House had everything we needed, views were amazing, overall great stay. Hosts were great, checked in to make sure we had what we needed. Would recommend to everyone.
I do not think I have ever enjoyed a vacation more than this one!! The house was wonderful and a deck that made every night perfect with my family!! This house had everything you could need. Hope to go back!
This is our second stay in this cabin. It’s a beautiful cabin with beautiful views. The cabin is well stocked with everything you need to feel right at home. We highly recommend a stay here!
We visited near the end of June and it was chilly and raining every day! (Who new NC was a temperate rain forest?!) Even though one of the reasons I rented the cabin was for the awesome view, it was very peaceful to be tucked into the clouds as well! And coming home to this beautiful cabin after a day of adventures (wet and cold) made it that much more enjoyable! The cabin makes you feel at home and has everything (and more!) that you’ll ever need! Sitting under the covered deck with a fire going and making s’mores at the end of a long day was my favorite part. Or was it sitting at the makeup table getting ready watching some of the mountains peak out from behind the clouds? Or maybe it was the open concept kitchen/living area where family memories were made? Everything was so beautiful I wouldn’t be able to pick just one favorite! We appreciate getting to spend time in this wonderful home and would definitely love to come back! You won’t be disappointed staying here!
One of the best properties we’ve stayed in, and we’ve stayed in quite a few. If you’re planning on cooking while staying there, you’re in for a treat. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, cookware, serving wear, spices and phenomenal appliances. Enjoy! We sure did.
We enjoyed our stay at this eclectic mountaintop property! A few of the highlights were the sunsets on the porch, accommodating kitchen, big wood burning fireplace inside, outdoor gas firepit, puzzles and the view! Each day kept getting better with our stay.
We had an awesome time at this cabin with a breathtaking view. The driving up was a little rough but totally worth it. Very spacious with everything you will ever need. It has definitely been one of the best places we have ever stayed at. The entire family loved it.
All great
Beautiful view. View from every window!! Loved the outdoor patio with gas firepit! Close to all the trails and waterfalls we wanted to see ! Love cashiers and the highlands! The only problems we had was understanding the thermostats! And the upstairs lacked hot water!!! Would definitely stay here again!!!! Very happy!!!!!
Such a gem in the mountains! A beautiful home that is both welcoming and comfortable. Gorgeous views!! Such a special place. We can’t wait to go back !!!
This house was a dream! There were ten of us, ranging in age from 11-84 years. The first-floor master was perfect for my elderly parents. All the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked—plenty of towels and linens for everyone. And the view!--My sister-in-law refers to it as the Swiss Family Robinson house. Sitting on the deck you feel as if you are nested in a treehouse. The view changes throughout the day as the clouds roll in and is always beautiful. We bought the Sapphire Valley amenity passes at a modest cost ($5 per person for 3 days and kids under 15 free) and enjoyed the lake, pools, and fitness center). We also enjoyed beautiful hikes and waterfalls in Gorges State Park and Pisgah National Forest. The grocery store is about a 15-minute drive, and there are several restaurant options nearby. All in all, it was a great trip and a wonderful house in which to spend the week! I would highly recommend this place.
The house and view are amazing. Well worth the windy road up the mountain.
What a fantastic cabin! Well appointed, incredible views, and a great location. We hope to return again.
The views from this home are absolutely breathtaking! It was incredibly well-appointed, too, with a generously stocked pantry and a truly fabulous kitchen. Hospitable little touches that made us feel welcome were found throughout the house. The beds were truly the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in, with great sheets and every variety of pillow you could need. There was a huge telescope in the master bedroom for star-gazing on the deck, which we enjoyed. Pat was extremely responsive when we texted her about a couple of very minor issues. Since the weather was phenomenal during our trip and we left windows open at night, it wasn’t an issue for us, but it should be noted that the only rooms with air conditioning are two upstairs bedrooms. The 12 minute drive up the mountain to get to the cabin is a one-lane, but paved, road with a LOT of switchbacks and without guardrails or a shoulder in many parts, but that isn’t uncommon for the mountains, just something to be aware of. We definitely wouldn’t drive it at night or in bad weather. Our only major complaint about the house is that we were told there would be sufficient WiFi for video streaming, which we needed/wanted during our trip for a number of reasons (schoolwork, online appointments, lazy nights watching Netflix). However, both the WiFi networks at this home had speeds of less than 0.5 mbps, which is too slow to stream video or even visit most websites (the average speed in the U.S. last year was 75-100 mbps). Verizon cell service was fairly good there, however, so if you don’t mind using your data plan, you can still email and visit some websites using your phone’s “hotspot”. For our particular set of needs, we would have booked a different property if we had been aware of this issue. But those who don’t need that would be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful or relaxing property to rent!
