At Lake Junaluska, there are many activities and amenities for you to enjoy.
In the summer, the Olympic size pool is open and the pool is built to give you the illusion that you are actually swimming in the lake! Kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats can be rented in the summer from the aquatic center. Pickle ball, shuffleboard, mini golf, basketball, volley ball and tennis are also great activities at Lake Junaluska.
Fishing is permitted with the proper fishing license. There is a public boat launch. Electric motors or paddles must be used on the lake...no gas powered boats or personal watercraft. Several docks are located around the lake for your fishing pleasure. The playground is open year round and is an awesome place for children to play and frolic. There are also covered picnic tables. There is a paved 2.6 mile walking/running path that encircles the 200 acre lake. The views of the mountains are stunning. Enjoy viewing the ducks and swans along the way! This path is great for strollers too. You will want to take your camera along to snap some pictures of the lake and mountains. The Rose Walk is a must see at Lake Junaluska. It is a portion of the trail around the lake and there are numerous rose bushes with a rainbow of color. Don't forget to 'stop and smell the roses'.
The Lake Junaluska golf course is just 5 minutes away. Enjoy the 4 seasons of the Smoky Mountains!
Summer-fishing, golf, tennis, hiking, biking, mini golf, boating, horseback riding, rafting, tubing
Autumn-apple picking, Apple Festival in Waynesville, leaf peeping at mountains painted with yellow, gold and orange, hiking, photo opportunities.

In addition, we also have a cabin right next door to this one. Junaluska Cabin can be viewed at property number 1724993. Great arrangement for families traveling together!!
Great cabin with access to everything we wanted to do. Well stocked and clean!
Very clean and cute bungalow.
house was clean and comfortable. great location, overall A+++
The home was very clean and nice. Great location too.
This was just a friends trip to the mountains. Had a nice time.
We enjoyed our stay at Cokesbury Cottage so much! We only had 4 adults and 2 children, but there was room for quite a few more if we had needed the space. The kitchen is well equipped, we had plenty of room for our 2 cars, we walked to the lake, and we loved the rocking chair porch. We would definitely stay here again!
This historic, real log home was great for our family of 9. It is in walking distance of beautiful Lake Junaluska with its walking path. The big front porch was a favorite place for us to sit in the rockers and drink coffee in the morning and play cards in the evening. The yard was full of flowers and there was a great grassy area across the lane that the kids loved playing in. The kitchen worked well for cooking meals. This home had everything I look for in a vacation rental.
This is our 2nd time staying at the Cokesbury Cabin at Lake Junaluska. There were 6 adults and 4 children and the cabin was spacious and very comfortable. The oven is my arch nemesis as it seems to take forever to cook food but even with that, I would stay there again! Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our time at this location which was within walking distance of the lake and Stuart Auditorium. Three families easily shared the space with ample room for all. The property was clean and well supplied. The owners were easy to communicate with. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
There were many of us in town for a wedding and this house was perfectly suited for a large family. Very clean and maintained. My nieces said they loved it
The versatility of the bedrooms worked well. The spacious, well stocked kitchen made meal preparations a breeze. We loved sitting on the front porch to relax.
We loved our stay. It was even more special when my 86 year old mom realized she had been in the cabin years ago when it was in its original location as a bookstore. The only minor issue we had was not being able to get the Keurig clean so we went out and bought a coffee maker to use. I would highly recommend this cabin as we would defintley stay here again.
We had a wonderful extended family Thanksgiving at the property. There were 7 of us and only 2 issues arose. There was not enough hot water even when we took limited time showers and there was not sufficient, comfortable seating for 7 people in the living room.
This is a great place to stay for an event at Lake J! Super convenient to the auditorium and fully equipped for a nice stay. The hosts are great and very responsive to questions and were at the ready to help us. Would stay here again for sure!
Charming cabin in a great location!
Lots of beds and perfect for a weekend away.
The weekend in the cabin was great! Plenty of room! Sitting on the front porch was so relaxing! Can’t wait to go back!
This was my first experience with VRBO. I am pleased that I had no unpleasant surprises in the rental process, the property or the communications with the managers. The home exceeded my expectations. Our entire group was happy with the accommodations and its lovely location. We had a wonderful stay and left with joyful memories.
Nice, clean property. Close enough to visit several attractions or explore the area. The house is nice and quiet and the hostess is ready and available to assist with any questions or concerns. Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable, we each had a bathroom, the kitchen was well stocked, and the cabin is in a beautiful, quiet, convenient location. We hope to come back!
We loved the cabin. The flowers out in front and the por ch with the rocking chairs was the favorite part. We were thankful for the overhead fans on the porch so we could sit outside even though it was hot. The only thing that would be helpful if we came again would be safety shower bars. We had a hard time getting in and out of the shower and feeling safe while getting a shower. We could not use the claw foot tub it was way to high to get in and out. So it made it a little difficult for the 6 of us to schedule shower times!!
We came with 4 of our grandchildren to introduce them to Lake Junaluska and they LOVED the cabin- especially all the bunk bed options and the front porch where we played so many games and rocked and read books each day! The location made it so easy to walk down to get ice cream cones and go to the library and book store/gift shop. We cannot wait to return!!
This was our second time to stay at our cabin. We felt like we were at home from the moment we arrived.
Very nice place, convenient, enjoyed our stay
We had a great time
Close to the lake! Quiet area. Plenty of bathrooms and towels, blankets, pillows. Kitchen has just about anything you’d possibly need
This property was as described, the owners were easy to communicate with (and prompt to respond), and very convenient to Lake Junaluska walking trails and meeting locations. It was great for our extended family to stay together. We enjoyed learning about the history of the building, sitting on the porch, and walking around the lake. Thank you for sharing this wonderful cottage with visitors to the area!
We absolutely loved the front porch. It was AMAZING. The rocking chairs were great! The inside of the cabin gave all of us a clean, comfortable bed. We had a little confusion figuring out it is on a one-way street, but after that first time, we were all good! The hike around the lake was extremely nice. We'd definitely stay again!
Loved the history connected with this cabin. Owners were terrific.
