Overall our stay was great. The location was perfect, secluded and private, large home on a great piece of land. We went on walked, played outside and in. The home was perfect size for our family of 6. The only issues we had were: 1. the kitchenware needs to be updated (pots, pans), we found it a bit difficult to cook. The coffee maker is also a bit outdated. 2. The woodburning stove/fireplace did not work 3. There was no propane in the grill, we had to go get a new tank 4. WIFI was a struggle when trying to stream movies or use a laptop Overall the stay was fantastic, we would definitely consider going back.
The house accommodated our group of 15 however you cannot count the sofa bed in the loft as a bed. The springs and thinness of the mattress make it unsleepable. Do not count on the WiFi as it went out on our second day. The managers never responded to our call. The garbage cans were full from the previous party so I had to buy hefty bags for our stay. The other beds were very comfortable and the place is very clean. Overall we had a great time.
We enjoyed our stay and would highly reccomend this place to anyone looking for a nice get away.
The cabin is beautiful. It's very spacious. The bedrooms are all big. The hot tub was nice and warm and clean. The kitchen drawers are all labeled for easy finds. They had everything we needed to use to cook the food we brought for our stay. Our only disappointment is the lake. Even though the owner mentions the lake being low due to drier summer's. I wish we knew there really wasn't a lake. It was more like a 1 foot wide stream. We brought fishing polls and were excited to use the lake out back. The lake picture was the biggest selling points for us to rent this cabin. I believe an updated picture of what the lake looks like would have been nice at least then we would know what to expect.
Property was very nice, had everything you could need in the kitchen and was big enough to accommodate lots of kids of all ages. Especially impressed with the kid friendliness for younger kids. No water in the lake, but not surprised with our lack of water this summer. Would stay again.
Property advertisement indicates lake access, while owner knows there is no lake access. Advertisements of amenities are false, kayaks are old and disgustingly dirty with no access to lake for fishing or water sports. Property has a large bee nest from non-maintained landscaping. It is not safe to sit outside. Fans and blinds do not work, so property gets really hot. Neighborhood is not safe to go for a walk in! Hot tub looks old and dirty owners answer was it is difficult to replace parts because he does not want to pay a professional to replace them. Pool table is not full size and pool sticks all have broken tips. No HVAC in side room. Home is over priced!
Sadly, the property did not have water working in a bathroom, or outside faucet. The neighbor was hostile and would not allow our only access to the lake, along her property line. The neighborhood was sketchy. We stayed only one night and tried to get a refund on remaining nights, but to no avail.
I reserved a cabin by a lake. I paid a little more for the convenience of being right on the lake since my elderly in laws were joining us. The owner of the property called me the week before our stay and said the level of the lake was a little low due to the lack of snow the prior winter. When we arrived, there was a 3 inch stream of water In the lake! I sent the owner several texts about the lake and a picture and I was told there was nothing he could do about Mother Nature. I told him that I was given inaccurate information about the lake. I still have not heard back from him. We will not be staying there again. There were also several issues with the cabin as well. The spa was a mess and could not be cleaned until halfway through our stay. I had to buy/change the air filter for the A/C unit. There were several loose boards on the deck and near the spa. I addressed this with the owner and he apologized for the “unfortunate events.” I read the guest book and it looked like previous guests weren’t too happy with the cabin either. Lesson learned. I have stayed In several VRBO’s across the country, but I have never experienced this!
While the photos look amazing, the house is in VERY rough condition. Upon arrival we were greeted with 2 overly stuffed trash bins that had not been picked up and had trash piled in around them - that must have been our warning sign. Upon entry, it was immediately clear this house has been heavily abused for years with no maintenance. The front patio has loose boards and screws up to 1/2 inch sticking up in places which were like little land mines that managed to leave 3 feet with some painful memories. The gate to the dock was broken, forcing us to rig it with rope so children could at least be delayed in getting to the water. Multiple door handles had previously been duck taped on and became loose or completely came off - as well as a shower handle upstairs. The AC took some time to get going and when it did, a plume of dust came out of the air filter that looked like it was from the early 90’s. And the amazing front windows that look out on to the water have broken blinds so there’s no blocking the sun. The garage, although prepped with great kayaks and a paddle boat, was in complete disarray - trash throughout and mud a plenty. These were the major structural/maintenance issues... now onto the cleanliness. The kitchen floor managed to trap a few sandals upon entry as it was really sticky everywhere, we found multiple piles of mice droppings in drawers, dirty dishes in the cabinets and a dirty fridge. We had to scrub it before even putting anything away. The towels provided were close to becoming rags and did not smell as though they had been washed. I could go on and on but I think this relays the majority of it. We had 2 families stay for 4 nights and while the lake and location provided lots of entertainment, the house is just not as advertised or in safe enough condition for any groups other than a van full of frat boys looking to throw down some brews and catch a catfish or two. On a positive note, the check in process was very easy and the response time to our initial questions was great. We had 16 family members ranging in age from 10 months to 65 years and I’d like to consider us pretty easy going - we all camp, fish, hike and have no problem sleeping in rough conditions, but not when paying a substantial amount for the lodging.
The house was big and beautiful! The view was amazing! There were a couple things that were a downer such as no clean sheets, few lights were out, and the tv systems were super outdated. We tried a couple times to get in touch with the property managers and got ZERO response... Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. 8/10 recommend!
