HoKiTa is a family-owned cabin located on the East Fork Road Just as you are entering the village of Greer, Arizona. It was thoughtfully planned and rebuilt after being lost in the Wallow Fire in 2011. The mountains are recovering and forest life surrounds us again. Greer is a tiny `hamlet` surrounded by the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest. Hiking, biking, OHV, horse and ski trails and geocaches are in every direction. Greer Lakes are 2 1/2 miles back to the North and Big Lake and other great fishing lakes are within 40 minutes or less. We supply a local publication, `Hit The Trails` magazine, to help get you familiar with 38 local Greer trailheads and accompanying maps. Our `Welcome Book` has local information, menus and business flyers for your convenience.

Getting to Greer is about a 4 1/2 hour trip from most parts of Phoenix and Tucson which are where most of our guests travel from. Winter travel may be difficult without 4WD/chains or AWD and good tires. The roads are maintained but Mother Nature makes the rules around here so always be prepared. Our driveway is snowplowed in the winter but may still be difficult with insufficient tread or ability. The cabin itself is 1 mile South on East Fork Road which runs along the East side of the river at the base of Butler Butte and some other named areas. We are happy to answer any questions about terrain and up to date weather conditions but we strongly advise you to check az511 on the internet using zip code 85927 before ANY travel to or from Greer during seasonal/ weather events. Bring your own SXS, bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and fishing gear. Horse boarding in the area may be available but not at our cabin.

We ask that your respect the neighbors` privacy and observe Quiet Time Rules to keep Greer...well...Greer! SLOW DOWN on all roads. If we get noise or speed violation complaints from neighbors, you will be asked to leave without refund or return. This is our STRICT policy. We DO NOT allow pets in our cabin. There are no exceptions and we thank you in advance for adhering to this rule. OFF Road vehicles with proper plates and registration are permitted on county roads. If it`s marked `No Trespassing`, don`t go there. No hunting or fireworks are permitted in the Greer Recreation Area. Always use common sense and feel free to ask us if you are unsure. We do not allow outdoor wood fires on the property. You are welcome to bring your own (propane only) fire pit and tank if you want outdoor fun. Seasonal fire restrictions may apply.

What an incredible place for our girls trip. The wrap around porch was amazing to wake up and have a cup of coffee on. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The bedrooms were perfect for each of us to relax and have a cozy sleep. And the recliners and huge dining table fit us all perfectly. We can’t speak more highly of this property.

The cabin was amazing, accommodated our group of 12 for our parents 50th wedding anniversary. Cabin had everything we needed. We saw wild life daily and cooked some wonderful food. Weather could not have been better!

The house was awsome. We had 14 people staying in the house and it seated everyone without feeling cramped. The area was great for short hikes and the kids loved it. The only complaint is that for 14 people, there weren't enough trash cans for the week.

One of our favorite rentals we've ever stayed in. Awesome location, right next to the mountain/forest, full of wildlife (we saw lots of elk and deer just outside our back patio). Tons of room, great for families, lots of separated bedrooms downstairs and upstairs. Kitchen was well-stocked with all the supplies you need.

Beautiful cabin with everything you need inside of it. This cabin was perfect for my large family. The pool table kept us busy during the rain. Almost every time we were outside we saw deer or elk. So thankful we found such a wonderful cabin to make memories in.

My family enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. Everything was clean and well kept! We did make a trip to Walmart for fans, got pretty warm the week we visited. We loved the wildlife we saw on the hill behind the home, the little deer were having fun chasing each other up and down the hill one evening!! So cute!! I think trash pickup would be a real asset to your home. Fun and games were always a night time event around your large table in the cabin!! My adult boys spent much time at the different lakes fishing and enjoying the great area!!Thanks for a good time!! The Woods Family
