Truly enjoyed our time in this beautiful cabin. Overall, the house was in good shape. They do need to have more cups/drinking glasses in the kitchen (I'm sure many were broken over time) and we had to buy cutting boards, which we left behind, but overall, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The Owners are a pleasure to deal with and we appreciated the use of their home. There was plenty of room for our family group of ten to spread out and enjoy ourselves, although we spent the majority of the time playing games at the large dining room table or on the deck making smores in the wood burning fire place (provide your own wood)! This is nothing to do with the owners or the home itself, but others who rent the house. Pay attention to the entire listing. Other reviewers left bad reviews and complained about the lack of supplies, but should have known better. We took all of our own supplies because it plainly says in the listing that the owners do not provide paper products or trash bags for your stay. They give enough for maybe your first day or two there, but that's it, which is more than reasonable. Also, the closest grocery store other than Dollar General is about 15-20 minutes away, so plan accordingly. Read the entire listing, book it, bring your own supplies and have a great time making wonderful memories in a beautiful log cabin home with great mountain views! Thank you Chelsea and Dan for opening up your home and sharing it with us.
We planned a family get together with all siblings and their spouses. Nice view and a quiet neighborhood. Easy access to nearby hiking trails, water falls, and other activities. Only issue, if any, would be that supplies were low (toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish washer pods, etc). Dollar general and local grocery stores are 10-15 minutes away.
First off, the listing claims that they take cleaning seriously. However, there was a garbage canister in the kitchen full of trash without a bag. We had to clean large amounts of cobwebs around the entire ceiling of the master bedroom. In the basement, where the kids slept, there were lots of large spiders dead and alive. My youngest daughter received a bite on her foot while sleeping. There were also many inconveniences such as not enough toilet paper—only one roll provided per bathroom in a sleep 15 cabin, and no garbage bags supplied. Don’t assume because there is a fire pit that there will be wood provided. We made the mistake when bookin that such things would be provided for this price. Propane is also not provided—which appears in the listing—however, you either have to bring in on a potentially long roadtrip or drive a half hour to the local Walmart. Communication with the owners was good in the sense they responded quickly to concerns and questions but there was no apologies for shortcomings like the lack of cleaning. They simply said they would “let the team know.” Overall, it was a spacious cabin in a quiet area, just be aware what you are getting for the price.
The cabin was picture perfect with a great view and location. It had all the amenities mentioned including a game room that kept the kids occupied. The fire pit was our favorite place and is where we spent most of the time, especially to watch the kids roll down the hill. I would absolutely recommed this property. Town is about 25 mins away so make sure you grab what you need. However, there is a quaint little gas station close by that has most things including firewood. I miss it already!
The neighborhood was quiet, clean and newer. Tucked away in the woods, yet close enough to the stores to get groceries. Definitely would recommend. Easy communication with owners.
We were 2 families. It was very great the stay at this cabin. Our kids are good friends from school, so they enjoyed and have fun. Even it was raining we could be able to use the grill and make food while we were there, play games and enjoy a cup of wine. my only complain could be bed not to comfy but good.
We booked a last minute trip for a quick three day getaway to just relax, enjoy the changing of the leaves, and get some actual face time (?) in with our two teenage sons! The house is everything you could ask for AND SO MUCH MORE!! We didn't even use half of the house, honestly...it has 5 bedrooms and enough space for a soccer team to sleep! The views were jaw dropping, and you don't have to worry about having neighbors piled on top of you, you are literally secluded...but still close enough to get to a store to stock up on things to grill, or S'mores ingredients to make at the fire pit. The outdoor fireplace on the deck would be a perfect spot for photo-ops. The kitchen has everything you could think of to make whatever you might be craving. Chelsea and Don (the owners) were a dream! They're so pleasant, helpful, and super quick to respond to anything you might need help with. It was a breeze to check-in, and check-out. I almost don't want to share this place with anyone because I know that it will stay booked up once you see what we experienced! ?? I guarantee you will not only NOT be disappointed, but you'll be blown away by just how beautiful it us, inside and out! We're already looking into booking it again very soon. Thanks Chelsea & Don, so much!! ? The Duttons
We had a wonderful time at this property celebrating our parents 50th anniversary! The house was clean and the neighborhood was quiet with a great view of the mountains. It was also close to several great little towns to shop and eat but far enough away from the crowds. We did a little boating on lake blue ridge and it was only about 15 minutes from the cabin. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for family get away.
Booked a short getaway with my large family - found this gem... Great house, spacious and clean, everything you need is included..! Great views, great firepit, jacuzzi - and great owners - Chelsea and Dan were great and stayed in contact to ensure we had everything we needed...
