The interior of the cabin was cute and nice. On the outside it was not as cute. The condition of the property was not typical of the area and was not appealing. The primary reason we rented this spot was for the boathouse and dock, however, neither was usable. The inlet was inundated with eel grass, which is a common problem on the lake, there were numerous large logs in the water around the boat house, more than half the dock was roped off because the boards were rotten and unsafe and there was no way to tie a boat to the dock. As such, we were forced to trailer our boat back and forth. We realize the eel grass is a common problem but had we known it made the use of the advertised facilities unusable, we would have looked elsewhere. The trailer entrance was sketchy, at best and was a challenge with a 22 ft pontoon boat. Had it rained at any point, I'm not sure the entrance would have been usable.
Andy is a great hostess and there if you need anything you need she is there to help. Our trip was for my husband's birthday he loves to fish. We visited different places and we did a lot of fishing. We will be back to make some more memories. The cabin was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We sat on the front porch late evening listening to the crickets. Thank you, Andy we had a great time.
Stayed here for a kayak fishing getaway. Cabin was very quaint and exactly what we wanted. It was clean, and all of the linens and dishes were clean. Some of the decor/ nooks and crannies had some dust and webs, but it was clean were it counted. We were hoping to keep the kayaks in the boat house, but unfortunately we wouldn’t have been able to carry them down the hill and the closest boat ramp was quite far for a paddle in the wind. We found another place to keep them, but you should reach out beforehand to see if it suits your needs. We were not able to get in touch with the hosts over the website but they were very responsive over the phone and very kind. There was eel grass, but it was doable.
Cute and clean cabin. Friendly helpful owner. Excellent spot on the lake. A lot of grass in the boathouse but it worked out just fine.
This was a father / son fishing trip ! We had everything we needed and nothing we didn’t! The host was very delightful and the amenities were spot on! If given a chance I would enjoy staying here again!!!
We made the best out of it since we already paid and booked our stay, but it wasn't anything like the website stated, when we arrived, there wasn't any water(it was being worked on) and the fire pit was as if it hasn't been used or attended to in yrs, and the boat dock is down a long mountain side and not safe, and the boat dock was not safe at all and had holes all in it, and there was no privacy because of the owner living on site and was always around, we had to load and unload our fishing items and fish at a different location which was not good because we stayed worn out from having to go else where to fish when that's the reason for renting this location!!! Will not go back!!!
The cabin was clean and easily accessible. I enjoyed my stay. Only thing I'd fix is TV bc a lot of channels wouldn't pick up.
Beautiful cabin, owner is very nice and helpful, short walk to the enclosed boatdock, awesome fishing! Caught 35 crappie in 2 days!
Had everything we needed. Used as a base for hiking the norther part of the state.
Enjoyed it. Would recommend.
Place was close to everything and even though we didn’t use the boat house it does have one. We were able to charge the boat each night with no issues.
Pleasant, quiet, relaxing, and a nice cottage. Recommend this site to unwind and relax.
We enjoyed the space but were disappointed that we couldn’t get in the lake with our inflatable kayaks from that location due to the overgrowth of grass. The road to the place is very curvy and long but it’s a nice view in the daytime. We found some nice trails and waterfalls for hiking. The WiFi didn’t work well enough to stream anything on the TV. Overall and enjoyable experience.
Location of property is great for a base camp of fishing. The room was very clean however, the property is in maintenance.
Beautiful property with little to know traffic noise. True natural setting.
The host offered several items to do in the town of Guntersville. Told us about the new City Harbor. The cottage was just what we expected. The boat house with lift was great!! Will definitely go back
