Tiny House! This cabin is great for a fisherman’s weekend getaway at Toledo Bend. Once a part of the beloved, highly rated Shady Oak Lodge, fisherman and families have been coming for years to enjoy this rustic log cabin nestled among trees. The boat ramp is shared by the original 7 Shady Oak Lodge cabins and available for your use.

We are not on the water but have water access via the community boat ramp. You can either pull your boat in/out of the water or tie onto the poles to the left of the boat ramp. The location is extremely convenient as we are off Pilcher Road in Lanan Bay, which is minutes from Toledo Town and Tackle, grocery store, restaurants and banks.

This charming fishing bungalow sleeps 5 - 3 in the loft! This knotty pine cabin with vaulted ceilings is not only quaint and nicely furnished, but it has all that you need for a fishing weekend. It has a fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator and bathroom with a tub/shower combination. There is a queen bed in the open area with a dining table and recliner. And the vaulted ceilings enable both a queen bed and a twin bed on opposite lofts of the cabin. The kitchen has all everything you need - necessary utensils, stove/oven, microwave - except a dishwasher.

For the fishermen, there is parking for your boat and outdoor plugs to charge it. We also have a large dog pen for use. And for the kids, there is large playground with several swings and a sand box. Playground is a shared space with Cabins 1 and 2. Your kids will love exploring the grounds!

We follow an enhanced cleaning protocol. Here are a few highlights:
- High-touch surfaces are sanitized
- Clean each room with cleaners and disinfectants approved by health agencies
- Wash all bedding after each guest

It was a okay place to sleep. Layout a little weird. Good area for pets but it could have used a good raking to clean it up a bit. Stay was fine since we mainly just needed a place to sleep

The cabin was as exprected and just enough space my myself and my partner. I can see how it would be difficult with more than two or three people. The boat launch was a little tricky to find at first but the host was quick to answer our questions. I will say you need to be experienced in launching boats in order to do so without issues (it was quite steep). Overall though,we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed our time in toledo bend!

Exactly as advertised! Very quiet and secure area! Will definitely book again! Clean with all the right amenities! Boat ramp is pretty steep but ok for 4x4 truck with experienced launcher! The huge oaks draped in moss add to the serenity of the stay! For sure a hidden gem on Toledo Bend!

I want this review to be helpful to the next person who rents this cabin. I was a little disappointed. This was our first stay at Toledo Bend so we didn't know what to look for in a cabin. Pictures can be very deceiving. This cabin is veeeeeery tiny! It's a tight spot for just 2 people and a dog. It worked though for our first weekend. If you were to have more than 2 people, you would have no where to put your stuff. We literally had a walkway from the door to the kitchen area. The hot water in the shower literally lasted 3 minutes so take your showers fast and wait a while for the next person so they can have hot water. ? this cabin is not on the lake unless you have a boat. We did not have a boat so we had to fish off the boat ramp in the channel that came close to the cabin.. It was a very small area to fish in with lots of debre in the water to get hooked on. You couldn't really walk around the fishing area because everything around you was private property. We finally found an area about 10 min away that wouldn't make us pay to fish, but when we went there we kept getting hooked up on the rocks so we just gave up there too. Although our first weekend to Toledo bend didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped, it was still a great weekend and we did catch some fish and had a relaxing time! We will definitely be back to Toledo Bend but for us, we will need something a little bit bigger and a bigger area to fish.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend and it was the perfect little cabin for us. So cozy and perfect! Was nice to have the boat launch right by the cabin, would recommend this cabin to all my family and friends. Will definitely be back!

Christina was super accommodating, the cabin was perfect. It was close enough to town and other activities, but still felt out of the way. It was just what we needed!
