RECOMMENDATIONS AND SOME THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA
- Recommendation- For top eateries and attraction we recommend booking early as many places get sold out. Restaurants are especially difficult as this area has a shortage of wait-staff.
- Harper Brothers- They are across the street. They also have a fantastic store that serves Starbucks coffee and desserts.
- See Amazing Views and/or Ride a Horse- The Harp Brothers also have the Hawk Skylift. Included at the top is a viewing deck with free water, Moonpies (a common theme), rocking chairs and games. You can also ride a horse...at the bottom of course. Both are located at the red barn behind their large store.
- Do a Tennessee Moonshine tasting session at the Tennessee Shine Co- Only 3 minutes away. Moonshine and Moonpies.
- Axe throwing and Beer What could go wrong These are two highly rated Axe throwing places that both also serve craft beer and food. They are both in Pigeon Forge. Country Road Axe Co or Axe House
- Drive Through the Smoky Mountain Park. The entrance is only 8 minutes away.
- Drive Through Cades Cove Scenic Loop. It is 25 minutes away and 11 miles long with amazing views. Try to go early as it does get crowded.
- See a Waterfall- Laurel Water fall is 10 minutes away. A short hike gets you to the waterfall.
- Go Rafting- Townsend has several rafting companies. 9 minutes away. River Rat Rafting is the closest but there are many good ones.
- See a Smoky Mountain top 10 View- Look Rock is 30 minutes away.
- Get some good Southern Cooking- Elvira's Southern Cafe- Across the street offering Southern eats like pork chops & hamburger steak.
- More Food- If you head towards Pigeon Forge and go just past the Hillbilly Cafe, they set-up some excellent food trucks (typically Weekend Only).
- Zip Lining- Want to try It's only 10 minutes away at Wears Valley Ziplining. If you're willing to travel a bit further try the highly rated ClimbWorks.

Plenty of room and just far enough away from the craziness of Gatlinburg and PF. We would return.

Great cabin, beautiful setting. Little loud as it’s very close to the road. Hot tub was great after all the walking/hiking. Ran out of time to do a lot of what we wanted to but the cabin was so close to everything which was really nice. Would definitely recommend staying!

This place was awesome! So close to everything! The view from the front porch, whether morning or evening, was just spectacular! We walked to the ice cream parlor and had ice cream one night, we shopped at all the little shops nearby. Dollywood (we have passes)is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays so we went to the pool on those days and it was just amazing! Just right for the grandbabies and my older children. One evening while on the porch a bear just wandered through the yard! The grandbabies had a fit over that! It never bothered us, just moseyed thru. We also did day passes at WonderWorks and magi quest on Tuesdays and Thursdays when Dollywood was closed. We would go when they opened, go back to the cabin for lunch swim at the pool for a while, then head right back to use the day passes again. It was so convenient being only 28 minutes from this cabin. And there's a Kroger and a Walmart not hardly 30 minutes! It's definitely in the greatest location and so far into the country that it was a little slice of heaven! Sometimes you can hear the traffic but, The greenery was just so lush and full that you couldn't even see the road. Me the kids and the grandbabies lived on the porch while we were there. I can't wait to go back! It was like visiting my grandparents .It definitely made me nostalgic. Having a full kitchen was such a blessing! We made dinner every night and ate at the table. We got into phase 10 matches and Uno! We even roasted marshmallows in the fireplace.

The cabin did not disappoint. Spacious enough for our family of 7, plus 2 smaller dogs. Located close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, we were able to explore both locations within a short driving distance. River access was within an eight minute drive. Several restaurants and shops minutes down the road. Quiet location, clean cabin, and great communication from the host. Check in and out couldn't have been any easier. Our visit included several new experiences, to include a day in Dollywood, visiting The Lost Sea Adventure cavern, riding a mountain coaster at Goats on the Roof, and seeing a great view of the Tennessee mountains at Gatlinburg Skypark.

This place is much smaller than the impression on website. Furniture and place were very outdated. Musty odor when we arrived. The back porch needed a quick use of a blower to get dust, leaves and debris cleaned up. The cabin is 50 yds from the main highway, so you hear cars, trucks and motorcycles all day and night. It is a duplex and even though the neighbors were not being very loud, you could hear them, especially from the main bedroom. You also can’t really go for a walk in the woods by the cabin, the highway is right there. So if you want a cabin right by the main highway, close to pigeon forge,, close to restaurant and other activities, stay here, otherwise don’t. We won’t again.

Our most recent trip to Tennessee was filled with so many ups and downs. This cabin was definitely an up! Beautiful place. Coffee on the porch in the morning, wine at night… perfect. My dogs were even able to settle in on the first night. That doesn’t happen often. The host was amazing and so responsive. All other hosts I’ve used have paled in comparison. Thank you!

When we first arrived it was 90 degrees out and the a/c would not turn on. I messaged the host and he immediately sent out someone to fix the broken wires in the thermostat. He was very professional and fixed this problem right away. Without even asking he refunded us $50! It started out as a stressful experience, but the host made it so much better and did the right thing. Highly recommended.
