History of Our Cabin
This is our home away from home and we hope you will feel the same way after staying with us.
Small, rustic-style cabin, nothing fancy, but just what we wanted. Great screened-in patio and a quick walk to a small dock. The lake was quiet and clean. Great place for a quiet weekend in the woods, near water, and cabin-style living.
We understood it to be a rustic cabin with amenities we looked forward to on the lake. The lighting was electrically crude and inadequate. To read we had to use the daylight on the screened porch, which sadly had very uncomfortable seating. Thirdly, the short dead end road offer no walking paths access to the lake. And finally the dock was crude and any older person trying to manage getting into a kayak was impossible. We did not use. Very disappointing and we are very used to camping and outdoor activities and this did not suffice, sorry to report.
Our check in was good and the cabin was clean and cute. We did notice that the cabin is not on the water what is on the water is a lot across the street that is lake access but it isn’t very far. The WiFi is excellent had no problems connecting. We were disappointed with the screened in porch furniture it was very uncomfortable and the cushions were flattened and gross. If you sat on the couch you could barely see out to the water. The canoe has a bad leak started filling with water so that wasn’t usable. Access into the water from the land could be better hard to get into a kayak or canoe from that tall dock. I think if the owners put a little money into some things to improve the property would be excellent. We made the best of it.
The Good: Nice quiet and comfy log cabin. Great location for a getaway. Easy check-in, nice bonfire pit, wifi, and quiet neighbors. Portage Lake is big and great for kayaking. (Wish I had a pontoon). The Bad: Access to the dock/water across the street was troublesome with no steps. The water pressure was low at times. Would still recommend this property.
Nice cozy cabin. We really enjoyed a relaxing week. Thank you!
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cabin! Everything was extremely clean, the owners are very helpful and responsive. We felt very at home and enjoyed everything this home has to offer!
We enjoyed everything about this cabin by the lake. Perfect place to decompress and get away. Clean and well-maintained.
Need to make sure the code for the door is correct, update your info for your wifi and where to find light switch also a curtain in the living room would be helpful if you like to sleep past 7:00. It was a nice stay, but feel it was over priced for a very basic cabin.
We're always looking for a place to go for the 4th. It's hard to completely escape fireworks and noise, but Chicago is over the top and our dogs can't handle it. This was our first time at the Three Rivers cabin home and it was a very nice stay. Clean, well stocked and nice location. The shower rocked and that was enough for me! It wasn't silent, but it was pretty calm compared to the city. Thanks!
After having issues with other properties this one was amazing. Easy, quick, hassle free. It was clean and organized. Everything made sense as to where it was. Very rustic feel but, with all the modern conveniences you could want. A great place to relax or have fun.
