Lavish Cabin*Downtown Gatlinburg!*Home Theater*Pool Table

Our family had a great stay at this beautiful house over Thanksgiving. It definitely lived up to the listing photos and description. The kitchen was very spacious and well stocked. A few notes: take seriously the instructions about bear-proofing. We saw bears nearly every day (some walking right down the driveway in front of the house). They were minding their own business and we ours, so it wasn't scary, but it's important to be careful to remove any trash/food outside and keep vehicles locked. Our neighbor in the next house had their van opened and invaded by a bear during the night because it wasn't locked. Also, be aware that the small road up to the house is very steep. If you plan to walk down into the town, that part may be challenging to some. The parking pad allowed us room to park 5 vehicles (large SUV, mid-SUV, 3 sedans). Overall, we had an incredible time, and we all agreed we would love to return again!

Beautiful cabin with lots of space for a large group! Saw 2 bears the last night. One even got into our car. (Our fault someone left the door unlocked) but is a cool story to tell because we watched him get in!!

The location was perfect for us as we were right near where we needed to be. The traffic on the main stretch is always a challenge so give yourself some extra time. Overall, we had a great stay.

Elk Horn Lodge is a great cabin with amazing views of Gatlinburg. There was plenty of room for our group of 11, ranging in age from 10-85. The area felt very safe. Everything was very clean. The kitchen has plenty of dishes for everyone. The beds are comfortable and there were plenty of linens. The game room and pool table were great for our teenagers. The cabin is very close to a trolley stop and it is walking distance from most Gatlinburg attractions. It is also very close to the entrance to the Roaring Fork Motor Trail and many hiking trailheads in the national park. The driveway is quite steep, not too hard to drive but walking to the town or trolley stop does require being able to walk up a steep incline. There are bears in the area, we did see a couple in the driveway. Keep your car and cabin doors locked and Do not leave food outside. The bears didn’t seem threatening, they ran off when we hollered at them. Elk Horn Lodge is a great cabin for multigenerational families and other large groups, especially families with tweens and teens.
