THINGS TO DO IN HILL CITY
In addition to being in the heart of Hill City, South Dakota, a short walk from downtown, the Black Hills Central Railroad's 1880 TRAIN is just across the street. The popular Mickleson Trail follows Railroad Ave and East Main's sidewalk through town, with bike rentals just down the street. Historic downtown is a great place to explore with its local restaurants, various shops, and galleries.
Perfect for needing a place to stay close to everything. We were only there to sleep so perfect for us. Clean ,quiet and comfortable
Very nice accommodations. Great location
From booking to check out the experience was fantastic. The hosts texted us when our room was ready and provided clear instructions on how to access the property. The location is perfect. You can view the Black Hills while you drink a coffee at the coffee shop. You can walk to downtown Hill City, very quaint town. Easy ride to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Deadwood. About two hours to Devil's Tower. Visit South Dakota and stay here. You won't regret it.
We loved our stay! Very clean & quiet. Could walk downtown whenever we wanted. The family was very friendly & accommodating! Very good breakfast burritos at the coffee shop!
A quiet and comfortable place to stay with great hosts. Perfect location for seeing all the sights in the Black Hills.
We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Peaks Inn Lodging, if your looking for a laid back place that has small town charm this is your place. Communication with owners was great.
We did have issues with the lock to our door. But Lisa was available via text and phone to take care of the issue quickly, especially during a busy holiday weekend. The location is about 15 miles from Rushmore, and you can use access the site from two roads. Make sure to check out the Washington profile off 244. You can easily access Iron Mountain Road and Needles Highway, as well as Custard State Park, where you can hopefully see the bison heard. Getting to the outskirts of Rapid City is easy, only about 25 minutes away. There you will find Reptile Gardens and Fort Hayes Chuckwagon, among other things. Coffee at the shop was good, and as a guest, you can find a coupon for a free cup or $3 off an order. Restaurants close by, laundry a block away, grocery store down the street, and 1880 train depot across the street. In cabin, expect to find a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. The bunk area for the kids provided great privacy for all, and the kids loved having their own area. Great place if you want access to everything in the Black Hills.
Perfect location in Hill City! Walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars. The attached coffee shop is perfect in the mornings! We visit the Hills often and will definitely stay her again and recommend to our family and friends!
Very cute cabin. Friendly hosts. Great coffee! Great area, a lot to do. We had a family reunion at Palmer gulch. Everyone had a great time and loved the area!
Enjoyed the table and chairs on the porch. Owners were helpful. I thought there was a stove top. Couldn’t cook. Very comfortable for the wife and I. Overall very satisfied.

Very clean, access to everything, staff friendly, very nice place to stay
We enjoyed our time here being in the middle of so many activities to do in the Black Hills. The only negative thing is the TV because we didn't understand how to use it so we played cards at night instead creating more memories.
This spot was perfect for our family. It was walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the school playground! It was a perfect location to stay for multiple days and take day trips to so many sites and cute little towns. It was cozy, clean and being able to grill out and eat in was a plus for us!
Excellent hosts. Great location. Would definitely stay there again.
We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Our family of 4 stayed in the Elkhorn suite and the location was perfect and the coffee shop was a great bonus.
