This cabin was great. Very high up in the mountains, 4 wheel drive a must. The views were great. Spacious cabin. Hot Tub was lovely, outside over-looking the mountains. The red color made it easier to find which was very helpful. Close to town. We brought our dog which was great. Lots of leaves bc it was fall which did make it hard for our dog to tinkle but the area was big enough for her to walk.

Our stay at the gingerbread cabin was awesome. They provided firewood for the indoor fire place. The hot tub was great. My only negative and this does not have anything to do with our cabin, but i have to admit it was pretty scary driving up Ober Mountain, There are no guard rails on the majority of the mountain you have to be super careful. going up there..The property itself was absolutely beautiful great hot tub two bedrooms, pool table which my husband and I enjoyed very much sat outside in the morning looking at the mountain. The weather was pretty good when we were there, it did get a little chilly at night time, but we utilized the hot tub a lot. I would recommend staying at the Gingerbread House to everyone.

Incredible location just 10 minutes up the mountain from the Smoky Mountain Park exit. We had luck on our drive up, as we received snow due to the elevation of the mountain. We also saw a family of bears who got incredibly close, walking around the porch outside the cabin. Make sure to secure that food! The host provides about 1/4 cord of firewood to burn, which kept the accommodation nice and toasty. It was incredible. Pigeon Forge is also just 15-25 minutes away, traffic depending. Overall a fantastic, cute experience. We didn't want to leave! Will be planning to stay here again.

The cabin was in an amazing location. It was clean. But not perfect. But im very ocd. I wish there gad been oven mits but luckily i had been camping and had one. The grill had seen better days. I used it but it was abiut to fall over. The bottom was rusted out. The hot tub was also a vokd tub. But the staff were amazing and offered to cone right out. Too bad we were leaving the next day. The hole place was just the cutest cabin. Decorated perfectly.

Loved everything about this place, except noise of neighbors. The first night we got there on Saturday. People across the street, down one house had loud hip hop crap playing. Thank goodness, he was washing his car before checking out. So from Saturday night through Friday morning was perfection. But then the same house had new people. Three cars were there. They played loud hip hop crap all evening. It was our last night there and we were trying to sit on the balcony and enjoy our secluded mountain solitude listening to owls. But I couldn't hear anything but that horrible hip hop. We even took a walk up the road to have some last tranquility before settling in for the night. We could still hear it all the way up the road. It was still playing after 11pm when we finally went to bed.

Cute place. Bring slippers/house shoes. Not a place for super tall people, as the shower head and ceiling fan are lower. Overall, recommend.

The drive up the mountain was very treacherous.Basically one lane roads with no guard rails. If we had realized this, we would’ve stayed there. I would not recommend for anyone over 65 years old. The cabin was cozy. There were a few things to improve. The back area with the picnic table and pavers need to be shored up and an addition of a secure fence would be a lot safer. Most of the electrical plugs are loose. The bathroom plug could be higher as the hair dryer plug wouldn’t fit. Also, I suggest the shower needs a safety bar. The couch was too firm. The toilet seat is loose and slides side to side. The toilet itself is not anchored to the floor properly. On the positive side, the master bedroom bed is very comfortable. Great Wi-Fi and cable. The cabin was very clean and the bathroom had lots of clean towels. The kitchen was also clean and functional. I hope this is helpful. The bottom line is that this cabin wasn’t worth the amount of money that we paid for this stay.

Our stay in the Gingerbread House was just what we were looking for and needed. Family time away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We went to share time together in a quiet setting and that's what we had. The Bears were the icing on the cake. Most of our time was spent at the cabin sitting out on the porch, catching up on time lost between our visits, and being on the lookout for the bears. It was perfect in so many ways. We definitely recommend The Gingerbread House to anyone that is looking for a great getaway.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in the gingerbread house. However, the cabin just wasn’t very clean. There was hair in the bathtub and bathroom before we even used it along with a piece of broken glass behind the bathroom door, dust on the walls, dirt and bugs on floor in corners, leftover food under couch. Also our phone chargers would not stay in the wall plug ins in the master bedroom. We did see bears everyday we were there except one. We enjoyed both decks and the hot tub. The pool was also nice. Would recommend more sitting room for a family in the living area upstairs as well. The couch didn’t really fit a family of 4 comfortably.

We are not the type to complain but this property needs some serious repairs. When we first walked in we could smell mold. After looking at the chimney on the second floor deck I could see why.it is deteriorating to the point water is seeping through. There are swarms of termites. We saw several centipedes inside and spiders. The picnic table outside is broken and rotten. Also the landscaping and pavers around the fire pit iare being washed down the hill.it was not properly cleaned.a lot of dust and spider webs.the mop bucket and mop was left in the kitchen. We had to go buy air fresheners to kill the for of the mold downstairs. We obviously paid way too much for a rental in this condition.it definitely needs serious repairs and maintenance.on the other hand we did see several bears. The beds are comfortable. And the kitchen is well stocked.

We loved staying at the cabin!! It is in a great location and close to all the places we wanted to go to. Great communication regarding what would be available to us and what we would need to bring as far as supplies. Definitely in an area where you will get to see bears up close ?.
