Overlooks Donner Lake

We had a great stay in this wonderful home right across from Donner Lake. Clean and comfortable. Perfect location for skiing Sugar Bowl, with quick and easy access to Truckee. Nancy and Bill were communicative and helpful. We'd love to stay here again. Thanks!

We loved the view of Donner Lake and the wonderful veranda. There were lots of very nice dishes and plenty of cook ware. We loved our stay. Highly recommend it.

I rented the cabin to celebrate my 60th birthday with a group of girlfriends and had a wonderful time. Cute little cabin, great views, easy access, and lots to do in the vicinity.As a light sleeper, it was just a little tough sleeping downstairs because the floors are super creaky.

Host was very welcoming and good communication and directions ahead of our stay. Beautiful view of the lake! Easy access to Truckee and the Donner Lake region.This was our first time ever having a departure checklist for a property - I understand why they want that accountability.Was a surprise that no beds had linens on them when we arrived. Maybe I missed that in the listing?Would have been good to have photos of the very steep stairs with open railing going to the loft area - definitely not safe for littles (which is why we appreciated the baby gates!)Would have been nice to have some kid-friendly plates/cups so as to not risk breaking anything (we didn't, but we were worried about it).

The cabin was clean, beautiful, and extra cozy, with thoughtful touches like heated blankets on the beds.We had a small hiccup with the fireplace, but Norma and Bill were quick to respond, addressing our concerns and helping us resolve the issue right away.My boys loved having sleds to play with in the snow, and the cabin was incredibly comfortable for all of us.It was a wonderful snowed-in experience in a cozy cabin at beautiful Donner Lake.We look forward to staying again!—Nicole and family

Unbelievable location, super cozy house!

We've been staying at this home for a number of years every summer. The cabin is great with a terrific view of the lake. Always clean and well maintained, and the owners are a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend.

Beautiful unobstructed views of the Lake, great location, fully equipped with everything you would need, cute decor, very clean, and owners responded immediately to messages. It’s close to the main road so a bit noisy on the beautiful deck. But that’s to be expected during the summer.

Boy, it really makes sense why this house is reviewed so well! The house was PERFECT! Clean as could be, soft beds and a wonderful space. Walk across the street to the lake and docs, eat outside on the perfect patio or enjoy the couch by big big windows. Everyone was really happy with the house, from 2 years to 89 years old! We would stay again and again!

This is a beautiful property with everything you need to enjoy your stay on the lake. Extremely well organized and thoughtful with instructions for everything you need.. from the tv to the trash protocol to choosing restaurants and outings. Absolutely stunning place, the best VRBO I have experienced. If I were to suggest anything, it would be to lug my own water in. The water was a bit chlorinated, especially when we closed it up in water bottles for our outings. Thanks for sharing this special place, it had such a personal touch and a long history of love that we felt the whole time we were there.

This cabin is beautiful! Many cute decorative touches keeping the mountain cabin vibe. The kitchen had every utensil, bowl, pot and pan you could want. The dining table was large and the furniture was all very comfortable. The parking right at the door was a life saver for some of us that aren't as mobile as we used to be. Would definitely stay again.

Donner Lake is my son's favorite place to be

This has been a favorite cabin of our family to stay in for 11 years total. An absolute home of a cabin, gorgeous view of the lake and lots of room.

The cabin was clean, well organized, and the kitchen was very well stocked - including extras like a crockpot, blender, toaster, pancake griddle and even a separate mini-fridge with condiments to share with guests. Very thoughtful and appreciated. Downstairs closet included lots of games, extra firewood, sledding and beach toys too, which we especially appreciated since we were traveling with kids. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and look forward to booking this lovely cabin again.

We had a lovely weekend away at the Markley cabin. It is so thoughtfully set up and was very comfortable for our family and good friends with their kids. We enjoyed cooking, the snowy views from the huge windows and the easy access to the lake across the road.

This house is awesome! One of the most well stocked homes we've ever rented. Very cozy and loaded with personal touches. We really enjoyed our stay!

We booked this place for 3 days the weekend after New Year’s for my son‘s birthday to spend some time in the snow. We had such a wonderful time with a superb view of the lake and comfortable cabin! The kitchen is well stocked, and it had a very comfortable family feel.

Our stay was magnificent! The house provided with everything literally every single thing we needed. Every appliance every utility everything was available and more. The house even came with a beautiful Christmas tree and the decors around the house was perfect! It really made it feel super cozy and at home. Everything was very clean and just perfect, literally no complaints. We recommend anyone to come and stay at this perfect home. It felt like a home away from home!

Comfortable and well equipped accommodations. Great Location!

We stay at many VRBO’s but this one really stood out in being more impressive than the pictures! This might sound trivial, but so many times the kitchen tools are in horrible shape or don’t exist. This place is the opposite! We made a Thanksgiving dinner and took great care of their kitchen tools so others would have the same experience. It’s really like being in someone’s home…not a rental!

Everything was great, great location, clean and well-equipped house, good value.

Great place! You do not need to bring anything, there are plenty of tools for cooking, towels, games. Cozy house, amazing view!
