Always wanted to stay on an Island, Cabin Beaver is for you. Sunrises are amazing, peaceful except for the loons, geese, frogs, ducks, soft lapping of the water and sounds of breeze and occasional boats. Kayak and Canoe while exploring Green lake in Front and Boggy Brooke in back. A step up from camping. Hot water outdoor shower, lake water for dishes, Bottled water for drinking, Firepit, Small beach, Comfortable and Serene. Acadia for day trips is 20 miles, grocery and seafood stores 10-15 minutes. Special place for the right people.
very beautiful but basically very little water at sink and no hot water at kitchen sink so had to bail water out of lake to wash dishes. cramped with other stuff and unorganized, so we had no place to put our luggage. shower outside the hot water rarely worked for both of us. bed upstairs is to cramp and unusable. host was told repeatedly and it was never fixed and we stayed 2 weeks. we had to wash our clothes and the sheets and their towels at local laundry mat. the outhouse that was not composing toilet was more of a potta potty which stunk and was quite a distance from cabin. bed in loft was horrible again was address with owner who are very nice but probably never run a VRBO before. we might stay there again but these problems cause me to get very little sleep. i did get to see the bald eagle and kayak to lake and lagoon but more like camping not glamping.
My husband, miniature schnauzer and I had the best time at Cabin Beaver!!! Location - remote, secluded, peaceful, private, safe, easy to get to. Cabin - meticulous, well equipped, comfortable. The stairs to the loft are steep, but doable. Outhouse - spotless, odorless Outdoor shower - hot, great pressure, reliable, fun to shower outside Many activities to be had on the island and many spots to chill as well!! Coffee on the east side with the rising sun, early swims in the fog rolling off the water surface, kayaking the back marsh and exploring, bird watching, reading in peace on west facing deck, sunsets, firepit, grilling and cooking with ease. The owners, Jennifer and Jack, stay on the island, and are the best hosts. Friendly, but you never see them if you choose not to. Their dog River is an amazing dog and a good girl! She let our 20 pound schnauzer boss her around, and they both loved running around the island unrestricted chasing each other and exploring. Our dog had the time off his life being off leash the whole long weekend and we are so grateful for that! We will definitely be back, what a special place!
Everything was wonderful. It's great to be on both Green Lake and Boggy Brook. The camp had everything we needed and we enjoyed kayaking most days.
Cabin Beaver is a true respite. Quiet, clean, relaxing. This place has everything you need and nothing you don't. Thanks, Jack and Jennifer, for having us.
This little cabin and its gorgeous surroundings was exactly what we needed. It was spectacularly clean and tidy when we arrived. The hosts were out of sight unless we needed them, and then they were there to help. The wail of the loons at dusk and the reflection of the moon off the lake at night were icing on the cake.
Everything was perfect. The hosts are great, very easy to communicate with and have thought of everything to make the stay feel comfortable. The cabin is clean, and has everything you need. The lake was also clean and the water was very warm to swim in. The canoe was a lot of fun. Will be back again!
The camp is very comfortable, neat, tidy and well equipped with everything I needed. It has great cross ventilation so the night air wafts through. I love an outdoor shower and the propane fired, on demand hot water worked flawlessly. The outhouse is well managed, with great air circulation. My cell service provided internet, but I spent a lot of time daydreaming and catching up on my reading. The canoe trip onto the island was a fun little adventure, without any problem and I also enjoyed kayaking and yoga in the early morning. I came to think of it as very deluxe camping with indoor sleeping and outdoor activities. It was a great little break to rest and recoup.
We had such an amazing time at Cabin Beaver! Fishing, canoeing and kayaking, seeing and experiencing all the wildlife, relaxing and playing together… the cabin had it all. Beautiful location in DownEast and close to everything Acadia has to offer, but returning to the cabin each day was a highlight for our young kiddos. Thank you so much Jennifer & Jack for this special getaway.
We had such a lovely stay at cabin beaver! It was exactly as listed, and had so many cute spots with comfy chairs to gaze out at the lake. Highly recommend!
A great place to stay if you want to experience camping & lake life with some luxuries like a shower & fully stocked kitchen. The cabin was very comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything to make it very welcoming. Acadia is not too far away but you will probably want to stay on the island to canoe & kayak.
The hosts were above and beyond kind. The cabin was immaculate and private. My husband and I (and our two Yorkies) enjoyed every second of our stay. Everything that we could need was already in the cabin. We loved the wildlife outside and our opportunity to deepen our connection with God. We would love to return in the future.
As others have said, pictures do not do justice to the serenity and beauty this island affords. My wife and I absolutely loved walking around the island, canoeing in the lake, and spending the evening around the campfire. Sure, the bed upstairs is kinda small and the outside shower isn't great, but those minor inconveniences is more than made up for by everything else. Unless those creature comforts are the chief pleasures of a getaway, you will love this place. And Acadia Ntl Park is a really easy drive of about 30 minutes.
My fiancé and I recently visited cabin beaver mid September, amazing experience and can’t wait to go back. Very clean, cozy, and comfortable. The island is beautiful, lake side for the stunning sunrise and the brook side for some fantastic kayaking. Don’t let the canoe ride across the beautiful green lake sway you because it’s simple and very quick. We even accomplished it in the dark after we went to dinner! We can’t wait to return, we absolutely adore our memories from our experience.
We had a wonderful time at Cabin Beaver. Instructions on where to park & how to get to the island were easy to understand. Taking a canoe to your camp is so much fun! The cabin had everything we needed and more. Bed was comfy, kitchen was well stocked with pots & utensils, & everything was tidy. We enjoyed taking the canoe out, birdwatching, swimming, and making a campfire. Our dogs were in heaven and it put us at ease that our curious puppy couldn’t run off - there’s nowhere to go when you’re on an island! We had a perfect long weekend and can’t wait to visit again!
This is such a special place. Regans, thank you for sharing it with us. It's a luxurious little cabin on a magical island. So many loons. Sunrises and sunsets. A beautifully clear lake. My dog, Homer, has never had a better vacation! We are already ready to go back.
This island is amazing, so relaxing and beautiful.! My family really enjoyed ourselves and was able to spend quality time together!
