Beautiful place and a beautiful location! Ryan was super helpful and responded quickly to our questions. He also proactively reached out to us when he learned a neighbor would be doing some excavation during our stay and provided an early check-in/late checkout to make amends (even though neighbors are very much not under his control!). The work crew was also very nice and not too noisy. The only downside, but not quite worth docking a star, is that the house doesn't actually have internet. You can use your phone's cell connection doesn't really count as internet, so that amenity should probably be removed from the listing ? It wasn't a big deal for us since we wanted to disconnect, but might be a surprise for someone who wants to work from the cabin. Thank you for sharing your home, Ryan!!
Once again, our week at Priest Lake was spectacular! The cabin was spotless, very well stocked, and was perfect for our extended family of 6 + dog. We spent the majority of our waking hours outside kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, skiing, fishing, and just hanging out and catching up. The location cannot be beat, and Ryan is the perfect host. Looking forward to returning next year.
This is a perfect cabin for a week on Priest. It's really close to Coolin, Cavanaugh Bay Resort, camping, hiking, boating, waterfalls, etc. The house was old but very clean and well appointed. It's definitely a summer cabin with some age to it. It's right at the head of some great hiking trails and the dock is easily accessible from the property. There isn't a huge slope down to the water like with some properties. Suggestions: The cabin needs a coffee grinder. An upgrade to a Blu-Ray player would help. The Internet at this location is terrible. Suggest upgrading the Verizon hotspot to AT&T 5G. You'll pay the same/similar and the service will be much faster and more reliable. Very important for those of us with work that we can't get away from!
Easy to rent; easy to find thanks to instructions. Cabin was clean and owner , Ryan, made it very easy to communicate; answered questions I had quickly. He let me know cabin was not winterized and may have to use wood stove which we did. He was so thoughtful, had fire going in wood stove when we arrived therefore cabin was warm and welcoming. He also had plenty of firewood available on deck which was necessary as it was cold. Thank you Ryan! The beds were comfortable; even the adults who normally wake early slept in. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed; only item I could not find was a spatula, but not a big deal. The view of lake was nice; the lapping water sound was wonderful. Overall, nice place to get away to. Thank you Ryan!
We had a wonderful week at Ryan's cabin on Cavanaugh Bay. The location can't be beat and the cabin was absolutely charming and perfect for our needs. Everything was very clean, well stocked, and super well organized. We were there in September and had a mix of weather, but plenty of room to spread out both inside and outside. Nice big deck, lots of storage, wonderful picnic table and fire pit areas, large, sturdy dock, and nice small beach area that made getting into and out of kayaks a breeze. The cabin is fairly private, but the few neighbors we encountered when out and about were quite friendly. And it's just a short walk, paddle, or boat ride down to Cavanaugh's restaurant - a great spot for food and drinks. Also, Ryan was very easy to communicate with when we had a couple of questions. We are looking forward to staying there again!
It is the quintessential Priest Lake cabin. For the most part, we really enjoyed our time, liked the deck and the places to hang out and also liked having the dock and the swimming area which we made good use of. Since I am very familiar with the lake (having vacationed here as a child) it did make me feel like I was revisiting old times and that, in the face of the 4 million dollar Microsoft funded mansions on the lake, it was far preferable to the exclusion of the folks who just like the lake and its beauty, as opposed to building a showpiece house for folks to either ogle at or stare at in dismay. Not fancy but generally ok. I think that the pricing relative to the amenities of the cabin was a bit opportunistic but if it was my property, I would probably do a similar rate structure, with a few enhancements to ensure that my guests were comfortable. I didn't really have too many issues with the property but found that the number one item that the cabin lacked was airflow. It's billed as a place that has an AC but when we arrived we found that the AC circuit had been turned off and when we turned it on to test it, it really didn't work that well. So, since the breaker was off, I returned it to the off position and made do with attempts to have airflow. As I mentioned earlier, the airflow (or lack thereof) was really my only issue and it is something that could easily have been rectified by ensuring that a number of the windows that didn't open were operable. The simplest solution would be to have a screen fashioned for the small door that opens onto the deck on the far side of the cabin. When we opened up that door, the air went rushing through and cooled the cabin off pretty nicely. The only issue about doing that in the absence of a screen is that insects get in so that was only a short term solution, absent a screen. Other simple solutions would be a couple of ceiling fans in over the main room to move the air around. I don't want this to seem all negative but the stagnant air and lack of airflow left a strong impression in my mind as well as the mind of my family/kids each evening as we drifted off to sleep. I thought I would point that out as for about 5K for a week, it's not really much to expect, especially since the AC unit didn't work too well. I think for sure we would consider this place again as we do understand that it was unseasonably warm (unless of course I am banned for being too unfiltered).
We had a great time. The location is excellent. The owner was very responsive, fair and accurate. The cabin albeit a bit old and rough, was clean and everything worked as advertised. Caught fish off the dock throwing spinners. Would definitely stay there again.
The house is cozy and comfy! The kitchen was well equipped for our Canada Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed the house and our surroundings immensely. Lightning storms, power outages and all! Hosts were so helpful on all fronts. Highly recommend!
Beautiful setting, right on the crystal clear water. Home nicely furnished. Very clean. Ryan is an excellent host. Very helpful. The only drawback - no internet service ( you can piggyback off WiFi at nearby restaurant, which has excellent food and beautiful views) and poor cellphone service unless you have Verizon.
Awesome location! We loved our stay in this wonderful home. The dock and ease of access were perfect, the accommodations were great and we had a fantastic stay at priest lake. The cabin was super clean and communication could not have been better thank you so much!
