Watch the weather DO NOT TRAVEL IN WINTER STORMS. Do this BEFORE YOU GO:
1. Download Utah's UDot app to view live road conditions with their weather cams. Select "layers" and then select "Snow plows" and "lane or road closures" You may zoom into Hwy 14 and view the live cameras.
2. Use Wunderground's website for weather zip code 84762
3. We are NOT responsible for getting you on or off the mountain or in and out of the cabin. Please take winter precautions seriously.
ONCE THE SNOW ARRIVES.....
In the WINTER Highway 14 may or may not have snow on it. The county plows do not plow at night and they start as early as possible to clear roads in the mornings. Once you arrive to the Village the drive to the cabin is on snow covered gravel roads. These roads are plowed but snowy roads may often be slippery in freezing conditions or covered with some inches of fresh snow. There may not be cell service from your provider in our area so please come prepared. You will ascend 8500 ft. Winter weather may vary on your journey.
4x4 or AWD is REQUIRED during winter months and we always suggest carrying chains. * If you feel you need chains put them on BEFORE ATTEMPTING the hills, put them on in a safe, flat, out of the way area. DO NOT BLOCK ROADS especially Movie Ranch / Meadow Ranch (it is a hill once past the church) as it is the only access to the community. Do not ask if your 2 wheel drive can make it the answer is NO.
SNOW REMOVAL: If it snows during your stay, your driveway will be blown out if there are 6" or more. The plow may only blow up to where your car is parked. Snow removal on your deck, to and around your car is your responsibility. There will be a shovel on the deck of the cabin. We are in line for snow plow AFTER the main roads, residents, and elders.
POWER OUTAGES: Power outages are rare but do happen. In the event of a power outage, please wait up to 3 hours as we rarely have power out longer than that. If you are concerned about the cabin not being warm enough during brief outages, please contact management for assistance.
Towing: (if a local guy with a machine might be available- most likely not)
$100 minimum *maybe more $ after dark. note: May NOT be available at all.
Please keep in mind if you arrive after dark on the Mt. most everything may be closed. Please plan ahead. This is a tiny village community without many winter amenities.
This info is not to discourage your winter adventure but to keep you informed so that you can make the best of your vacation. Please call us anytime to discuss your trip ahead of time so that we can make sure its most enjoyable!

We arrived on the 23rd of Dec. Then left on the 26th of Dec. It was a great Christmas away from all the hustle and bustle of town. The cabin was great, the beds were comfortable. Plenty of places to sit. Loved having a fireplace. The managers were great to work with, even through the holidays. Any issues were well taken care of. Thanks for the great stay.
Had the most wonderful time with our family during fall break. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. We just enjoyed the mountains and the fall colors, the lake is super close by and got some fishing in, played games watched movies and had fun being together. It was clean and comfortable. The best part was being able to bring the dog :). Already looking at staying here again when my son gets home from his mission.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin.
We loved our stay! Clean. Simple. Open house concept. No clutter and excess decorations. Perfect for families, especially with younger kiddos. We rolled in late. Though Google maps showed it right off the 14, across from duck Creek village, we missed it. The house blended in nicely in the trees. More accurate directions and a sign with the address clearly on it in the drive way would help.
Had a wonderful stay here as we explored Zion and Bryce (and more). Jacob was extremely responsive and this place was the perfect cozy respite after days of So. Utah adventures. Record snowfalls added to the awesomeness of the experience this time, but we’ll definitely be looking at a return trip to Duck Creek in nicer weather. Highly recommended! (Have a 4x4 vehicle and a positive attitude to get the most out of your trip!)
