Beautiful house that was rented during renovations that resulted in many inconveniences, too much to list. Property not properly cleaned and dangerous construction area not secured and hazardous for small children. Gas leak inside property was dealt with the same urgency of a running toilet. The local customer service is terrible. If renting make sure to ask if renovations are done and area around hot tub is cleaned from construction debris and cigarette butts from construction workers. Truly a pity, because if properly managed it is in deed a nice property!
The house is as grand as it appears in photos on the outside. Inside, is a different story. There were cobwebs all throughout the property, and the floor clearly had not been mopped in some time. We made a trip to the local Walmart and bought cleaning supplies to clean before we could relax. It took more than a few hours for customer service to respond to my text message, we could not get into the house initially, but someone left the kitchen door unlocked, we found it and were able to get in. When I was finally contacted, by customer service, it was after midnight. This is a beautiful space to relax, I just wish I wasn't charged a leaning fee to clean myself.
Very nice decorative cabin inside and out. We got blue ridge an hour early so I asked if we could check in early but was told housekeeping would text me when they were done. We didn’t receive a text but arrived at the cabin around 4:15. We were met at the door by dead wasp(over 20). When we entered the cabin very beautiful decor and updated appliances. We tour the cabin and found crumbs on floor, countertops and kitchen island. We also saw several spiders and spiderwebs. The new utensils were placed in the cabinets and drawers without the cabinets and drawers being cleaned, mainly dust from newly installed cabinets. They had signs on all 3 jetted tubs saying please don’t use. The water pressure was very low in all 3 bathrooms. We also had problems with the lights circuit breaker kept shutting off. The 2 Sockets near the stove wasn’t working nor was the microwave working. We had to find the breaker and flip it. Earlier Ms Melissa came and told us that there wasn’t any housekeepers available so she brought us some cleaning supplies and she offered to help us clean but we said no to her cause she was alone. Melissa told us that the cleaning fee would be refunded but I feel it should’ve been more refunded cause it was not a cabin that wasn’t guest ready to be rented. We go often to cabins and this was the most beautiful cabin but the worst for cleanliness and comfort. Also the entire downstairs level was bolted and couldn’t be used. Thanks Melissa for doing all u can. The only should make sure this cabin is 100% cleaned and exterminated. I know you will see some pest because it’s a wood cabin but this was unacceptable .
While our family enjoyed this cabin rental as a whole, with fabulous views and a huge space and kitchen/amenities, there were some significant issues that we were not happy with. 1. The kitchen had several dirty dishes that were put away dirty, as a result we had to wash all things before use....coffee still in cups ....food on plates....utensils and silverware very dirty along with glassware. 2. The microwave was unusable until we had to pry out the control panel that was stuck closed. (Customer Service told us to reset the breaker which obviously didn't help a stuck panel that wouldn't open). 3. Anything plugged into the kitchen wall would immediately trip a breaker (no wonder why they were quick to suggest that) - Toaster or coffee maker. There was even a sign saying don't run disposal and Dishwasher at the same time. Whomever did the electrical for the house definitely didn't plan well for loads or wire appropriately. 4. Access to 3rd floor was restricted to ONLY a very narrow circular staircase that multiple guests refused to use, however there was an elevator that was locked out for guests to use. Very frustrating that a majority of my guests couldn't go up to see the views from the top deck. 5. The Hot Tub had the circuit breaker turned off with stagnant water that should have been on and able to use. 6. None of the decks had seating except for the main deck, so they were only usable (if you could get to them) if you brought chairs inside/up the stairs, and out on your deck. 7. HOT WATER - NON Existent!!!!! This was the worst of all the issues in that you would have to run hot water for a good 5 minutes or more on the various levels and then would not maintain temperature for long. Not sure if it's a tankless system or a small unit, but it didn't work well. This may have been the reason for dirty dishes. Overall, the facility has great potential but really needs some serious attention to key things like Hot water and electrical issues. Cleaning was a miss but was only dishes....the rest of the house was very clean. Good luck with future rental as we left it cleaner in the kitchen than we got it, and we reset the breakers and turned on the hot tub but refused to get into it due to water being pretty bad turned off for likely awhile.
Amazing view and house
We arrived and were greated by two of the property's employees who were kind, informative of area attractions, and professional! After unpacking our belongings, we began to explore this magnificant dwelling that was to be our home for the next three days. Our party consisted of an 80-year-old Air Force veteran and wife, two 70-year-old Navy vets, two 55+ teachers, and one 68-year-old professional businessman. So you can see, this is a credible, not rowdy group. Trying to fix a meal became very complicated: breakers in kitchen continued to blow causing loss of power throughout the area. The dishwasher, disposal were not working, along with the microwave that only worked when we could keep the breaker reset. It was a rainy weekend, no problem when you are in a palace, right! The decks all leaked coming through the outside lighting fixtures and ceiling. Upon inspection, the uppermost deck held water like a pool which leaked to the next deck, which leaked to the main deck. The boards are warping and the fixtures blew due to water. The sheetrock in the upstairs bedroom showed damage from rain as well. All members of our party suffered from sneezing, due to the content of construction dust in the air. But the worst thing occurred on the last night of our stay when our friend, a 78-year-old retired Catholic priest came to say Mass. He delivered a beautiful Mass with the lovely background provided by the area. After the service, we had a good dinner. When he tried to skoot his chair back to get-up from the dinner table, the back legs collapsed and he fell straight back! Fortunately, he was not injured badly. However, that was the final straw for our not so restful vacation. We left the next morning, clothing covered with dust, disappointed, and not well rested. Please finish the construction, check all systems, and make sure your guest will find a wonderful retreat before you allow other guests to stay.
