Foresta is located within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. Now known as an “inholding”, Foresta (Big Meadow) started as a pioneering area. Two ranches (McCauley and Meyers) provided beef, pork, dairy and vegetables to the Yosemite Valley hotels. In the twenties, it was sub-divided and given the name of Foresta. Created as an “artistic” community, musical gatherings were held by the creek. After the Great Depression, many lots were sold for back taxes. Approximately 75 homes were in use, either full time or seasonally, before the 1993 A-Rock fire destroyed most of them. More than half of the homes have now been rebuilt. Fire has been a defining force in this area, showcasing Mother Nature's endless cycles.

The cabin was great. Needs some work to improve the shower door and overcome some wear and tear. The frig died just before arrival, but the owner brought in a mini-frig to cover. It was a big plus that it is inside the park. Thanks for letting us use it.

This was a simple cabin in the woods. Warning: a lot of information in the ad is incorrect. The property is 25 minutes from Yosemite Valley. Many of the amenities listed were NOT provided (no Mountain View, shampoo, coffee grinder, electric kettle, bowls). The wi-fi did not always work and is very slow when it does. The electricity was out for 12 hours which meant additionally no water or gas. Communication with the owner during this time was minimal and there was no offer of compensation or assistance provided. A more accurate description would have gone a long way to manage expectations.

Perfect place to stay in Yosemite! Stayed in the larger unit last year, which is roomier with a large kitchen. Since it was already booked 8 months in advance, we rented the smaller place which is a decent sized studio. Feels like a large hotel room, but is very comfortable and convenient, especially if you don’t plan on cooking much. We used the outdoor grill and it was great. Good ac, quiet.

Very nice and basic cabin. Very quiet and peaceful, at the very end of the road. A good location inside the park. The outside deck is small and open so if when it rained we couldn't use the outside seating.Only issue is the water. Water pressure is poor, for a long haired woman it is very hard to rinse shampoo. Since the cabin uses well water, guests are asked to use water very sparingly. It made me feel a bit guilty when taking a shower, not to mention we are asked to keep toilet flushing to a minimum.

Great place to stay in the park! Has everything you need in one place. Be sure to read the directions closely and I would recommend arriving in the daylight. It’s about 25-30 minutes to get to the valley so take that into account.

House was all you needed. The little dirt road lead down to an awesome mountain river with tons of birds. Further down the road it opened up into a beautiful valley and mountains. So peaceful it was hard to leave.

location was nice--10 minutes to tunnel view, another 10 to valley village, perfect for most of the things we wanted to see. Kitchen was very adequate for our needs--no oven but nice grill outside and a Jenn Aire type cooktop inside, full size fridge. Dish TV. Room set up like a large hotel with kitchenette. Good sized bathroom area, outstanding water pressure and temp. Small porch on back of house with tree canopy. Very good property for 2 people spending most of our days hiking. Owners communication was very good. Enjoyed our stay.

Location was 100% perfect. The house was as expected as far as 1 room/ w/bath. Linens clean and ease of check in. However, it was stated there was a deadbolt-there is not. Owner made it a point to ask us to leave as clean as we found it-which we did...HOWEVER, it needs a deep cleaning badly! The floor is filthy, after i showered/dried i literally walked from bathroom to chair and my feet were filthy! Baseboards were thick with dirt, around fridge was filthy as well. We washed the few dishes we used before we used them, they were greasy feeling. While the bed clothes were clean, they were stained. We are not snobs at all, we expect some use. We do not however expect to feel we were told untruths about the home. It is not clean to Vrbo standards. Again, Location was perfect. We left this home as we found it and gollowed check out instructions. We would not stay here again.

This is an awesome place to stay for location to everything great about Yosemite! There is a fun hike to Foresta Falls right outside your door. The cabin was very well equiped for those that wish to eat in and cook. The only reason Icannot give the location a 5 star rating is the queen bed being very very saggy. For some this may not be a big deal but for this price range the bed should be better.

This cabin felt about as close as you could stay in Yosemite Valley (unless you’re paying to stay in the lodges or camping). The proximity made it simpler to get to all of the nearby hikes and eateries in the valley. The cabin itself was perfect for our needs and we didn’t have any issues. It’s great for 1-2 adults! The manager, Annie, was amazing! She communicated with us every step of the way. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was secluded yet close to Yosemite. The cabin had everything we needed to cook our meals during our stay. We heard an owl one evening. We loved staying in nature. We recommend the cabin.

We wanted to be close to all the great sights in Yosemite but didn’t want to stay in the park Hotels. This cabin worked great for two of us. We were able to make our own meals and not have to rely on the restaurants that really don’t have great reviews. Cabin was clean and had a nice small kitchen. Bed was comfortable. Perfect for what we wanted.

The cabin is truly in the perfect location to access all that Yosemite National Park has to offer. The hosts offered clear directions and good communication. The amenities are OK - no shampoo etc. Would recommend for a weekend or a few nights if your plan is to be out and about in the park! 8/10

Highly recommend this cabin if wanting to stay in the park, but also enjoy some peace from the crowds. It is close to the valley but has the feeling of peace of privacy in the mountains (with A/C!). There are a few close neighbors, but we never heard them. We brought in groceries and enjoyed breakfast/dinner out on the porch each day. Only recommendation is to print off the directions the host provides or your own because it’s a bit hard to find the first time, especially with no service.

The place was perfect for what we needed. We did a lot hiking and exploring so this gave us a great place to come back and relax to. It was quiet and away from the crowds. The shower has amazing pressure but make sure you close the bottom all the way to keep water from leaking out. Highly recommend.
