Nice private home away from the crowds but no more than an hours drive to so many things to do. We had fun challenging each other in the arcade games and at the pool table. Relaxing in the hot tub at the end of a ling day of sightseeing and shopping was the perfect ending of a great day. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back.
Wonderful weekend! Great property! Wonderful, clean, well appointed cabin. The only heads up I would give is the wifi and cell service is VERY slow there. Not a show stopper at all, but I would recommend NOT planning on working remotely there if you rely on video conferencing or heavy internet access.
We certainly enjoyed our time at Lost in Bearadise! We had a chance to enjoy both sides of the family during Christmas! THANKS to Exclusive Mountain Properties and the wonderful staff for making this possible. The home was very clean and had everything we needed along with a nice big hot tub, pool table, a Pac-Man machine and a wonderful fire pit! We will certainly be back!
This was a fantastic getaway! The ammenities were wonderful. We enjoyed the hot tub, the gas fire pit, the actual fire pit, the pool table and Pacman game, the gas grill, the space, the fact that each had their own bathroom. The deck was spacious, and loved that there we could look at the stars while in the hot tub. Being surrounded by trees made it feel very secluded. We wanted to watch a movie one night and the wifi wasn't strong enough to stream it, but that's to be expected in the mountains and overall we were fine with limited technology. We loved our stay here and though it was quite a trek to get to anywhere else, there really wasn't anywhere else to be with a place like this.
very clean cabin with nicer furnishings than most cabins we have stayed at.
We had a wonderful time at this location! We would love to go back again! My kids weren’t loving the lack of stronger internet, but honestly it was great to really unplug and we had a great time! Everyone put their phones down and we just enjoyed our time! Although we didn’t see it,we heard it (we think it got on the deck - we heard some noises then the Bear groan) once we turned more lights on, I’m sure we scared it…..but yes, the Bears are there! Our 4 sons loved it and the area is beautiful! It makes us want to buy a spot up there and VRBO ourselves!
We enjoyed our stay. Close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and other attractions. We will come back here again soon. Felt safe here. Clean and tidy too. Thank you!
The good: - The house is in a gated community about half an hour away from Lake Lure and has a pool table, hot tub, and PacMan game. - It has a beautiful view off the back porch. The bad: - The hot tub had sand and dirt in the bottom. It felt very grimey and smelled unlike other hot tubs that had the proper combination of chemicals in them. - The faucet for the tub on the main floor leaks, and being in the quiet woods, in the middle of the night, the whole house could hear the drip... drip... drip... We had to use a towel to dampen the sound. -The GFI outlets in both the master bedroom and the kitchen tripped from normal usage. If a whole section of things don't appear to work, double check those outlets. - The internet is essentially unusable. The welcome packet states that the internet is not for streaming or gaming, but for guests who need to work. After a speed test, the internet is 2Mb/2Mb. With the speeds needed today, this is akin to dial up internet. I was unable to work when I needed to with those speeds, as my job requires 10Mb/10Mb, which is a low-end speed even for HughesNet, to work properly. There are Ring cams and a security system at this house that must require more speed to function, so the management company and/or owners are likely limiting guests to such a slow speed to conserve speed for their needs. - There is very minor insulation in walls/floors here. A conversation had at a normal volume on the main floor could easily be heard downstairs and in the upstairs in the master bedroom. No one watched TV in their rooms for fear of keeping everyone else up. We've stayed in other log homes in the area, so we expected a bit of this, but this was by far the worst we've experienced. - The hiking trails was a single path from the back of the house that led to the road about 100 yards in. This was a selling point for us on the rental, and were quite disappointed that is all it entailed. - Be prepared to bring all of your own day to day supplies. There was a single roll of 1 ply toilet paper per bathroom, one trash bag, and very minimal other supplies. - The grill itself was in good condition, better than most places we've stayed, but the grill brush was old and unusable, and the grease trap was overflowing when we arrived. All in all, for what accounts to a significant amount after all the cleaning fees, though you do most of it lest you be willing to pay additional fees for cleanup, are applied, we expected more.
Cabin was clean and equipped with everything we needed really enjoyed our stay
I'm a single mom of 2 daughters. I work 2 jobs and save every penny I to be able to afford to make memories with my family. This is the 2nd year I have taken my 2 kids, my niece, my bonus daughter and my mother on vacation. We loved every minute of this experience. Thanks you so much!
