Island Park, Idaho
Sawtelle Lodge is a spacious 2800 sq ft brand new cabin! Enjoy amazing views of the beautiful Island Park scenery! Watch the sunset over Sawtelle Mountain in the hot tub on the back patio! Located only 25 minutes from the West entrance to Yellowstone Park. Great for UTV/snowmobile trips with close access to trail system, you can ride right out the front door! Perfect for large groups and if you're looking for a family reunion or very large gathering you can rent the cabin and loft next door!
This beautiful cabin has 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and sleeps 20! The two master bedrooms on the main floor feature a king-size bed. The upstairs bedrooms each feature a queen and twin bed. The loft area has a queen and two twin beds so there's room for the whole group to sleep!
The kitchen is equipped with all the basic cooking utensils you'll need, along with plenty of dining space for the whole group. The main living area has a couple of comfy couches and beautiful gas fireplace. Down each hall is lots of wall space with hooks to hang up everyone's coats and gear along with 2 washer and dryer sets to make you feel right at home. There's a patio with the hot tub, where you can sit and relax as you watch the sun set.
The living room has several couches and a smart TV so everyone can watch a movie together or cozy up by the beautiful fireplace. The Loft space upstairs has a couch and another smart TV!
The cabin is located in a new area off the old highway, making it close to everything! Short driving distance (25 minutes) to the West entrance of Yellowstone, (5 minutes) to the golf course or gas station/grocery store. Also great access to trails for ATVs/snowmobiles located just off the old highway.
WiFi, towels, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, are included.
(RV's and camper trailers not allowed)
One or two dogs are welcome. The pet fee is $20 per dog per night. And we require that they never get on the furniture or beds. Even good dogs can get anxious when left alone in a new place and that is when they damage things. So your dog must be in a crate if you leave him behind in the cabin. (We do not provide the crate.)
To keep the cabin beautiful, you are responsible to pay for any damage caused by your dog. Because the extra cleaning will interfere with the cabin being ready for guests later that day, if there is damage or dog hair on the beds or furniture, then the extra cost is a minimum of $100.
You'll have access to the entire cabin including the hot tub, grill, washers/dryers, and the parking space outside! (RV's and camper trailers not allowed) Usually, there is propane for the grill. If not, you're responsible for filling up the propane tank at Robins Roost gas station just a couple minutes away.
I may not be present during your stay but available for any questions or concerns. Please call or text to let me know and I'm happy to help.
Only 12 miles/25 minutes away from West entrance into Yellowstone National park and close to Henry's Fork on the Snake River. Also the cabin is within about 5 minutes away from a couple restaurants and a gas station/grocery store where you can get anything you may need or forgot.
There isn't any public transportation in the area so you'll need to have a car to get around. There 700+ miles of trails that you can ride motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles etc on. We have ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles available for rent if you're looking for a different way to explore the area other than in a car.
From mid-December to March you can depend on snow in Island Park. The roads are plowed well, but it would be a good idea to bring a vehicle that works well in the snow. A truck with clearance, 4WD or AWD is best.
Take an adventure on the hundreds of miles of trails for snowmobiles, UTVs, and ATVs right out the back door. We also rent out snowmobiles, UTVs, and ATVs as well and can arrange a rentals for you!
We ask that you do a couple simple things when checking out like take your trash to dumpster next door, load and start dishwasher, wash towels and leave them drying, pull sheets off of beds that are slept in and leave them on beds. We do this to make sure the cleaning service has enough time to get the cabin ready for the next guests and to keep fees lower for you.
Our only issues were the only tv that worked was the one in the living room and the water to the fridge didn’t work so we bought ice and poured it in the drawer. Easy fix.
We enjoyed our cabin very much! Jake communicated throughout the whole process. The view was beautiful and the cabin accommodated our large group very well.
Beautiful house and views! We loved our stay! Communication was great from the beginning to end! There was plenty of room for everyone in our party! We loved this cabin!

Property was close to Yellowstone. Beautiful views. Had great amenities.
Great location.
The cabin was in the perfect location at the base of the Sawtelle Mountain. We had antelope in the field and lots of room for everyone. We wouls definitely stay there again.
Great new cabin/home to stay in at Island Park. Great location. Beautiful inside. Lots of space to spread out for the family. Had everything we needed.
On arrival I was very pleased to find that the house was bright and spacious. The photos on the website really didn't do it justice. Our extended family was comfortable and happy to spend time together in such a beautiful environment. The drive to Yellowstone was quick and easy.
The cabin has a lot of space for 18 of us. Now the reasons why I give a poor review for the Island Park @Sawtelle Lodge from March 14-18, 2023. 1. From the first night after 2 of the kids showered, we notice no hot water. I then called the number posted on the refrigerator. The line was busy. Shortly after that someone from the office called back (female voice). She did not identify herself. I told her that there’s no hot water after 2 people showered. She keeps saying that “it’s not an emergency, maintenance will not come out tonight”. I replied to her that my party from Hawaii, it’s spring weather. I also mention to her that I cannot even wash my face with the cool water. She offered the option to go to the next lodge. She did not realize that we cannot even go there because the front door is covered with ice. Maintenance came late that first night. Tom, the maintenance was very nice. The hot water issue was thought out the 4 nights we were there. No resolution. The day before we check out of the cabin, we did not have water running due to maintenance repair. 2 Bed issue for the loft and theist room to the left of the house. The beds were horrible. It sagged in the middle. We checked the bed frame and the frames are broken that no longer support the mattress (I have pictures on file). I text the number to report issue. The person managing that phone text back and said “all beds are fixed and since then there has been no reports. Beds are also checked with pictures”, (cause I mention to her that January 2023, I saw same review issue with the bed). She also mention that before our arrival she had a clean report the lodge was ready. 3. The master bedroom on the right side of the house also have issues with the pillows and sheets. It was covered with small hairs that my niece had to wash (first night) and never use the pillow. I did send the video to the number provide to report issues. Overall this is a nightmare vacation. To be in a place without hot water in winter weather is not acceptable in my book. This is not an emergency to her but it is to me.
Very nice home and well arranged. A few issues we had. Towels in closet were all full of Mold. We tried to clean them but they are beyond fixing. Internet password or internet did not work. Hard to work remote with no internet. Also unable to watch Supercross or football as no TV without internet. Couch was severely broken in livingroom.
Wonderful experience! Great cabin for a big family.
Spent 4 nights in this wonderful cabin. It was the coldest week of the year and we stayed comfortable and cozy. Comfortable beds and plenty of space for a big group. Plenty of parking for large trucks and trailers. Manager was awesome and helped us out when our trucks were frozen up. Thanks.
Cabin was cozy and comfortable. Several bedrooms and beds to accommodate a big group. Property manager was great to help us when we had car problems.
Good location just 20ish minutes from west entrance to Yellowstone. Nice house with everything you need.
We would come here again! A few suggestions- a garbage in the shower rooms. A tankless water heater- we ran out of hot water several time. We had a great time!
We enjoyed our stay, had a good time in and out of the house. House was clean, and the amenities outside were a big complement to enjoy our stay.
Enjoyed staying at this property .. had plenty of room for all of us & close to town and amenities! Beautiful views of the mountains and outdoors!!
It was very clean and fit a large group well. The hot tub was fun! The fire pit and all the benches and rocking chairs was a bonus. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. Be sure to take your own shampoo and soap because they are not provided. Also, the mattresses and pillows were standard, some people thought uncomfortable.
