Stayed Jul 17, 2025Nice property - Well equipped - Beautiful cabin. Very quaint area. Water is a little yellowish due to the high mineral content & showers were slippery due to that. Lighting was a little low in the cabin.

Stayed Dec 19, 2025Beautiful cabin, spacious for family and gorgeous views from the porch. We loved seeing the deer passing through the woods during the day. Only complaint was the heating situation was inconsistent, some parts of the house were significantly colder than the other. Hard to get a consistent temperature. Otherwise we had a great time!

Stayed Nov 26, 2025Overall was a great stay. Outdoor space was great and house interior was good. There are only three actual bedrooms and a loft. It worked for our group but on the site lists 6 bedrooms and that’s inaccurate. But it’s still a great 3 bedroom and loft house. Great kid space in and out.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025We stayed here for a wedding weekend. Liz was super accommodating and the checkin/checkout process was easy. The only glitch for us was the water pressure. We were there for a wedding, so showers were crucial. The Lazy Bear Lodge is on a well system and that system impacted the pressure for showers. At one point it went to a trickle. Liz offered to have their well company come out, but by the time they could get there we would be gone. I wouldn’t let the pressure keep you from staying here, just plan accordingly. It’s a beautiful setting.

Stayed Jul 10, 2025Fantastic property and accommodating, very nice, and flexible hosts. The fire pit and back porch areas were the family favorites. The surrounding trees are beautiful. Only minor notes are that it is really 3 bedrooms, one with an attached sleeping bunk loft. While there are other sleeping areas in the house, they aren’t true bedrooms. The road in was also a bit of a surprise as it is a bumpy gravel road, we were ok with this, but one family member had a nicer sedan that they were nervous about driving on the road with. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

Stayed May 22, 2025We really enjoyed the cabin . It was decorated so cute. I think the description was a little misleading though. It describes it as a 6 bedroom and it’s actually a three bedroom with a loft. The beds worked out well but the last two bedrooms were pull out sofas. We loved the outside fire and our family had a great time.

Stayed Mar 27, 2025This cabin is gorgeous! The details in all the rooms are so fun and interesting. Beds were very comfortable, and it is spotless. The owner landscaped before our visit and the gardens were very pretty. 15 min drive to Asheville. The Ingles grocery store is 5 minutes away is huge and has everything you may need. The owners were prompt with a hot tub issue and came right over to fix it. I can't say enough about this beautiful property. Book it today, Asheville is back!!

Stayed Aug 23, 2024Our group of eight from Alabama, South Dakota, Oregon, North Carolina, and Tennessee spent seven wonderful days at the lazy Bear Lodge. We absolutely loved our time on site and rated our stay five plus. The lazy bear is very comfortable for a group of our size and offered amenities that helped us to reconnect immediately. Most of us had not seen each other for nearly 6 years. There's an outdoor fire pit that is close by yet far enough away to view the evening stars and moonlight a hot tub nearby to close out the evening or to wake up as the sun leans over the mountains. And then there's an open floor plan with a large kitchen on the first floor and plenty of area for a group to prepare a feast and enjoy one another's company. The site is private secluded beautiful inside and outside, providing close access to local stores as well as major outdoor recreational venues in the Appalachian mountain range and in Asheville itself beginning with a Riverwalk art district. Thank you for helping make our time so special !plus.plus

Stayed Jul 22, 2024The location of the cabin is very remote which is great for a peaceful, quiet get away; it is only 20 minute drive to ashville! The kitchen had everything we needed and the hot tub and fire pit was the perfect ending to every evening. Truly is a perfect cabin for a friend get away or family vacation! The host was quick to respond with any questions.

Stayed May 24, 2024Our two families (4 adults, 5 kids ages 6-14) had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend at the cabin. The indoor space was comfortable and cozy. The cabin was well stocked with hand and dish soaps, towels, extra blankets and bedding. The kids liked the various games and books to keep entertained. The outdoor space was especially great. The hot tub is very large with an outdoor table for dining and a fantastic fire pit. We spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoor setup. A grill out there would have been even better. It did storm one late afternoon and the power went out. Huge branches had fallen onto the road, but communication was good and assistance was provided. Be aware the cabin is near the end of a longer one-lane drive that many homes share. We had a few instances of configuring to allow other vehicles getting through. There isn’t much around the Leicester area, but Ingles for groceries was about a 10 minute drive. Going to downtown Asheville took about 25-30 minutes. Trails and breweries were closer to 20 minutes. Overall, we had a fun time and enjoyed the property.
