Stayed May 24, 20256 guys fishing trip with 2 boats worked out great. We used both lifts at the dock and great view. The cabin was surprisingly big inside with nice kitchen and great views. Didn't like the houses right next door.

Stayed Jun 23, 2024It was ok. Could have been cleaner and some amenities were lacking or in short supply. We ran out of toilet paper, dish soap, no garbage bags. The property could use grab bars in bathrooms for older people and railings for the steps. Other than that it was a nice property on a beautiful lake and very private.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We were 4 guys fishing and used to much more Spartan accommodations. The Looney Bin was almost luxurious to us. Two spacious living areas gave us plenty of room to spread out. In fact one of our guys needed to work so we gave him the room with the bed as an office/bedroom. The kitchen had plenty of counter space and all the utensils you'd ever need. The TV streaming package was extensive and we used it during our down time. The grill and oven worked well. We all slept well on very nice supportive mattresses. Having 2 bathrooms was a welcome change for us. The only challenge for us was we had 2 boats and the pier space was limited.

Stayed Sep 9, 2023Nice place. Great view. Gas grill didn't work. First day, i would light but couldn't control the temperature. Flare ups and a big grease fire in the grease pan. After that it wouldn't light and we were planning on grilling 3 more times. Kind of a bummer id ssy.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We felt like we were taking a little bit of a risk booking The Loony Bin for our summer family getaway because there were no previous reviews and all the photos were from the winter ...but we were not disappointed! The house was cozy with plenty of room for us and our 4 kids. The decor was charmingly 90s with appropriate updates and there wasn't anything we were concerned our rambunctious kids would mess up. We used the fire pit several times to roast hot dogs and marshmallows, cooked on the grill, ate on the deck table once. The kids wanted to live on the dock; the blue gill were so plentiful they could catch them with a net and fishing line tied to sticks. We explored Clear Lake with the canoe and spent lots of time reading and playing card games in the three seasons room looking out on the lake and hearing the loons. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing and serving meals and then some. The beds were comfortable, mattresses felt pretty new, and the sheets and towels felt like nice hotel quality. It was great to have a tub to bathe the kids and a shower in the other bathroom for us parents. We made use of the washer and dryer and dishwasher every day. We spent a week and while we made a few day trips, we all enjoyed a few whole days spent relaxing here. There were cupboards of books and games to play and while we did watch a little Netflix, our trip was mostly unplugged and we loved it. The area is very peaceful. Be advised, you'll need insect repellent!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family stayed at the Looney Bin for a week and loved that it was on quiet clear lake, with access to the Manitowish Chain of Lakes. The home was spacious and well equipped with any type of cookware you could imagine. My family spent a lot of time in the screened in porch watching the lake. The two living rooms were large and easily accommodated our group. We loved that the cabin had so many games to play on late nights or rainy days. The cabin is the only one on the road, which made it feel very private.
