The property is cute, but lacking in many basic amenities. No stove, dishes/utensils/glasses, table to eat, only 4 channels (at best) on TV, but none are major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc), and no internet. The living room area light has a mind of its own. There is a mini frig (but no little freezer for ice or anything frozen) and a small coffee pot with 2 cups. The bed was comfortable enough. Onion Creek appears to have been dry for quite some time, so I wouldn't brag on it as an amenity. Did get to see a bunny that popped it's head out when we arrived and when we left (greeter? Lol). If you are into nature and getting off the grid, this is somewhat for you. Just be prepared to eat out for every meal.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. Only negative was the river was bone dry. Oh and they need a wine bottle opener. Other than that, it was AMAZING.

I stay in rental homes/properties nearly every time I travel - which is at least once every 2 months. I have always given 5 stars because I select with care & - until this experience - owners go above & beyond to make the experience great. I’ll start with the positives. This is a cute little studio cabin that is, overall, as advertised. There are several other cabins right in a small row so if you’re looking for something super private, this isn’t it. But it’s close to nearby wineries, more private than a hotel, & the grounds and cabin were very clean. Unfortunately, on the morning of my arrival, I still hadn’t received checkin instructions so I called the number listed on homeaway. The owner was pleasant, explained they were traveling & gave me the cabin code verbally. No worries! Life happens. I got the address off homeaway & headed the 2 hours south for my weekend stay with a friend. Unfortunately, the address on homeaway was incorrect. I was driving down private driveways looking for the cabins when I finally called the owner’s number & spoke with someone different who VERY RUDELY instructed me to enter the address into google maps, & it would bring me right to it. I told him I’d done exactly that & it didn’t bring me there at all. He said, “We have 100’s of people who come here monthly. Enter the address!” I asked him if he was kidding me with his attitude to which he said “Nice chat!” and hung up. What?? After a couple minutes of double checking myself, the address on homeaway & the one I’d entered, I entered “The Cabins at Onion Creek” in google maps rather than the address & it took me to the cabins. It took a while to reload bc of poor service, but I got there. I called the owner back & spoke with a woman who was very apologetic & told me the appropriate address - which was off by 1 number from homeaway. Of course, at that point I was pretty livid. She told me the man who hung up on me wasn’t an owner but was someone she handed the phone off to that she thought would help. Additionally, the AC didn’t turn on when both my friend & I followed the instructions explicitly. You’re told not to press any buttons other than on/off and +/- bc the AC would malfunction. When I texted the owner, she gave me additional instructions & it worked. Overall, the property itself was good. Despite the apology, I can’t believe someone would speak to a paying customer the way this man did. Never had an experience like that. Disappointing.
