I will start by saying this property is listed as family/kid friendly. As a mom of two young kids, I would personally not bring my kids here. It wasn’t a bad property by any means! But there were certain safety things, such as very steep stairs with no handle, there were some holes in the walls or floors. While we were staying we noticed a leak and I notified the property contact and just got a “thanks for letting us know” and then while my husband and I were in the hot tub I saw a dude just walk into the house through the front door apparently to fix the leak in the attic. I freaked out for a minute because he had the door code because it was locked. The property was clean and nice and had everything we needed, however. The hot tub was clean and perfect. Bedding was nice. Very dog friendly, so bring your fur babies!
We enjoyed our stay at the Mysty Cabin. Once you find the turn off Hwy 2, and see the sign directing you to the left, it is easy to find. We have just a few tiny comments: Great, sharp knives!!! Best we have had in a rental in a long time. It would be great to add a large rimmed cookie sheet and a roll of foil (super cheap at Costco) to facilitate baking and roasts. The windows open but there is no fan to ventilate, so just be aware, especially if you make bacon. A silicon/plastic pancake flipper would help protect the non-stick pans. An oven mitt would also be helpful (the silicon pad that is there has a rip and isn't great). We understand septic and were very careful with the drains, but the bathroom sink needs a trap cleanout. The woodstove is a fantastic feature, but needs some help to draw properly and more seasoned wood would help as well. We loved heating with wood - so cozy. The sauna was nice. The hottub was also enjoyed, though a few more degrees of heat would be nicer. All in all, we found this to be a worthwhile place and would stay again, should circumstances arise.
The property manager is the true hero here. We stay here often and had some issues during a stay in August 2023... which Guin had all completely fixed and resolved by the time we were back the first week of September. Beautiful and peaceful location. Hiking is awe-inspiring in this area.
Upon check-in, a five-inch rat darted upstairs. We spent the trip hearing it in the walls and chasing it across the kitchen and master suite trying to catch it. Found old traps behind the fridge and large holes where the rat was going in and out of the hole behind the fridge and in the master suite closet. Then the toilet handle (which on previous trips had worked fine but was tough to flush) broke off in my hand and we had to start reaching into the toilet tank to flush it. The cabin was clean and Guin (the only contact we could find to report problems to) who works for (or owns?) the cleaning service that services the cabin was friendly and assured us all would be seen to. We hope so since we rent the cabin often for hiking trips and are actually due to go back in September. Love the cabin. Rodents running loose and toilet issues? Not so much love for those :(
Hot tub, sauna, river front, private- nice place
The Mysty Mountain cabin is in a fantastic location. You can hear the river but do have to walk past the tree line to see it. There are trains but we did not find them too invasive. The property itself is a cute little cabin with a nicely stocked kitchen, a great table, and a good sitting area. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a suitable size. The firewood provided for the stove is a nice touch. We did not use the hot tub or sauna but they were in great condition. Checking in and out was easy and communication from the local manager was a breeze. I would definitely recommend this little cabin!
The home was clean and ready when we arrived. Perfect weekend getaway spot!
The cabin was amazing! It had every amenity we needed and more. The property was big and perfect to hang out with friends and family. It was within driving distance to many hikes and small towns to explore. We ventured to Leavenworth for a day and it was a long day, but getting back to the cabin and using the sauna and hot tub felt amazing. We went to the cabin in the May, but were already planning our next visit in the winter time.
Amazing hard to find private property on the river! If your looking to relax this is the place to go
Charming comfy and private.
We stayed at the Mysty Mountain Cabin for a ski trip to Stevens. If you are looking for a cabin with nice amenities and peace and quiet then this is a great place. Finding the property was a little difficult as the driveway blended in with all the snow but it was plowed and easy to drive. Size of the house was good for us (family of 4) but the stairway to the upstairs bedrooms was a little on the steep side. The property is very large and nicely secluded in the woods with very little traffic noise. The train that passes by was barely noticeable and the kids enjoyed watching it go by. Hot tub and sauna were great (had to google how to use sauna, might have missed it in the welcome packet). Beds were comfy, shower was hot, kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils. Closest grocery store is about 30 min away but well stocked if you didn’t bring enough food. Contact with host was prompt and helpful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon.
This cabin was perfect for our family getaway to the woods. The large green space, hot tub, sauna, and sounds of the river were wonderful. We loved watching the trains pass by (they weren't loud!). The cabin was well-stocked with kitchen items and towels. The town of Skykomish was lovely, and our kids enjoyed the train rides.
This is our second time staying in this cabin and we have had a wonderful time each visit. We love the location, the cozy interior, and the amenities. We will probably return again! The only feedback is that they hot tub has been pretty sandy each visit, but not too terrible.
