This wooden cabin is looks out on one of the best mountain views in the world. It's 20 minutes from Asheville on 36 acres in a wild, peaceful, lush private cove. It sleeps 4 and has everything you need. However, it's only a good fit for nature lovers, not people looking for a sparkling clean space and manicured lawns. It's the wilderness, which isn't for everyone!
It’s quiet, wild, and peaceful here. The mountain view is breathtaking, and it changes every moment. The cabin is cute. It has high ceilings, a separate bedroom, a desk, and a loft. Everyone that comes here remarks that it's the best view they've ever seen. You can walk from the cabin around the land and up into the cove.
However, you should know the cabin is rustic. It is not possible to keep wasps and bees out. There is a mouse that lives here. It's a bit rundown. That being said, it's comfortable. There's one queen bed and one full sized futon up in a small loft, so if there is a second person or couple, their sleeping space will not be spacious.
You should also know, THE CASITA DOES NOT LOCK. It is a very safe area, no one around here locks their doors.
It can get very hot in the afternoon, even with the air conditioner and fan. It works best for people who have things to do in the afternoon, or are happy to sit on the porch which is shady in mid day. It cools down by 6 pm.
There is a propane heater, wood stove, and portable air conditioner.
Its rustic nature makes it impossible to keep it spotless, so if you like spotless you should find a modern place in town. But if you're willing to trade a little dust for an incredible view and the most wild and beautiful nature with room to roam, this is for you. You can walk from the cabin around the land, to the private and secluded creeks, meadows and forests, and up into the cove.

The cabin was as the pictures described. The gas space heater did not work, after 2 tries we gave up. One hand towel was a bit lame. The wood stove did not heat space enough and the wood needed to b cut smaller to fit in stove. In the middle of the pm we heard a loud bang and it appears that a ledge inside the stove dropped down.. not sure why that happened. I did love the ambiance and surrounding land, beauty and deck. I would love to b there when a heater or AC was not Needed.
The property is breathtakingly beautiful! We enjoyed walking throughout the meadow and down by the stream. I will definitely be staying here again, thank you for being so hospitable and communicative, Elicia!
Absolutely beautiful scenery and land. It's like the mountains and the sky are singing to you. I love the cabin, has everything you might need in a small space. Has two beds that are comfy and lots of amazing books to read. Would highly recommend. The host is also super sweet and she is really helpful. Many thanks
This would be an awesome place if there had been curtains on all the windows, if the ones there had matched without holes. Had to fix the back sliding door so there wouldn’t be a two inch crack at the top. There was a sheet on the mattress, but none between you and the comforter. Cat hairs on the sheet. Mold on the headboard. We shut the bedroom door and slept on the couch. There was a mattress in the loft with a comforter on it. Looked like it had been slept in. No wash clothes. No extra towels. Just two. The outside needed some work. Where I parked, I was in briars and weeds when I got out. This would be an awesome place to stay, if they would invest into the cabin, just what we paid to stay there. I don’t mind a little dust, a few wasp, or even a mouse, but this place needs some things fixed in it. This is my first review ,with VRBO, where I’ve ever sad anything bad about a place we’ve stayed at.
Private, clean, and peaceful. Perfect get away
This was my second time staying and I absolutely love this little piece of heaven. It's become my annual getaway for myself. Perfect place to recharge.
We loved staying here! It’s an adorable little cabin on a beautiful property. We were lucky enough to stay when the leaves were at their peak. It gets pretty cold in the cabin at night, but there is a space heater and a wood stove that will keep the loft bed very warm if you choose to sleep there. Overall, we really loved it and would love to come back!
If you're looking to disconnect from the mundane, to reconnect with our natural roots, Motherwood Sanctuary is for you! The Casita has a superior view, comfy beds, a full size gas stove, & a more than generous checkout time. We can't wait to go back!
I will be back. Elicia described this property perfectly.
