Look no further! You have found a beautifully remodeled, owner-managed home complete with private hot tub, wifi, Netflix and cable TV for your next getaway!

About Trail Cabin 2:
Located in the Golf Home section on Glacier Lily, a quiet street off Hawksbeard, a main roadway through the Ranch. Our location creates central and easy access to everything Black Butte Ranch has to offer while still having a peacefuland private cabin to return to when you are ready to relax and retreat to your own space.

We are fortunate to have one of the larger, more private lots available to the smaller cabins on the Ranch- complete with 600+ sf natural cedar deck- home to a large gas BBQ and professionally maintained PRIVATE hot tub. From the expansive deck, a large wooded area with magnificent trees and wildlife aplenty fills your view. It is not unusual to see deer wandering around the cabin and on occasion, they will come right up on the deck if you appear friendly to them. Although we don't recommend it, we have had guests even report hand-feeding the deer! At night, there is no better venue for star-gazing than taking a front row seat in the hot tub. What looks like thousands of stars in the city, looks like millions at the Ranch- beautiful and amazing! Just as perfect is sitting in the hot tub surrounded by snow and watching the flakes fall and disappear into the hot tub with you- almost magical and certainly an experience to be remembered.

If you are looking for the feel of a real mountain cabin experience in Black Butte Ranch style, TC2 just might be your place. We have worked hard over the years to make Trail Cabin 2 a home that maintains a rustic 'cabiny' feel while still offering a touch of class with quality amenities and the cozy comforts of home. When we come to the Ranch to escape everyday life, we want to feel a little pampered and it is our goal that our guests will feel a little pampered as well!

Inside you will find 3 bedrooms, two having queen beds, and a loft bedroom with two twin beds sleeping six quite comfortably. All beds have coordinated bedding and plenty of extra pillows and blankets. There is one remodeled bathroom that is stocked with color-coordinated towels. The dining area boasts a large, custom-crafted, glass top table that seats six and is perfect for family meals, puzzles, and games, but you may prefer to grab a stool at the bar to enjoy your morning coffee or share a chat with the cook. The kitchen is well- stocked with a variety of cookware, dishes, gadgets and small appliances to choose from for your culinary needs. Of course, the ever-so-necessary dishwasher and microwave are there as well! In the living area, you will find two big, comfy full-sized couches allowing plenty of room for everyone to sit back and relax, watch TV or just enjoy the company by a crackling fire- wood and starting supplies included. Everything described sets in a well laid-out 840 square feet of mountain cabin comfort.

If clean is important to you, you may appreciate knowing that we have proudly been dubbed by our housekeeper as his pickiest client due to the excellence we expect of both him and ourselves. Perhaps more importantly is that we are his only home that regularly changes out all our bedding and blankets right down to and including the mattress pads.

We take clean very seriously and do all of our own deep cleaning because it is the only way to make sure our level of clean is obtained. We own our own professional grade steam cleaner and clean our carpets as many as 6 times per year and our fabric furniture at least 3. Yes, every throw pillow in the house gets steam cleaned or thrown in the wash as well and every pillow along with both queen mattresses have allergy and bed bug resistant encasements and we remove and wash those, too! Summer can be rough because we are so busy, but even then, we sneak in, change out the bedding and clean carpets whenever possible. We aren't perfect and things can happen especially when access is limited, but one thing is for sure, nobody puts the effort into making sure their home is clean any better than we do and most don't even come close according to our housekeeper. We will take that as a compliment!

We have spent years transforming this place to what it is now and still constantly change things up- adding this and changing that. You will find very little that has not been updated in this cabin and will likely find changes of some type at every visit- sometimes big and other times small. We love to share this place with others who enjoy having more than the run-of-the-mill hotel type atmosphere. Again and again we hear that TC2 feels like a real home for which we are so grateful. This is exactly the level of hospitality we wish to give each and every guest on each and every visit.

We have raised our children coming here and have all sorts of memories to last a lifetime. In a life that is riddled with life-type 'stuff', what a blessing it has been to be able to escape to this place through the years and re-connect with friends and family. We look forward to our children bringing theirs one day. Our vision is to create long-term relationships with our guests and have TC2 be the place where you will want to bring your future generations again and again. We welcome the opportunity to have you be part of our BBR family!

***In an effort to be completely transparent to our potential guests, we are making a few important disclosures up front:

1) Every guest will be asked to respond that they are in agreement with the following house rules before their reservation will be accepted. It is helpful to add that the rules have been read and are agreed to along with any reservation request:

1. No pets, no exceptions.

2. No smoking/ vaping of any kind anywhere in or out of the cabin or anywhere on the property.

3. Responsible party must be at least 25 and willing to send a copy of your driver's license to verify ID.

4. We have a limit of 6 for occupancy and require that you provide a complete guest list, including ages for children. No one is allowed on the property that was not disclosed beforehand.

5. *****Housekeeping requires that the last load of towels be in the dryer, first load of sheets are in the wash, last of the dishes loaded and running, and all garbage be removed from the property upon departure. If this procedure doesn't work for you, please don't agree to the house rules.

2) BBR collects 13.5% of the rental income for each reservation through the homeowners as guest Access Fees; charges are separate and in addition to our quote. The 13.5% will be calculated on booking amount excluding taxes & fees and a separate payment request will be sent with these charges due 30 days before check-in.

3) We are Christians and our home tastefully reflects that. On rare occasion someone has a problem with that, so a different home may be a better choice for that person :)

About Black Butte Ranch:
Black Butte Ranch is a golf resort community that offers on-site dining and recreation including golf, horseback riding, year around swimming and sport courts of all kinds to name a few. The Ranch is a paradise for walkers and bicyclers with its 18 miles of paved trails running throughout the picturesque resort.

What Black Butte Ranch different than other Central Oregon resorts do Simply, the Ranch has worked hard to maintain the non-commercial atmosphere that we enjoy without sacrificing convenience and desirable offerings. You won't find large clusters of restaurants or other commercial businesses here, but you will find the beautiful Lodge housing a great place to eat along with other high quality amenities scattered throughout the Ranch.

The Lodge Restaurant is an area favorite for both its fine food and atmosphere and has received high ratings in popular magazines. Both the Lodge and the surrounding landscape are so beautiful, many have chosen the Lodge area as the spot to hold the wedding of their dreams. Now that speaks volumes, doesn't it If a more casual experience is what you desire, Robert's Pub sits just off the Big Meadow Golf Course, one of two championship courses at the Ranch, and offers standard pub fare in a stylish, but low-key atmosphere at affordable prices.

The multi-million dollar Glaze Meadow Recreation Center houses a spacious sports shop supplying Ranch memorabilia alongside the standard sport shop finds, but that is just the beginning- an indoor pool, an outdoor pool with a children’s water park, steam sauna, hot tub, fitness room, coffee bar, wifi and all sorts of seasonal equipment rentals fill out this activity hub. A children’s play area, numerous sports courts and horseshoe pits dot the nearby vicinity. If you are looking for activity, GMRC is definitely for you!

For the adventurous, you will not be disappointed. Head into the quaint Western-themed town of Sisters, just eight miles away, and there you will find a tourist hotspot with lots of fun shops and restaurants- big enough to keep you interested and small enough you can cover the sights by foot.

The surrounding area is nature lovers’ oasis with hiking, fishing, site-seeing, and skiing to name a few, all within walking distance or mere minutes of driving time. Without a doubt, there is more to do in this area than most could ever find the time (or energy) for!

We also have a small country store near the horse stables where you can pick up quick necessities. The most basic, yet quality amenities are right there for you on the Ranch without crowding out the natural beauty BBR has long been known for. The BBR slogan states, 'There is a place...' and there surely is a place- a place where you can find all the peace and solitude you'd like and then join in the activities when and if you choose. There is no other place like the Black Butte Ranch!

Hot tub worked well. Cabin cozy. Tv could not be made to work. Host said Netflix was part of it, but Netflix insisted on being paid. The door lock was extremely challenging on every use and lastly, the cleanup procedure was unrealistic with the size of the washing machine dryer. And I’ve never had a host require dropping garbage at the community dump versus in the house garbage can. The pages of direction were a good effort, but so many directives were not helpful.

The cabin was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated in an outdoorsy western theme. The beds/pillows were very comfortable. The linens were soft and silky! The kitchen had everything we needed, and the welcome basket was a super nice touch. We didn't use the hot tub at the cabin but we swam at the indoor pool and sat in the hot tub and sauna at the rec center (no extra charge to use the rec center facilities). The bikes were a wonderful amenity as there are miles of safe bike paths with beautiful views in throughout the ranch. We had dinner in the Aspen lounge at the main lodge and food, drinks and service were all excellent. I highly recommend this cabin as a rustic getaway with so many amenities offered by Black Butte Ranch.

The gate malfunctioned several times and had to go back to the welcome center for another key card - luckily when it malfunctioned a neighbor let us in but a disappointing system - shower door tray fell off on my foot while showering - many electrical outlets need to be replaced due to the plug falling out of the socket - some arcing as well when the plug would fall out - hot tub at night was peaceful

Another amazing stay! Our kids have grown up visiting Black Butte every summer, and we love returning to Nicole's cabin. Excellent communication, check in and check out easy and straightforward, always clean and comfortable, with thoughtful extras like the basket of snacks. We enjoy the evenings with a dip in the private hot tub!

We had a great time. The beds are comfortable and the deck and hot tub were fun. The washing machine is a little too small. It is August and the house doesn’t have AC but it cools down fast at night and there are lots of fans and windows that can be opened, so that is really no issue. The floor squeaks all over but maybe that is normal for a 1970s house. Great location. Perfect for biking to the lodge for dinner at the newly remodeled bistro or swimming in the pool. Overall we had a great time.

My family stayed here for a wedding in Black Butte and it was a great location! Hot tub was clean and perfect temp, and the cabin was wonderful. Only note I have is that the upstairs with 2 twins beds is probably perfect for kids, but we had two adults stay up there and the low ceilings/extra firm mattresses weren’t ideal for us. Otherwise, we loved the cabin and loved they provided 4 bikes to use and lots of games to chose from! Thanks for having us!

The cabin is in a beautiful area of Black Butte Ranch, with good proximity to Glaze Meadow, and the Lodge. The property is very well maintained, and we loved the back deck and hot tub. We had 5 people in our party, which was a bit tight for the cabin, although the owners have created very efficient living spaces, including the kitchen and bathroom.

The house was average. Very thin walls and small. The host had way too many demands for the price of the home! We had to do all the laundry and dishes and because we had very confusing garbage instructions and we didn't do one thing the exact way they wanted they charged me an extra 30.00! Unbelievable and ridiculous!

Very responsive and communicative host. Property was well equip and we felt very welcomed to the home. We were able to make our Thanksgiving meal and enjoy a relaxing time. The hot tub was wonderful and available games and puzzles were great activities. We had a little confusion coordinating check-in as detailed arrival instructions came from an unfamiliar email and I initially deleted it. Highly recommend.

This cabin is small (as with all the Trail Cabins at Black Butte) but very comfortable and well appointed. The deck is spacious and shaded later in the day. Well equipped kitchen, nice gas grill, easy walk to Paulina Springs.
