Lower Hay Hideaway on the Whitefish Chain

We had the most wonderful trip here! Truly we couldn't have asked for a better house and experience. Everything was top notch and we will absolutely be booking again. Everything was extremely clean and the house had everything we needed. Thank you so much for such a wonderful trip!

The cabin was amazing! Furnishings and appliances were modern and looked brand new! We had 6 adults, a toddler and an infant and it was a little on the smaller side with the layout but we had plenty of room. The one bedroom was a little small but we were still able to put the pack n play up. The only suggestions I have are to provide more toilet paper, have a small vacuum available and to put a comfortable chair in the lower level area. One of the grand kids was fussy and she did not have a chair to sit in and hold him unless she utilized the upper level. The location and lake were both wonderful and we had fun boating, fishing and playing in the water. We shopped in Nisswa and had an amazing dinner at Norway Ridge! Thank you so much for letting us rent your beautiful place! We would love to come back!

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views and the cozy, well-appointed interior. The cabin was spotless, fully equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We especially loved the open concept, lake/dock access, and patio for bonfires. The location was ideal—secluded enough for peace and quiet, but close enough to enjoy nearby attractions. The hosts were incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We can't wait to come back and would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for the perfect retreat!

Property is really great! It is really spacious and has all the right amenities. It had plenty of space and activities for our family of four. The sunsets with the campfire were truly memorable.

The perfect Minnesota Up North cabin, elevated! This property is cozy yet modern and well appointed. The large kitchen island anchored our big family breakfasts, the deck and patio with gas grill and firepit were perfect for dinner and sunset smores. Hay Lake is clean and deep and connected to the Crosslake Chain which has great fishing and family restaurants to visit. You can boat to Manhattan Beach Lodge or Moonlight Bay for drinks and a meal or just cruise and explore all the different lakes. You can hike or even camp overnight at the Rolle Johnson Natural & Recreational Area which is an island just outside the Hay Lake channel on Upper Whitefish Lake. The one rainy day during our stay provided an excuse for us to get off of the lake for the short drive to Nisswa for pizza at Rafferty's and hard ice cream at The Chocolate Ox, both should be on the short list of places to visit. I had a few questions and the host responded promptly and cheerfully, very pleasant to work with. Only 2.5 hours from the Twin Cities metro, I can't recommend this cabin more highly, it has it all. Location and amenities on a beautiful chain of lakes.

This place was wonderful! Beautifully renovated and comfortable. The location is perfect with plenty of privacy and access to all the fun the White Fish Chain has to offer! We will definitely be back!

This experience was great. The owners were professional, kind, and responsive. Although it was just two of us, this cabin could accommodate many more, and it was clean, well appointed, and easy to use the amenities. Loved that it was quite private, and the mornings on the lake were gorgeous. Would recommend.

This is very beautiful location. The view from the living room or bedroom is breath taken. Our first day, sitting in the living room, we actually saw a bald eagle fly by the window. It was so cool. The property is very quit and cozy. Hardly saw or heard neighbors. The check in and check out was very smooth and easy. I'm really looking forward to renting from Matt again.

Oh my God, where do I begin? The property is so freshly renovated it feels like staying in a parade of homes, but for a cabin. The views are made greater by the elevation difference between the cabin and the lake. You really feel perched up above like a king on a hill, not to mention the place is on a freaking island. You have to cross over a little bridge to get to the property. It’s beautiful quiet south, facing breezy and everything you would want in a cabin. We went into Nisswa for dinner just a few minutes away and enjoyed bike rides on country roads , the host was exceptionally kind and answered questions quickly it was a perfect experience 10 out of 10
