Mr. Gnomerson's Hideaway is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom vacation cabin in Packwood, Washington. Named in honor of our daughter's gnome neighborhood located under a majestic cedar tree, this family-friendly rental is ready for fun in all seasons! In the winter we are a short 25-minute drive to White Pass Ski Resort, a laid-back favorite with lessons, rentals and fun for both downhill and cross-country skiing. In the summer our cabin is a quick walk to access the beautiful Cowlitz River and surrounding mountain views, a short drive to Mt. Rainier and the Goat Rocks Wilderness, and our secluded backyard looking out into the woods and surrounded by evergreens is the perfect place to relax and refresh. In the fall maples change colors, in the spring the flowers bloom, and all year we have amazing hiking from an easily accessible walk to a backcountry challenge. And of course, s'mores around the firepit are always in season! Whether it is cold or hot outside, your comfort is ensured by the mini-split system (heat/AC) that can be adjusted by room. The town of Packwood is about a five-minute drive where you can grab groceries or take-out, kick back at the brewery while enjoying the view of Mt. Rainier, or hunt for treasure at the Thrift and Gift!

The cabin sleeps 7 on the available beds, for families with kids we can provide a pack-and-play, cot or floor pad if needed. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a full-size bed on the bottom bunk (arranged so it can be accessed from both sides, no need to crawl over your sleeping partner!) and twin on the top bunk. The study has a comfortable fold out couch. All other mattresses are memory foam. The other bathroom has a tub-shower combo. The cabin is also equipped with an EV Charger for guest use. It is a level 2 charger compatible with J1772 charging plug. This property is pet friendly and has a fenced in back yard.

Our kitchen is well-stocked, and there is a propane gas grill on the back deck. And you don't have to scrub dishes on vacation; we have a dishwasher for that!

For a cozy evening, curl up on the new couch and use the Roku TV to access your streaming services, or watch/record live TV with the complimentary YouTube TV account. The cabin also has games and books for your enjoyment. Be sure to check out the owner's guide detailing some of our favorite nature outings and places to visit in the area.

After a day of skiing or hiking feel free to run a load of laundry in our new washer/dryer in the garage. The garage cannot accommodate a car, but if you would like to bring your bikes from home they can be securely stored there. Packwood is an excellent place for biking, or to access mountain bike trails!

If you have to get a bit of work done while you are here, there is a desk with a comfortable chair in the study, and a docking station for the monitor you are free to use if needed. The cabin has fast Wi-Fi that can accommodate your video meetings while the kids stream a show! We provide a guest account for YouTube TV , which includes standard cable channels, or you can log into your account for Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services.

Outdoor security camera installed above garage door to ensure safety and property protection. Footage is recorded but not reviewed.

Winters in Packwood may get very snowy. It is the guest's responsibility to be properly equipped for harsh winter driving conditions. We do our best to keep our cabins accessible, but winter traction tires and 4-wheel drive may still be required.

Very nice property! We loved the atmosphere and the grill was top notch! Air conditioning was great for the hot days and the bathrooms/showers were nice and updated. Stopping in town for great scenery and went to the local brewery for a beer and ice cream was a nice touch to the stay.

Perfect place to stay when visiting Mt. Ranier. The home had everything you would need and is stocked with plenty of helpful information about the surrounding area.

We enjoyed our time at Gnomerson’s. It was stocked with everything one would need including items often missing such as coffee filters and many condiments. It had a fire pit and loads of wood. It is dated and some of the utensils and pots/pans were very well used. For example, the egg whisk was plastic and fell apart when we tried to use it. Still, this is a decent place just a few minutes from downtown Packwood and the road to paradise. Recommended.

Everything was convenient and organized. We had a great evening around the firepit and 2 days enjoying an overcrowded but beautiful Mount Rainier National Park.

The property was very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay, perfect for our adventures to Mt Ranier. Only issue I had was there was no window covering over the back or front doors. Felt a little exposed at nights but never felt unsafe. Would stay again. a

The house was very clean and very thoughtfully done. All needs we're anticipated and met. We appreciated the lights on outside at night so we could see it well. It was also nice to have so much information about the house and the area around us in notebooks inside.

The only thing I didn't care for is the beds. They are two small for couples and my husband is 6' 3 and was on bunk beds we couldn't sleep together.
