Soldotna, Alaska
Large cabin. Awesome view of the mountains from upstairs. There's a deck off the kitchen on the main floor. We are walking distance to the wilderness refuge, great trout and salmon fishing 5 miles away! We also have a deep freezer for you to keep your catch in during your stay! House is about 2 miles off of funny river road! Fire ring for use in the winter time!! Excellent area for viewing the northern lights, winter hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snow machining right out the front door!

If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable, off the beaten track cabin nestled in the woods, this could be the place. Quick walk to wildlife, lake fun and miles of wilderness to enjoy. The cabin is up to date, very clean and well supplied.
Quiet, roomy for 2 or 4 guests Direct TV was weak and useless Not much view other than trees surrounding the property, so don’t expect to see mountains or the river from your cabin Internet did not work at all and never reset/rebooted successfully over 5 days by the property manager Clothes Washer had moldy odor so we ran it 3 times with Affresh Washer cleaner and Clorox sprayed the seal to get it clean. It’s a laid back experience so that is good, so get outdoors since that’s why you are there
Beautiful cabin tucked in the woods away from the crowds. Chris was great to rent from. He even brought us a couple of things we forgot.
My Dad brothers and I made our first trip to Alaska to salmon fish. This location was perfect and close to all the hot spots. It had all the amenities one would need. The deep freezer was great along with the nice large kitchen for packaging our fish. Also the availability of laundry was very nice. Chris was very helpful and easy to deal with. I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent stay very remote and quiet. The owner was very helpful even let us borrow a cooler so we could go fish! Highly recommend!
Hubby and I vacationed here to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. A true gem off the beaten path!!! Being in the wilderness (when we were not exploring) was a true tranquil space. The rainy season had already started. It was nice to spend a little bit more time at the cabin on one morning. They had a deep freezer on property to store our fish to return home with. Chris was very knowledgeable! We highly recommend this cabin in the woods.
Chris was a great host. House was very clean. The cabin is nice and secluded. I highly recommend this cabin.
The cottage was very remote and quiet- what we had hoped! Clean and comfortable.
Nice, remote.
Great cabin. We got just what we bargained for, a beautiful cabin in a remote setting.
Terrific place to stay. Chris was very responsive, check-in was a breeze, and the cabin is actually nicer than it appears in the photos. Pros: Quiet, Wireless internet was very fast and capable of supporting browsing/text/VOIP, gas grill on back deck looks brand new and worked flawlessly, upstairs bed was very comfortable (not too soft). Water pressure was amazing and the tankless water heater means unlimited hot water...you aren't working off some tiny tank. The front-loading washer/dryer were awesome to have also as being able to do laundry at home is a huge plus. Conveniently located in the full bathroom downstairs off the kitchen. Cons, as other people might look at them, there was no functional TV service at all. Not a single channel worked. Not a problem for us as we don't watch TV at home and didn't plan to on our trip. The cabin is a few miles from Soldotna but we saw quite a few moose on the neighborhood roads to the cabin every couple days including a cow with her calf. (She was wearing an orange radio collar). The drive also takes you past the waste transfer site where you can drop off your trash/recycling. The kitchen probably isn't what a chef is looking for though there is a drip coffeemaker, Keurig, toaster, microwave, gas range and oven. The basic stuff is there (we left a pizza cutter and a sharp chef's knife) so making meals is easy. The upstairs loft area needs some blackout shades on the end window as it was sometimes difficult to sleep with the endless daylight during our trip. This cabin's location is convenient to everything on the Kenai Peninsula. Took about 3 hours to drive to the cabin from Anchorage but from here it's about 20 minutes to the town of Soldotna (Fred Meyer grocery store, gas stations, Sportsman's Warehouse), and just a little further to the Wal-Mart in Kenai. We made the two hour drive to Seward a few times, drove to Homer (well, Ninilchik Beach), fished the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers as well as a couple local stocked lakes. Check out Johnson Lake for some outstanding rainbow action on a rooster tail. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. My only 'dream' improvements would be a hot tub and a chest freezer/fish cleaning table available for guests.
