Kickback Kabin is a beautiful destination year-round, but if you come in winter, we advise arriving in a four-wheel-drive vehicle as roads can be icy and snow-packed in the mountains.
Make today the day you book your stay at Kickback Kabin and start planning all the fun you’ll have in the Great Smoky Mountains.
The cabin was nasty, could not get access when first arrived call and texted manager no response for over an hour. I would not recommend this cabin.
The cabin itself was very beautiful and clean. Pros: the view, clean, hot tub, enough room for six of us, close to the parkway. Cons: no internet service and no response from property manager on how to fix, uncomfortable bed upstairs, upstairs shower was SO tiny (I’m 5’3 140 pounds), the driveway was very hard to navigate…we eventually found what worked for us and it ended up being fine. A big SUV would definitely not make it up. All in all we enjoyed our stay and had a great time!!
Should give more information about drive way that’s essentially on the side of a cliff and there’s no turn around
Pay attention to the previous reviews about the driveway and make sure to be there before dark. The driveway has a drop off on one side and the mountain on the other. Due to the angle that it hits the road, we had to drive up it backwards. Also, the beds upstairs are very old and hard. They are not pillow tops or foam. Place was clean, spacious and had everything you need.
Beautiful location. Needs a deep clean, bathroom needs repainted, hot tub should be elevated to allow better views from the deck. Better and more towels should be provided. Cooking was a nightmare due to lack of sufficient pots and pans. Driveway is also a pain. For the price, we expected a better amenities. Booked this house for our stay last minute, but there are definitely better suited cabins that give you more bang for your buck if you book ahead of time.
The property was just beautiful. The house was very clean and has everything we needed. The road going up to the cabin was a little hairy to navigate, but we got used to it!
We had a very nice week at the Kickback Kabin. Overall, I would recommend this as a nice place to stay with wonderful views. It is a simple place without a lot of frills but, it was just right for a mountain retreat while we explored Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The home has all of the essentials and everything was in good working order. While we were there the coffee maker stopped working and they were quick to replace it with a new one. Our only criticism is the upstairs bedrooms. We didn’t mind the size, despite them being pretty small. The mattress were not good. Our kids didn’t mind the twins beds but my wife and I woke up several days sore and I the mattress sit just an inch or two from the floor due to low ceilings. The other thing I want to highlight is the driveway. It’s been mentioned in other reviews and I need to stress it. It is steep and there’s a tight turn. I had to back my minivan up every time and if it had rained or been anything but dry pavement/gravel, I wouldn’t have made it. I can’t imagine what it would be like in the winter. I didn’t ask but, I wonder if they will work with you if you get there and can’t get up the driveway? Overall, it’s a nice place and I would recommend it. ??
Lovely cabin! Driveway was a little difficult.
The cabin is very nice and clean with nice mountain views. The driveway is treacherous and very hard to maneuver not to mention steep, this needs to be indicated in the description. The driveway will be the reason i will not consider renting this cabin again. Please be careful on the driveway especially in a large vehicle because there is no room to turn into the road so coming down will send you sliding into a drop off. I would suggest using google earth to view the driveway .
We loved our stay at the kickback cabin. The house had all we needed for the stay. The views are amazing - sunset or sunrise! We'd sit in the morning with our coffee/tea/breakfast, relax and enjoy the view before a busy. Everything is super close by - Gatlinburg with shops and food (Crockett's Breakfast Camp hands down favorite!), the best spots for the Smoky Mountains and Dollywood. Coming home at night and enjoying a dip in the hottub under the stars was a bonus for my kids. I do also want to say the owners were flexible with us. We were originally booked last April but due to COVID and working hospitals couldn't take the family trip. Right before the trip was scheduled last year, they allowed us to rebook to this April even though we didn't have trip insurance purchased. After the last year the 5 of us needed the break and enjoyed every minute. Appreciate that flexibility. So yes the drive up isn't the easiest but after doing it once it wasn't horrible and if all the construction vehicles building all the houses up on the mountain can make it through the twists and turns, I think my minivan (with no 4 wheel drive) can too. It all added to the adventure after we got used to it! Just back up the driveway, remember it's an adventure and enjoy the view once you are parked.
