Staying in West Yosemite is a blast. Everything most people want to see is about 20-30 min away. But when you come home, you can sit on the deck, soak in the pines and the sunset and the fresh air without all the crowds and lines. Glacier Point road is just a few minutes away. At the end is Glacier Point which is a must see for Yosemite. But on the way is a number of great hikes such as Taft Point, Sentinel Dome, Mono Meadows, etc. All of them are great walks. The Taft Point trail in the summer is the best hike in the park - easy, trees, meadows, flowers, and then that view a the end - WOW! The house is older, yes, but well equipped. We didn't need to bring anything to the kitchen other than food and the spices/oils we would need. Other than that, everything is there and in great condition. The house is a little worn but we thought it was exceptionally clean. And the pool table was fabulous for our three teenage boys to unwind after each day of hiking. We stayed 7 nights and wished we could have stayed longer because the house is that comfortable. The WiFi is not fast, but our friends, staying at a house up the street, didn't have wiFi so we felt privileged (We needed to do a little work over vacation). The only complaint, 2 nof the three main beds were not great. But after hiking for 12 hours, nobody cared. If you are looking for temprapedic beds, you may want to go somewhere else. If you want everything else in a great vacation rental, this house is worth it.

The house failed on cleanliness. It is obvious that their washing machine has mold because every single thing that gets washed smelled like mildew and they tried to cover it up by using more dryer sheets. The bedding and towels smelled disgusting. The shower curtains have black mold on them, the sink had dried toothpaste in it and some of the pans in the cabinet were dirty. That’s just touching the surface. I would highly recommend people bring their own towels and bedding. One of the comforters even smelled like urine.

The two items noticed was toothpaste in one of the upstairs bathroom and the grill needed deep cleaned. There was no communication on the air conditioner. We found a note written on the air consider when we heard it making an awful noise. Thank goodness we were home when it ran out of water. No one answers the phone numbers provided and the voicemail was full.

Inside Yosemite! The house easily housed our group of 8 (5 adults & 3 kids). We enjoyed the pool table & my kids loved staying in a two-story house. Our's is a single story; don't ask me why this mattered to my son so much. Kids, haha. All living areas were a great size and there are plenty of restrooms. Never once was someone waiting to go to the restroom. There is really a more convenient area to stay, if you want stay in a house INSIDE Yosemite. Didn't have to wait in line each day to get into the park; that alone in valuable. Excellent hosts.

Wifi not working as advertised. Amenities , ie soap, Kleenex, extra towels were sparse. Entrance from driveway needs updated. Bedrooms and bathrooms were a good size. Grill and propane were a plus.

The house is large enough for a comfortable family of 6. The 3 full baths and an extra half bath was very convenient. The property was very clean and the kitchen had all the amenities we needed. The driveway is a bit steep and I had to put on chains to drive up to reach the front of the house. This was not a problem, it is safer to have chains driving in the Yosemite West area anyway. The only downside to the property is that it is dated. Everything needs to be updated, bathrooms, beds, and the kitchen all showed their age.

Pluses were that it’s a good location in the area for touring Yosemite and Mariposa Grove. Decent beds and shower. However, entire place needs a facelift. Others in the area have better views, appear to have been upgraded. We booked too late so not much else was available. Three adjacent properties are under construction. We were out touring so noise wasn’t an issue. Bring groceries in because nothing but the basics are provided.

Found filled ashtrays with dirty cigarettes and lighters on outside table; brown substances in filled ice cube trays; master wall switch completely taped over with electrical tape; inoperable stove burner; missing kitchen cabinet knob; ash-filled fireplace; walls and windows were dirty; dead moths in dining light fixture; torn bbq cover. Contradictory rules between welcome packet and checkout document. As 30 year+ rental properties owners, this property should be off the market until repainted, repaired and cleaned up!
