We stayed 4 nights. The cabin is nice as in construction-solid and well built. It has a fairly well equipped kitchen. The 2 bathrooms are adequate and DOWNSTAIRS while the bedrooms are upstairs. Mattresses need to be replaced and when I removed sheets to look for bedbugs ( as I do everywhere) I found stained mattress covers. I requested clean ones and they arrived next day. Big turn off and thereโs no washer/ dryer so youโre reliant on their cleanliness. One bathroom sink did not drain but drano was delivered and what I did not ask for was new shower curtains but they were very old almost brittle and badly stained . The cabin is not exactly alone in the woods. You have neighbors and there are no window coverings downstairs so you feel a bit exposed at night. The dock is shared with 3 or 4 other homes. The outside fire pit was nice and wood supplied. Deer came for breakfast one morning. Overall we had a good experience but the cleanliness and downstairs bathroom were an issue for me.
The location and access to the ITS trail system was excellent, just North of the moose river and access to ITS 66 by a private trail kept open by the other homeowners on this lane. I should have asked more questions because both bedrooms are on the second floor while both bathrooms were on the main level, but this was my mistake, I should have asked. Overall this is an ideal location and a beautiful place to stay, however, during the colder months the heating system ( propane fireplace) is not quite adequate. Obviously this is a known weakness because the instructions above the thermostat instructed the renters to not set it above 85 above degrees. Other than that problem it is a beautiful rental with a great location.
This cabin is a gem! It is a snowmobilers dream. The location is perfect with direct trail access. It was spotless, has everything you need. Very fast Wifi. Deer visit twice a day and two even let you pet them. The cabin is warm and beds are comfortable. Having the sleds under cover is great! Elizabeth the contact is such a sweet person and very prompt at getting back to you. Canโt wait to go back next year!
My husband and I have been staying here for probably 20 years and love it! The Moosehead area is our favorite place to be, away from home. The area is great, the people are so friendly and the caretakers and owners are top notch! Always extremely helpful and accommodating when anything comes up. Would highly recommend staying here!
Incredible property, clean, and the wildlife is spectacular!!
My 17 year old son, our two dogs and myself enjoyed our week at this property. We went to enjoy snow, peace and quiet and the outdoors and that is what we got. The cabin is cozy. Dogs enjoyed snoozing in their dog beds in front of the gas stove after hiking in the snowy woods. Not a bad drive to Greenville, Lily Bay State Park and other ponds and lakes. A few deer were there to greet us when we arrived.
This was the first time we used this property for the annual father/daughter bird hunting trip. These were the best accommodations we've found for our trip in the Rockwood area.
Close to Rockwood, the Birches, middle section of Moosehead Lake. Easy drive to Rockwood convenience store and minutes from Greenville. Fit 2 families (each 2 adults and 2 children) for a few days. Cabin clean and well kept. You may want to bring water for drinking if not used to well water. Was a bit surprised owner showed up during our stay to work outside and install Starlink, but we were on our way out for the day soon. Overall. would rent again. Location lined up perfectly for what we were looking to do.
Very nice quiet cabin.
This is a fantastic cabin in the Maine woods. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Even with the power outage from a storm the backup glass lamps were a plus. If you are looking for someplace quite to get away and just relax this is definitely the place for you.
This home was perfect for our family. Plenty of room for everyone. Would stay here again.
The cabin had everything we needed for us to feel at home. The outdoor fireplace and grill were really nice for hanging around outside. Having two separate bathrooms was clutch for getting ready in the morning. Beds were extra creaky, metal frames are spring like in nature and any movement causes them to creak. So we figured out where to place some padding so we could sleep peacefully. Tip to next guest, place some firewood under the porch to stay dry.
Place was as described in listing my only recommandation would be to make sure to bring all your food supplies before as the closes store is about 30 min drive . Overall the stay was great
The cabin is really comfortable and itโs a nice location. We had a great stay.
This is the perfect location for exploring the north woods. Thereโs a fully stocked kitchen for cooking whatever you want, comfortable beds, and convenient two bathrooms for larger groups. Communication with Mallory was quick and easy and she even accommodated an extra night for me (I didnโt want to leave. I just love the area so much). Iโd be thrilled to stay here again.
