In current day 20 million people visit Lake Tahoe Annually.
Thank you for being mindful, & cleaning up after yourself and other human species, pass it on.

This is a relaxing, healthy retreat with views & fresh air here on the property.
No heavy partiers (not that kind of wild life here, please)!
NO SMOKING property! If you smoke cigarettes you will be asked to leave and no refund will be available. No exceptions- Health, Fire and more...
- (smell can linger and stink for many surrounding cabins, bc it leaves a film on windows, etc..).

Please help us to stay relaxed and on time as best as we can; we do not take early check ins or outs. If you you need different hours please inquire within for a half day rate. Please, do not 'just show up' early ; we will contact you when the cabin is ready. Thank you for being on time for departure.
We rent to adults only. Perfect for 1 or 2. Things are mostly self explanatory with the process. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you need help regarding your cabin stay. We hope you enjoy your time in the mountains.

Vehicles:
This cabin has reserved parking for ONE guest vehicle.
The driveway is short and the road to the cabin is steep and may be somewhat challenging in the winter.
If you need additional parking our local casino’s is approx .2 miles (approx 5 minute walk-&/or- less than $5 taxi) which also offers 24hr security (check in with security/main desk and for a nominal fee can leave longer than four hours).

Cold Season:
This is a 1947 historic summer use cabin restored. The cabin is best suited for spring -fall. I am the one to make it habitable for year round use and at the time I never imagined I would be offering the general public to stay. There is a regulated thermostat and the ambient temperature is approx 65 degrees (that is warm for winter)(especially in an old cabin). * It can still feel cold. Pack accordingly.*

WINTER:
A four-wheel drive and/or All wheel may be required in the winter months & is highly suggested much other times.

I understand if you are (a winter traveler) desiring to come up here rain, snow or shine and want to give you the opportunity to research places that are a guarantee if it is blizzarding.
Please remember this is a 1947 summer use cabin, not a hotel.
Die Hards Only - (storms in historic summer use cabins are not a time for luxury};
(ie., expect cold in the romantic setting).
Heat & other utilities should be conserved during storms.

I hope we will have beautiful weather for your visiting dates. But if not, we have learned the hard way it is not a place to rent when it is actively blizzarding feet (-vs- inches) out .
We only rent to winter visitors flexible enough to reschedule for non heavy storms days, pack for it, not completely wifi dependent. If you are interested but uncertain I'm happy to help watch dates and the weather too.

Holidays thru February:
Best between storms; please watch the forecast.. - or - We look forward to seeing you in the spring snow conditions
Winter/Spring Conditions - Typically March and on.
For many reasons my visitors should know: this is a 1947 summer cabin that I have updated to live year round.

House Keeping:
Bring inside shoes (slippers).
We rent to adults only, (children may accompany parents).
Cabin is equipped with all the supplies one would need to keep up with a guests basic daily routine.

House keepers are on the front line these days, please help us stay as safe as we can!
This which allows us the privilege to offer a vacation cabin to visitors. Thank you for helping to stay on time which helps stay on time.

Since covid we have been extremely inundated with new concerns (virus) and heavier work (ex: cooking on vacation).
There are plenty of household supplies out for you to maintain your environment and there are more sponges, cleaning supplies, under the sink, broom in closet, etc.. should you need.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if we can be of assistance, or you like to schedule a secondary maid service.

CHECK-OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
We hope you enjoyed your stay! And we now feel like you are a part of the Cabin’s loving history now too. We’d love to hear your comments, we welcome you sign the guest book.

Our standard Check out time is 9:30AM.
Our clean starts shortly after that to start the appropriate preparations for our guest.

No need to strip the bedding (just leaves us a pile & sometimes is in the way).
Check for all your personal belongings often hiding: phone chargers, toothbrushes, socks lost in the sheets, etc… 
Please return any items borrowed: shovels, beach chairs, movies, etc…

THANK YOU for:
*Washing your Dishes,

Everything was beautiful and perfect! So much care had gone into creating the cabin a homey and beautiful space. It is surrounded by nature and a perfect location to town where you have beautiful views and experiences but little to no town noise. The cabin and host are wonderful! We felt like we were staying at a super thoughtful friend’s house who thought of everything we could possibly need. They were so thoughtful and mindful of us. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will be back!

We had a lovely time at this small Tahoe cabin! It’s clear that Stella has put a lot of effort into making it a comfortable and inviting space. The cabin is clean, well-maintained, and has all the essentials for a relaxing getaway. The location is fantastic—with views of the lake and close to state line. While the updates may not be high-end, the place still has a lot of charm and personality. The king bed is very comfortable and shower pressure is good. It’s a great spot for those who appreciate a cozy, no-frills stay in a peaceful setting. Stella was communicative and thoughtful, making sure we had everything we needed.

Great location lake side for a little staycation. Amazing communication with property manager and detailed instructions for check in process, parking, and even notes through out the property. Cute little cabin for a home away from home! Thank you for welcoming us and sharing your space, would definitely return!

We needed a cozy place with a view as a homebase while we explored all of Lake Tahoe. The host had us set up for success from the beginning and we got to see everything because we were so close to it all.The property was super cool and it made you feel right at hone. Can not wait to return.

Loved the location. Stayed a week and explored all of the lake and adjacent places from this home base. Savored the lake views from inside and outside on the deck. Outfitted kitchen made it easy to have some meals at home. Hostess Stella is a native and point you in the right direction if you need tips. Private. Comfortable. Clean. Very relaxing spot.

We can't say enough great things about this cabin and the host. The cabin was extremely clean and had everything we could have possibly needed for our stay, to include beautiful views of the lake. And Stella, the host, was always quick to communicate and was absolutely wonderful. We highly recommend staying here!

Great cabin, unfortunately stayed during a rare summer cold front. Could not turn on fireplace. Wifi was too weak to work television. But other than that a beautiful property.

Relaxing stay. Owner welcomed us at the door upon check in. Spent about 20 minutes telling us about the cabin. Owner has a cabin directly behind the rental that looks down on the rental. When you walk outside the cabin the owner's dog would bark at you. A little annoying at times.

I was delighted with this property because I grew up at Tahoe and am very fond of classic rustic summer cabins converted by their owners to unique homes. I appreciate what it takes to maintain them through the winter! I loved our lake view and the quiet neighborhood. Very convenient for our purposes. I walked to Speedway Beach no problem... otherwise mostly drove but walking or bus works.

We had a great time at the Brockway Cabin. The location was great with only a 3 minute drive to King's Beach and a gorgeous view of the lake. The cabin was clean and had lots of amenities/features for a comfortable and cozy stay. It would've been a plus if the kitchen had a stocked coffee station, but we definitely did not expect that. Stella is a highly meticulous host and gives you all the details you need for your stay and more, including tips on how to keep comfortable during all types of weather. Don't be intimidated by her level of detail - she's just a really thoughtful host! We'd happily book again.
