Quiet.....clean
We loved the rustic cabin. The sun/game room had a smoke smell to it. Told property management and they will do a deep cleaning. Otherwise stay was very quiet and relaxing. Loved the hot tub and then fireplace. Only wish we had a longer stay.
We loved the property and had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Enjoyed the campfire, hot tub, foosball, and seclusion. No problems whatsoever!
The quietness was great,
We had an excellent experience! I have nothing at all to complain about! Everything was clean and management was very prompt and responsive!! 10/10 recommend!!
Normally, I’m a very easy person to please, however, I feel like I was deceived when renting this cabin. Looking at the photos, it appears that the property is secluded. Upon arriving, there were other neighboring cabins within rock throwing distance. Another thing I noticed right off when arriving is the property outside is not maintained well at all. There were branches and leaves all over the place making it hard to walk the yard. It said online there was parking for three vehicles. We were lucky to fit two vehicles in the drive. I was hoping once I entered the home that it would be better, but sadly it wasn’t. The furniture has stains on it, every table in the cabin is wobbly and falling apart. Someone had removed the only smoke alarm downstairs which is a big deal for me, seeing as my career is in EMS and I have worked side by side with the fire departments for years and have ran massive fires. There was only one smoke alarm upstairs in the far corner which made me worry if the place caught fire if me and my family would even have enough warning to make it out in time. Th downstairs bathroom shower doesn’t work at all…only the tub. The upstairs bathroom is fine for a child, but if you’re an adult using the bathroom, the sink practically sits in your lap, and there is no room whatsoever to get dressed inside unless you dress inside the shower itself. The hot water worked great though. The bedding in the entire cabin smelled musty like it hadn’t been washed so I took it upon myself to launder them all. As I pulled the pillowcases off, I was mortified at the yellow stains on them. I could barely fit the comforters inside the provided washing machine, which therefore made me question if they had ever been laundered or laundered regularly. Both upstairs mattresses were extremely uncomfortable and painful to sleep on. They were both innerspring mattresses and very worn out. Even my young children noticed how uncomfortable they were and cried having to sleep on them. If it bothers a child’s back, you know it does far worse for an adult. The pinball machine was out of order. The pool table is fine for young children or people with small hands, but if you’re a normal sized adult, you can barely retrieve the balls from the pockets because the holes are so small. The hot tub was extremely over chlorinated. The deck out back overlooking the creek would have been amazing had some landscaping been done and all the trees were cleared so you could actually sit and see the creek to enjoy it. Upstairs you have to be careful because there are stray nails poking through the bathroom door that could cause a problem if you accidentally poked yourself on it. I was absolutely shocked that the bulk of the reviews were not at all how the cabin and the property actually is. When people pay to vacation, they expect honest reviews. The photos provided of the property must have been a long time ago when the place was actually landscaped. That is not at all how the property is now. The provided dishes were cheap (melamine plates, dollar store plastic cups, and cookware that had no nonstick coating on it so all the food stuck to the bottom). The front porch light didn’t work at all which made it extremely hard when entering the property at night. The screen to the front door was ripped so you couldn’t leave the door open or flies and bugs would get in. I would have called to cancel, but seeing as how I had paid to rent the place only two days before, there was a non refundable policy in place. Tons of dust overtakes the place, especially on the tv stand in the living room, the decor above the kitchen cabinets, and the pictures and decor hanging on the walls. My family and I all woke up each morning coughing and had trouble with our sinuses the entire stay. The dvd had zero sound. My stepfather tried to figure out the speakers, but after sitting in the floor for nearly an hour, he finally gave up. The futon in the den is hard as a rock. I wouldn’t advise...
The cabin definitely has an old timey feel to it and reminds you of how your grandparent’s house smells on the inside. The yard is very unkept. The bushes are grown up in front of the cabin and there’s tons of poison ivy and oak in the backyard. Don’t plan to get in the creek because the embankment is at least 8 feet from it. The futon in the game room was covered in dog hair. The water hose was running when we arrived. We didn’t use the hot tub. It’s a cute and cozy place if you like the old timey, woodsy, bugs everywhere outside feel.
I will not stay here again. Couldn’t get in upon arrival, not clean, need a tv in master
This was a very cute cabin. The view out back is beautiful and the view from the hot tub is like a piece of heaven. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it could use a little maintenance. The screen on the front door is completely ripped, the smoke alarm upstairs was ripped off and the upstairs bathroom leaks to the floor beneath it.
The pics provided are very deceiving. The cabin is Much smaller than it appears in the pics. The outside is nowhere near as nice and kept as shown. The creek is around 10 ft below the very small detached deck and there is no access. The cabin was fairly clean other than the rug in the living room smelling like dog urine. Overall, the cabin and furniture need a few updates, the pics need updating and the cabin (inside and out) needs a deep clean. On a positive note, it is in a convenient location and the roads are in good shape.
This house was perfectly rustic for us! We loved the outdoors surrounding us. There is a cabin on either side, but it still seemed private enough. The drive to down town Blue Ridge was about 20 min and easy to get to. Also close to Mercier apple orchards which is amazing this time of year! I loved that Wal-Mart was close and easy to get to for the things we decided we needed and didnt have. We forgot our marshmallow roasting sticks, so maybe someone else can use and enjoy them. Loved our stay here, can't wait to book another trip!!
My family and I wanted a last weekend away before school started and I see why this cabin was still available last minute. The pics are very misleading, the creek is inaccessible as stated by other reviews but it was the interior of the cabin that was so disappointing. Broken air conditioning not addressed the entire stay kept my family out of the game room / dining area. Broken plastic chairs around the fire pit were not only unusable but a hazard. The living room furniture is so old and broken down it was uncomfortable. Sticky utensils and spices in the kitchen, dusty curtains, cobwebs and tape left on the walls from party decorations, etc. This property has so much potential it is a shame to see this level of neglect. *They contacted us about our inquiry on AC after checkout.
Showed up at 9:30 pm to a door wide open. Unsettling to say the least. Beds were slept in and animals were in the beds....towels and linens were thrown on the floors. The baths were not cleaned and hairs all in the showers still. Dirty, dirty kitchen and floors really dirty. We washed our own bed linens to have a clean bed to sleep in. No one could come until the next morning. Showed up at 10 ish.....she was very apologetic and nice. Her person quit and didn't tell anyone. She made it right. We were gifted our cleaning fee and one night back, or so they say! We will see if it shows up!!!!
We had so much fun just relaxing and hanging out at the cabin! My husband and father-n-law enjoyed fishing! The cabin was clean and we had to call them about a small leak we found to let them know and they was on it to get it taken care of. We did the late checkout and that was nice not having to rush that morning!
The Cabin is easy to access, well-supplied, very comfortable, cozy, and relaxing. The kitchen is well-stocked with brand-spanking new pots and pans and a great selection of baking stuff and utensils, along with a few standard herbs/spices, etc. Beds and furniture were extremely comfortable. There was no grill when we were there, but we weren't planning on using it anyway. The creek is beautiful and right in the backyard -- it is a VERY steep approach but there are knotted ropes leading down the bank for stability. There is not a whole lot of parking (two cars seems about the max), but it's not a huge place so it should be more than sufficient!
