot water and the AC. The house was 87 degrees when we entered! It took 4-6 hours before the house cooled down. The rest of our stay was fine. Getting a refund for that first night was exasperating. After repeatedly trying to contact Ben over many days, he only refunded me just 2/3 of what I paid per night if you divide the full amount by 3 nights. The stress of not having the rental ready for our arrival, having to find other accommodations, our loss of time due to moving our things twice, elicited little concern or compassion from Ben. It became my financial loss. No compensation! *If you run into any problems with a rental, I learned to contact VRBO at the onset! The listing is misleading. It states a 2 night minimum, but he requires 3 nights during peak season. The price doubles after the fees are added in. Deck chairs, & stovetop glass, which is broken, needs replacing. The open layout is nice for a large group. The view is very picturesque with the mountains and cows. The location is convenient to sights.
Upon arrival we discovered thousands of dead bugs on the floor in the main living/kitchen area. I contacted Ben the host and he told me he had an exterminator in the unit the week before, that he was 100 miles away and could not help me, that we should just sweep them up. If we would have had any other place to go we would have left, but there were multiple graduations in the area and everything was booked. So, we swept them up, took an hour. In the meantime, my 80 year old mother in law got locked in a bedroom due to a broken door knob. Luckily there was a deck outside her room se we talked her through removing the screen and getting out that way. When leaving the house the first evening to meet family for dinner, the electronic locking system would not work. I again tried to call Ben but he did not answer. I also texted him pictures of the bugs, again, no response. I sent him an email as we were leaving the property on Sunday morning and he did call me after that. But was rude, kept talking over me, insisted the unit was clean. All he offered at that time was another weekend at the house, which we have no desire to ever stay there again! I contacted VRBO on Monday and they reached out to him, but as of today, 12 days after our stay, no refund. I am very disappointed in the customer service at VRBO that they will not issue the refund themselves. They said because I didn't contact them while we were at the rental location, they can't give our money back.
We Turley enjoyed our stay with great view of mountain. Overall cabin was well maintained except couple of items. Dishwasher had mold which property manager says not. However, we didn’t use it. And one of the bathroom drain was clogged. Rest was great.
Great location and cabin. Comfortably accommodated 8 adults and a 13 year old. Super clean and well-stocked. Big yard to throw ball and great views. Arrowhead lake was right around the corner and it had a nice walking trail around it. Close to Luray and numerous attractions.
Had an amazing time at the cabin with our close friends out of state for a reunion. The Cabin is SO MUCH prettier in person. It’s really lovely upstairs and downstairs. No complaints. Extremely clean and welcoming.
This cabin home offers a lot of livable space with a cozy cabin feeling and best of all it is nestled within the mountains. Wake up pour a cup of coffee and enjoy the scenic views from the front porch or one of the many decks as you smell the fresh mountain air. Our family can not wait to return!
Beautiful property with a beautiful view! My family and friends enjoyed our stay. The cabin had everything we needed and offered plenty of space for three families. We had trouble with the downstairs TV and the owner called to help set it up. Firepit was nice. Location is close to Shenandoah NP and Luray attractions.
This was an absolutely amazing trip that couldn't have been made possible without the assistance of Mr. King and his gorgeous location. The cabin was beautiful, clean and spacious which matched all the natural beauty you're surrounded with outside. Homey vibes with all the windows for views throughout the day, multitude of kitchen utensils and tools for the night meals we were prepping and wide open room setups for ultimate comfort and relaxation. Thank you Mr. King for maintaining such a welcoming a warm location to get the pinnacle of getaway experiences.
We visited at the end of October and the leaves were very beautiful. The home has GREAT views. My family and I really enjoyed having cows for neighbors. The home was very clean and well appointed. With six bedrooms there was room for everyone to be comfortable and relax. The owner had a prompt answer to every question. The listing was accurate but the driveway is a little intimidating. Make sure to check out the stars at night!
This is a beautiful well maintained home. The grounds and the view are spectacular. I wish the numbers on the light poles at the base of the drivway were much bigger and easier to see. We arrived in the daylight and still drove right past them. We had 9 adults and 4 children in our group. There is plenty of room and we never felt we were on top of eachother. We are already planning another trip for next year.
Property and location is very nice, however property needs some care to make it more enjoyable. Very first time sure to miss the house number, GPS does not help. Driveway steep and windy sure needs some care. Many light bulbs are out and needs replacement. Beds are squeaky but okay. Little care in bathroom can make it in good shape (fan/shower-head etc).. Outdoor furniture are aged and need replacement. Other than that it is located in middle of nature.
We were 3 generations and just wanted to to be together. The living aregreatas are spacious and the outdoors beautiful. Lots of lawn for kid play. The kitchen had almost everything and refrigerator was large enough for a large group. Great rental.
Just wonderful stay, wonderful property, wonderful communication with the owner. No complaint here.
The property was user friendly. Great views. Great Host.
