Hannon House is on the river, under the sky where fishing and outdoor fun come naturally. Hannon House is a 120+ year old farm house in the style of old rural Montana. The lifestyle reflects the character and unique location of this rare piece of history. If you are looking for a taste of old Montana, this is it.

This 2 bedroom cottage is located adjacent to the original farmhouse at the historic Hannon homestead on the Bitterroot River, three miles south of Darby, Montana. Settled inthe late 1880’s, the farmhouse and grounds sit on the western edge of the Bitterroot River with over 1700 feet of river frontage. Structures on the property date from the 1880's to 1974 including hand hewn logs and milled lumber barns and out buildings. The main house was titled in 1900. This is the site of the area's original mercantile and post office. Bordered by the Bitterroot and Sapphire mountains, and situated on the Lewis and Clark trail (really, they walked through the front yard) the house sits in the shadow of Trapper Peak, the highest peak in the Bitterroot Range. The site is located at the confluence of the East fork, West fork and Main branch of the Bitterroot River. This is a taste of old Montana steps from one of the finest native trout streams in the west. This is a working farm including irrigated hay production and garden crops. Accommodations are clean and simple with an emphasis on fly fishing, watersports, hiking, hunting, skiing, open space and relaxation. Hot tub on the back deck under the stars! The site is hosted with the property owners residing on the premises. You are free to explore the grounds, fish the river, participate in activities or find the peace that solitude provides. We are 27 miles from Lost Trail Powder Mountain ski resort. Restaurants and shopping are located within 3 miles in the town of Darby.

Main room is a bit tight to get around. The handle to the back door was broken so a bit difficult to get open going back and forth to the hot tub. There was some dog poo near the path to the hot tub so had to be aware of where you stepped. Other than that the stay was nice. Clean inside and cozy. Toni was very nice and was there to meet us. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to recharge.

This was a perfect retreat for my husband and I along with two of our friends. The property and river are beautiful! Also, the owners were awesome and they work very hard to make sure you have everything you need. We definitely hope to come back and stay longer! Thank you!

Great property. The owner was very accommodating by greeting us upon arrival and having a campfire and fresh popcorn in the evening.

We love Ravalli County. It is so beautiful! The cabin was clean, cozy and stocked with everything you might need, and the bed was super comfy. The property sista right on the river and is stunning. It was great to return in the afternoon/evening and jump in the spa under the stars. The hosts were great and their restaurant right down the road, Knotty Nymph, was amazing! Steak and cocktails were spot on! We will definitely be back.
