Perfect Family Getaway - Tahoe Donner Cabin - dogs ok!

So great- had all the things I needed for my month long stay! Hosts were very responsive and kind. Would stay again. There is a new house being built next door (construction started during my stay in early April 2026) just as an fyi for noise sensitive if you work during the week the house!

This cabin was very comfortable for my family of 6 with nice light coming into the cabin and the loft was great for leaving games out but being out of the way.

We loved our month long stay at Lisa and John’s home. It had everything we needed and was so cozy. Our hosts were easy to communicate with. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend this stay!

The house had everything that was needed for a large family stay. Although, some of kitchen pots are ready to be replaced. The rooms were all spacious and clean there was plenty of linens and extra blankets. What was helpful were the mattress foam toppers that were in the closet. One of the twin mattresses was not comfortable and we placed the foam toper over it and it helped a lot. Communication with the host was easy and smooth. Overall I would book this home again if given the opportunity.

House was very clean and very well stocked. We had less than ideal weather for outings but it made the cozy fireplace extra special. The host was very responsive and made communication easy.

We had such a wonderful stay at John and Lisa ‘s cabin. The cabin is so cozy, such a roomy space with comfortable and clean couches, fully equipped kitchen with everything you need, updated bathrooms, comfy beds, and a great back deck for relaxing. The cabin is perfectly situated on a quiet street. Lisa and John are wonderful hosts and answered all our questions in a timely manner. We can’t wait to stay again..

Was looking for a family accommodating place in Tahoe Donner. It was the perfect place for grandma, spouse, and three kids with dogs. Could not have asked for anything more. The place is in great location and family friendly. I hope to be able to stay there again for a future trip.

We had 7 adults and 3 kids and everyone fit very comfortably! Plenty of blankets, towels, cleaning supplies, dishes etc! Very cozy home and perfect for a weekend getaway in Tahoe!

This adorable place is on one of the quietest streets in Tahoe Donner. The cabin is cozy, comfortable, and had all the basic necessities to stay 5 days with weather varying from below freezing (LOTS of snow still on the ground!) to almost shorts weather. Hosts were fast with communication, check in was a breeze... a definite keeper for future stays!

Wonderful cabin where our friend group stayed throughout the month of March while skiing in the Lake Tahoe area. Cozy, well-provisioned property; we particularly enjoyed the wood stove!

We had a wonderful stay at the house! It's located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood and was equipped with everything we needed. The 240V outlet was a huge plus—it made charging our EV quick and easy. John and Lisa were fantastic hosts—friendly, responsive, and attentive to our needs. We’d definitely stay here again!

First let me say Lisa the host was amazing and very easy to communicate with. She responded to all messages in a timely manner and always tried to offer solutions. Examples of this is the first day we got there the door leading from the garage to the house would not close. Possibly due to the cold and/or heat the door warped and also needed new screws in the bottom hinge. I let her know, sent her pictures and she advised someone would be there in 2 days. As for cleanliness I assume they use a cleaning service and if so I would use a different company because they are not cleaning thoroughly to say this is a space where people will be coming and going frequently. On the surface the house appeared clean but areas like the kitchen and specifically the refrigerator and the stove needed a detailed cleaning. The refrigerator made this very loud noise all the time, especially the freezer and the stove eyes were all crooked making it hard to cook things evenly as all pots and pans were on a slant. The upstairs bathroom sink drained so slow that if you washed your hands in the morning the water would still be there by noon. There were not a lot of face towels either. I had to go buy a few as it was 6 of us and they only had about 3 or so that we saw. The recycling is on a week on week off schedule which I had to visit a website to determine and it was not our week so the recycling bin was already full when we got there so we had to leave a bag of recycling in the garage as it would

We stayed here for the Thanksgiving holiday. It was cozy and perfect size for four adults, 2 kids (a teenager and pre-teen) and our dog. Great location and would recommend especially if traveling with a pet.

We had a great time at this cabin in Tahoe Donner. The place was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect – peaceful and close to all the activities. We loved relaxing on the deck in the mornings and coming back to the comfy beds and fireplace after a day of exploring. The cabin had nice touches that made our stay even better. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

We had a great time. First of all the price was right. The space was enough for 5-6 of us. All of the appliances worked as expected. The house inside was reasonably clean (some cat spray on the upstairs bedroom wall) and comfortable. The garage space was useful to store our bikes between rides. We enjoyed the deck area and the BBQ worked as expected. The TV was great and the attachment cords assisted with media connection. Restrooms works as expected. Towels were soft and sufficient. We are all used to firmer mattresses, but sleep was achieved and rest was acquired. We should have brought our own pillows like we usually do. We did run out of paper towels in the kitchen, there was only one partial roll. We did use the washer and drier. The drier lint filter had not been cleaned possibly EVER, I have a picture of what I removed when I discovered the clothes were not getting dry. There is a deck screw sticking up about an inch right next to the snow grate at the front door. I am sure glad no-one snagged their foot on it. I mention these two items more for your information than complaint. We would definitely stay at this house again. It was fairly close to the lake, MTB riding, hiking, and services like Safeway and Grocery Outlet. The neighborhood was upscale clean and very quiet. The residents were friendly, as we found while taking evening walks with our dog. There was no sign it was a pet friendly house, except, cat spray. No smell, or fur balls.

We had a wonderful stay despite not having hot water the first night. The owner addressed this issue promptly and the problem was resolved the very next day. The house is cozy and located in a great family friendly area.
