Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay at Ketchum's Corner. Clean and cozy with a great location.
Everything was clean! Sheila was very responsive from the beginning. We had a few nice days of getaway and this cabin is in the perfect location. We had sun, we had snow and lots of laughs. This cabin is the perfect size for 7-8 people.
Overall a great place to stay in terms of location: there is even a restaurant 4 min on foot away, which is only open in certain hours but still. The house has everything we needed, the hosts were amazing and super understanding, so this is a huge plus. Note: I would not recommend sleeping upstairs in winter and this is a loft and always colder than downstairs. The heat takes a long time to travel up, so it was very hot in downstairs bedrooms and still cold upstairs. One of the twin beds was crooked and you’d sleep head or feet down, not parallel to the floor. Otherwise they even provide small headlights for tye guests (to borrow), and all linens and everything you need. Alexa and soft music playing when we came in was a nice touch! I’d stay again but probably in summer when it is warmer or just plan to sleep in the bedrooms. Thanks again to the hosts!
It was great. Everything was as promised.
Firstly, I almost never give out 5 stars so don't take my final rating as not good. Yes there were things that were not perfect but to be honest, very very few things are. We loved the cosiness, the modern appliances (shocked) and the location. We were traveling to Bear Valley each day for skiing but while it was a a fair drive of about 30 mins it was worth it as this cabin was very cost effective. The cabin was warm, had a nice fire stove that we used and all around was a great stay. We talked about booking the same cabin next year.
We loved this rental and plan to return. One thing to note, there is no cell service (in the town or at the cabin)for AT&T customers but we didn’t mind at all.
Check in process and communication was stellar! Very equipped kitchen although we did not cook much since we were at our friends cabin. Quiet neighborhood and all you could need was there. Seems like more of a cabin for fall/winter than summer although deck was nice and big. Our timing was poor for the extreme heat in Arnold and while we did not sleep up in loft if others were with us it would have been an oven! All in all a pleasant experience.
We enjoyed are stay and the house had everything we needed. It’s a cute little A frame in a nice neighborhood. Bedrooms were comfortable with nice sheets. Our kids really enjoyed the loft and especially the foosball table. It’s very close to the lake, although we didn’t use it. We really enjoyed White Pines lake which is public and a short 5 min drive down the highway.
This cabin was a perfect jumping off point to all the cool things there are to do in the area including Big Trees State Park, White Pines Lake, Lake Alpine, Stanislaus River, etc. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. Access to the community lake was right across the street. Everyone in the family (ages 3-70) enjoyed our stay!
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was nice. Great beds and nice sofa to watch movies. I didn't love the hallway kitchen layout given the snow and mud. The coffee maker was great. The kitchen was well equipted. The house is a bit dated and fireplace could use some help but overall a fine holiday rental.
I gave this rental a three-star rating but it could easily be listed as a four and a half star stay with a few adjustments. Check-in, check-out, appliance, and TV printed instructions were lacking or confusing but management was prompt to respond to text questions about any problems which was a real plus. Appliances and WIFI were all top of the line, Alexa and Keurig coffee maker were very nice touches, dishes and flatware were almost brand new but the large array of banged up, discolored pots and pans felt sanitary. These could be easily be replaced by a small set of pans. Furniture and decorations were quite nice but the missing screens in upstairs loft and one bedroom made getting cool air inside the house difficult. The large AC unit in the living room worked hard to cool the house in the heat of the day. The management is aware of this problem as evidenced by the number of fans in the house but many of these fans were unusable because of the lack of wall plugs. This could be remedied easily by having power strips in each room with a few extension cords especially in the upstairs loft where the power strip wasn’t long enough to place a fan in a usable place. The location, layout and outside deck areas were excellent. In all a few changes could have made this pleasant stay into an very comfortable stay. I give five stars to management for excellent service.
