I wanted to leave a negative review to keep others away from this gem :) It was an amazing stay - we will be coming back.
I can't say enough about this place. It has it all! Hiking, fire pit, hammocks, wrap around deck, Elk in the yard, privacy, clean and the owner is very responsive. I highly recommend this home!
I could go on for pages and pages about everything that was great about our experience here, but the short answer is just a resounding Yes!. Miles of uninterrupted forest out the back door. We were greeted by grazing elk 40 feet away when we pulled up. Property is secluded, quiet, at the end of the road, but short drive back to town if you forget something. Brick is a great host. Attentive, quick response, down to earth. Like talking to a friend. We were as comfortable here as at our own house, and are already planning our next trip back. PS - Oh my, the stars!
We stayed here a week in the summer and really enjoyed the elk in the yard and neighborhood. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was very quiet.
Great property. Wooded and private. Cabin is spacious and perfect for families. Hiking right out the backdoor. Creeks and streams very close by. Highly recommend.
Beautiful views
The property is just as described and the host was great. If you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay with your family (dogs included) that feels remote and private but isn’t in the middle of no where, look no further. My children loved everything about our stay. We hiked in the forest, found geodes, played in the snow, laid in the hammocks, used the swing and play house and ventured out to see Water Wheel and Shoofly. We spent time inside as well by the fireplace, playing games, building puzzles and watching movies. It was exactly how we wanted to spend the long weekend away. Brick, the host was helpful and responsive. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Felt like home the minute we got there .
Our friends and family joined us at the house for Christmas and New Years, we had a great stay. Would definitely stay again in the future.
Nice property, comfortably sleeps 10
Great. No issues. Owner was easily accessible.
We absolutely loved this property. The owner was super communicative and easy to get in touch with. The property is beautiful, the house was perfect and we saw elk every day we were there. It was really amazing and there are so many geodes everywhere in the hills that my kids went geode hunting for hours and hours on end. We will absolutely be back!
Wife and I were looking for an escape from the city/heat and this was a perfect pick. Great house, great location, amenities were spot on and property owner was attentive plus responsive. I can be picky but this one is a no brainer (and we didn’t even use the upstairs which is awesome by itself!).
FEEL like we got what we paid for plus more. The home has so many different areas to explore and enjoy. The stars at night, the rain on the adjacent mountain, elk, javalina, the deck in the morning with coffee, throwing the ball off the deck and teaching my poodles a new game search and find, (that kept them occupied for 10 minutes or more). This home WILL not disappoint.
Accurate description, amazing host, quiet and beautiful. Very well stocked for all your needs. Kitchen and its accessories were impressive.
We had a wonderful time at this property. The house is large and clean and the property extremely spacious. Great hiking nearby and only about 22 minutes from food and stores. We saw tons of wildlife and our three girls had an amazing time exploring the area. Thank you for opening your home to us!
We loved the property! It was just perfect!
The owner Bert was great he answered every question I had made sure we had everything we needed. If you think you need to bring your own kitchen tools you don't need to everything you need is there to cook clean and all supplies for what ever is needed. My family will stay again in the future the pictures do not do this house justice.
We had an amazing time! The house is gorgeous and very well kept. We saw elk several times, which the kids loved. There are several beds, tables and also two hammocks for relaxing.
A very beautiful and well appointed home in the forest. A perfect place to enjoy the sounds of the forest, under starry skies, sitting on the deck. The owner Brick is very responsive, and provided great suggestions.
We had an amazing stay at this cabin! Brick was very fast in responding to any questions and concerns both before and during our visit. The cabin had everything you could want and more...in the kitchen, bathrooms, deck area, yard etc...it was all so well appointed! We will definitely try to stay here again!
We stayed here for several days on a vacation to the pines. Lots of great things to do in the area and just loved it. The cabin is absolutely amazing. Like living in luxury
The property exceeded expectations! The pictures do not do it justice. Every comfort needed was present. The wrap around porch was amazing as were the nearby hiking trails. We especially loved seeing a cow elk nursing her calf. Thank you for sharing your home away for home with us!
House was very nice and peaceful! Would love to stay again.
The cabin was beautiful, clean, comfortable and so peaceful! The dogs loved the backyard and we loved watching the Elk pass by in the early evenings! It's a great location with plenty to do and see! We hiked every day and saw the Salado Petroglyphs, Geode Hill, Water Wheel Falls, Ellison Creek Falls, and took some backcountry roads to have a picnic by Chase Creek. This cabin was the perfect place to come home to after a long day of exploring and we can't wait to go back!
I enjoyed staying over the weekend for Easter at this beautiful home. Well taken care of place, great communication with owners, they have the courtesy to have the home well stocked with mostly anything you can need and the outside area is just amazing and very peaceful if thats what you are looking for. I had a great time and maybe in the future I can rent this cabin again. Thank you.
This property is amazing. All the fine details have been thought of. I wish I could have stayed longer. The host is fantastic, considerate and very quick with communication. Highly recommend!
