Cody, Wyoming
Welcome to Highland Homestead! This original homestead cabin, built in 1910, has been renovated from top to bottom, with specific attention placed on detail and decor to preserve its period quaintness.
You step back in time as you enter the vaulted great room with all the character, western artwork and Native Americans collectibles of a mountain log cabin. This room also provides a queen size sleeper sofa, love seat, TV, period antiques, desk and WiFi for those who need to work remotely. A/C keeps this cabin cool and comfortable. A fully equipped kitchen, with vintage refrigerator and Hoosier cabinet, makes meal prep simple and convenient. The bedroom offers a queen bed with a serene, quaking aspen view. A clawfoot tub (with shower) is another nod to the early 1900's history of this special log cabin. An expansive front porch reveals spectacular mountain views in every direction. Add the aspen and pine trees, birds and wildlife with the sound of the river and you have pure heaven! A picnic area includes a fire pit, seating, picnic table and gas grill with the same stunning views. Our guests can enjoy another fire pit area and park bench seating along the quarter mile of Shoshone River, a beautiful blue-ribbon fishery with magnificent scenery. While laundry facilities are unavailable at this site, nearby Cody has two public laundromats
Situated approximately halfway between Yellowstone National Park and Cody, Wyoming, this cabin sits in the heart of the breathtaking Wapiti Valley. It provides access to 42 private acres with Shoshone River frontage, 360-degree Absaroka Mountain views and wildlife in abundance. Step out the front door and go hiking, fishing, read on the porch, drink in the beauty of the mountains, play games on over 2 acres of lawn or just roast marshmallows by the fire. Go horseback riding, rock climbing, rafting, zip lining or boating on the lake nearby. It is a 20-minute drive to the world class Buffalo Bill Center of the West and the historic Cody Nite Rodeo and numerous other attractions. Use the homestead as your home base while you enjoy Yellowstone, a mere 30-minute drive away. Dining, shopping, and entertainment are also in close proximity. Open your windows at night, feel the cool mountain breeze, gaze at the stars, and fall asleep to the sound of the river. Escape to the peace and tranquility of Highland Homestead.

Beautiful property!! Wonderful owners. It was everything we were told it was and then some. We will definitely go back!
This was a wonderful property with beautiful sights. This location is great for visiting Cody and the east entrance of Yellowstone national park. We had some minor issues that came up during our stay but we contacted the owners and they took care of it right away for us.The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay there.
Highly recommend this place! Great location, clean and spacious! All details clearly communicated.
The owners were very friendly and available if needed. My son and I enjoyed the campfire one night. Had a really good vibe and was neatly decorated. Would definitely stay there again
The hide a bed was terrible and impossible to sleep on. The manager was responsive to our complaints and got us a second mattress to use. Also a very soft spot in kitchen floor felt like it was going to give way.
Loved the coziness of the cabin and view was beautiful! I can't wait to come back.
Very cool looking cabin and we’ll decorated, however you will find it is basically in the front yard of the owner’s main house. Highly manicured property including reflective posts along driveway and fencing around the Aspens. As an example of functionality, we took pictures of the nic-naks in the kitchen then removed them to make room for our food and such. Good luck getting comfortable on the pull out bed. Bedroom is very cool along with the bathroom.
the cabin is a great combination of old fashioned atmosphere and up to date conveniences
Loved the cabin!! Was very cozy and welcoming. The owners were great!! We do wish the cabin was more secluded and by itself we was not aware of that before coming. Great views but website shows some views from the main house. And the main house is right out the front door. But overall it is a wonderful stay!! Would stay again!!
Great spot for our day trips to Yellowstone and Cody. Will return next year!
The cabin was very nice but the listing by VRBO was extremely misleading. VRBO portrayed it as 40 acres of private secluded property, but it was actually sandwiched in between another rental property and the owners house. Even though the cabin was very nice it was extremely small with ceilings below 6 foot in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen which made it very cramped for myself and my son which are both over 6 ft tall. The small single AC unit didn't sufficiently cool the full cabin during the day. The Wi-Fi only worked on the porch and we had issues with a mouse in the cabin. Outside of the small yard the rest of the 40 acres not including the other houses was completely covered in cactus and were unusable for anything. I would like to say the owner was very nice and helpful but I feel that we were misled by the listing. The price we paid matched the listing not the actual property.
we really enjoyed the cabin and it’s rustic feel and will definitely be staying there again when we’re back up in the Cody area. Met the owners who were both nice and lived in a house nearby. I woke up super early one morning and walked outside to see a cloudless sky and a very bright Milky Way galaxy overhead. You’ll never see something like that staying in a hotel. Thanks for the great advice on horseback riding with the Real McCoy outfit near Yellowstone it was a blast and our guide was excellent.
