Hendersonville, North Carolina
Quaint mountain cabin with a stream running thru entire property. Excellent views & very private. The 3 acre property has another cabin located 50 feet away, that is available for rent separately or as a package for the entire property. Excellent scenery & grounds for a wedding or special event. We have options available if you have an interest, please contact owner to get all details.
Minutes from incredible hiking & waterfalls. Historic downtown Hendersonville NC is a short 15 minute drive. Asheville airport is an easy 25 minute drive. The famous Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Bat Cave, the great Smokey Mountains, & the Blue Ridge Mountains are all within a 45 min or less drive. You can enjoy the fun of summer, the beautiful changing of the leaves, or a mild winter getaway. The famed Sierra Nevada Brewing Companies multi million dollar facility is right next to the Asheville airport. There are 3 amazing wineries & a cider house within a 15 minute drive. Well known Lake Lure & Chimney Rock that both have breathtaking views, mountain charm, hiking, boating, & even a beach are just over the mountain & a short 25 minute ride. Downtown Hendersonville is loaded with quant shops, amazing restaurants, ice cream, coffee, & an always favorite Mast General Store. You can spend a day just touring Main Street. Even with business' abounding, it still has that mountain town charm that gives you a glimpse into it's historic past. Some of the best mountain biking in the country is less than 30 mins from downtown. Gold mining, sliding rock, tubing, kayaking, rock climbing, or if you're just out for a scenic drive all are within a short distance (30 mins).
Cabin sleeps 4-6 people. There is a master bedroom with a queen bed, a full size loft with a queen bed, & a very comfortable queen size pullout couch in the living area. There is space for an additional small roll away (child only) in the living room, & for a blow up mattress or porta crib in the master. The cozy living area has a gas fireplace for cooler weather & A/C for those warmer days. Windows abound to take in all the views. There is also a full size kitchen, a vanity room, & a full size bathroom with a shower/tub. There are rockers on the front porch & a large outside deck for star gazing or sun bathing or anything in between. There is a small table & chairs for an intimate cup of coffee, or a picnic table on the front deck if you decide to have an outside lunch. Kitchen & bathroom should have everything you need for your stay. There are towels & linens also. There is a washer & dryer available for personal use, but please simply leave used towels & sheets on the floor when you leave. We would like to wash all of our own towels & linens. Blankets are taken to a dry cleaner, please do not wash any of the blankets. At the top of the long, private, paved driveway is plastic garbage container's that we would ask for you to place all of your bagged trash when you leave. There is a very nice basketball goal on the property for your use. I recommend bringing your own ball. There is also an outside fire ring, but it is important to call the local fire department to confirm if the area is under a burn ban or not before having any outside fires.
The property is simple but very clean. We also have a monthly pest control visit throughout the year. There is wifi, but no tv, or cable. This is by design & most people that object to no tv but decide to stay with us anyway end up thanking us afterward. We realize it won't work for everyone but it truly opens the door to relaxing, relationship, & recovery for many individual's & families. For urgent matters, cell service is not great but available depending on your carrier & wifi is also available at Starbucks or Chick Filet which are both about a 20 minute drive into town. Fireside is one of the best breakfast locations in the area, & Appalachian Coffee Company is a favorite coffee stop. Both are in Hendersonville.
The property truly is in a perfect location for anything you may want to experience in the Carolinas or surrounding areas. The amazing new equestrian center in Tryon NC is only a 30 minute drive (approx. 23 miles) & has plenty to see & do. The surrounding areas are plentiful for adventure. Hiking, white water rafting, tubing, mountain biking to name a few. The sightseeing is incredible. There is a quant local petting zoo just 10 minutes away that the kids love. There are also multiple summer camps in the area that people come from all over the country to experience. We've had parents enroll the kids at camp while they take a getaway of their own with us. If you just want to slow down & recover or busy yourself with activities, there is an experience for everyone. Simply staying at the property can be one of the most tranquil experiences ever. Great environment for snuggling up w/someone, or just with a good book. There are three wonderful vineyards within 10 minutes of the property. Burntshirt, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, & Point Lookout Vineyards. Plenty of golf close too during most of the year, including a great course with nite golf during the summer months just 10 minutes away.
Do not wander onto the fenced property across from the other side of the stream. This is all private land & there is no trespassing. Signs are typically posted in these areas. All of the neighbors land is private property. The setting & property truly are remarkable & rare. You can go as slow or make yourself as busy as you'd like. A slice of heaven on earth!
This was a family get away to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. Cabin was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the outdoor space the most. The little creek and the fireplace made a great time to enjoy family time and the beautiful mountains. We picked the right time for colors we’re spectacular. Spent time shopping downtown Hendersonville. The wineries are close by and very beautiful. Can’t wait to do it all over again.
The concerning thing was that two large black dogs showed up and growled and bark at us briefly, lol.
We love the property and the cabin here. Terry is a wonderful host and the cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We love watching the wildlife across the stream and enjoying the view from the porch.
This was the perfect cabin for a perfect little family getaway in the mountains. There’s a beautiful stream on the property the kids loved to splash in and an incredible view of the mountains! Lots to do in the area for kids and teens and Terry was the perfect host! Definitely would come back!
We loved the coziness of this cabin with the fireplace and the porch overlooking the creek, field, and the mountain. The cabin was clean, warm, and had everything we needed for our stay. I loved having the option of multiple space heaters in case we needed extra coverage in another section - we didn't need more than one. We're looking forward to a summer/fall visit.
Loved the view and the stay
Enjoyed a little Holiday getaway with my family in this quaint cabin set on a peaceful little view with a creek. Terry the property manager was great at communicating and super helpful when needed. I’ve already recommended this place to a friend and would love to come back!
Awesome place
Everything was as stated. The creek is beautiful. Loved watching the cows across the hill in the mornings! Very enjoyable stay!
Overall it was nice. It was clean enough. The kids loved playing in the babbling creek right outside the back door. The swing by the creek was fun. The friendly cows on the other side of the creek were great entertainment. The surrounding properties made us feel like we definitely needed to lock up our stuff when not at home. It is way down in a valley so I’m very glad we drove the 4x4. It would’ve been very difficult otherwise. Yes there is a carbon monoxide detector but the batteries are dead. Yes there is a gas grill but there is gas tank was empty so even though we brought burgers and dogs we could not grill. Yes there is a basketball goal and we brought a ball to play with but the parking spot for the neighboring cabin is right below it so most of the time we couldn’t play. We really couldn’t have played anyways because the net is so dry rotted the ball won’t go through. My kids loved the sleeping loft and it was spacious enough for all 3 of them. It was a cozy little place to stay and for the most part we enjoyed it.
Close to many things to do but serene and peaceful once you step onto property and hear the bustling stream! Everything was as described and we enjoyed our stay!
This is cabin and property were simply awesome! There is a lot of space inside and out and the creek was wonderful to cool off in and hear all day/night. The location is also great. 20 minutes to The Gorge Zipline, 30 min north Asheville, 40 min west are a bunch waterfalls and the best WWRafting is 30 min north of Asheville and a very scenic drive! We shopped, rafted and went back that (Friday) night on the way back. The cabin is also on the end of a road too, so very secluded and shady. Great for any age group of folks! As always, careful with internet and cellular service in the mtns, but that’s what we go up here for, to get away from all that!!! Plan your trip ahead or know the direction you want to start out going and navigation will catch soon, hah….. def will be back next summer! My daughters 8 and 10 had the best time too!!
Cute cabin with a nice deck for listening to the sounds of nature and relaxing. Place was not as clean as we had hoped and wireless was not good but overall a nice place!
We spent most of the stay on the balcony or in the rustling creek. The house was small but it had everything we needed for the week for the two of us and our dog. It wasn't far from civilization but it was nice and secluded for most of the stay. One other house is close, as advertised, but wasn't a problem.
We enjoyed our brief stay. The cabin is pleasant and was well furnished, clean.
