Located between the historic town of Cody and Yellowstone's East Entrance, this panoramic retreat offers sweeping views and a cozy cabin basecamp. Set high above the valley floor, you will enjoy unmatched mountain scenery, frequent wildlife sightings, and easy access to the North Fork Highway along the Shoshone River for fishing, hiking, and exploring. Please note that Yellowstone's East Entrance is closed to regular vehicle traffic from November 1 through May 1, with winter access available by guided snowcoach or snowmobile tours.

Inside, this unique western cabin has rustic charm and a distinctive layout perfect for families or small groups. The fully equipped kitchen features a vintage stove, and the cozy living area invites you to gather and unwind after a day of adventure. With its elevated setting, western character, and unforgettable views, High Point Hideout offers a peaceful and adventurous home base between Cody and Yellowstone.

*This property does not have AC. At night temperatures drop to the 55 or 60 degrees and low to no humidity, opening windows at night cools the property down and lets in the fresh mountain air!

In periods of wet or inclement weather, the roadway may become hazardous. Under such conditions, access should be attempted only with properly equipped all- wheel or four-wheel drive vehicles.

We stayed in the cabin for our Yellowstone vacation. While it was only 45 minutes from the East entrance, we didn't take into account all of the driving around Yellowstone (not to mention the 24 hour drive from Michigan). The cabin itself was nice and it was quite nice to be away from technology (no cell service and no wifi). The only thing that we wished the cabin had was more cooking utensils. Other than that, it was a wonderful place to stay.

We booked this property for our trip to visit Yellowstone. The cabin is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Plentiful very hot water for showers. A big deck with great views. Our kids loved having their own room up stairs with queen sized beds. The property is about half way from Cody to Yellowstone's east entrance. The road up to the property is pretty steep and can be rough. However for the price you can’t go wrong.

They stay at high point was really quite magical! The cabin is very neat and clean, and has amazing sweeping views of the mountains. We stayed here to commute back and forth to Yellowstone. We chose to enter the east entrance since that is the least frequented entrance of the park. The dirt road is quite steep and windy to get to so if you’re renting a car, make sure it’s at least some kind of SUV with AWD. If there is a quick rainstorm, the road can get slick. The cabin has no wifi and no cell service. Not a deal breaker for us, but understand how it can be for some, which is why I’m including that in the review. If you want to listen to any music be sure to download any playlists to your devices before arriving. The stars at night are breathtaking, there are plenty of glasses, mugs, plates and utensils if you decide to shop at the local grocery store for provisions. All in all we had an excellent stay here with 4 adults and were very comfortable. The only way to access the bathroom from the loft is the super cool built in ladder, or walking down the steps from the outside.

Cabin worked well for us. View was amazing! Cell signal not so good. Our trip was cut short. I would definitely revisit this cabin.

We loved the proximity to Cody and Yellowstone. We visited Yellowstone during the day and Cody for dinner each night. The house is rustic, but as advertised. A great location and a great view

Our family of 5, with 3 boys, really enjoyed our stay! The home had everything we needed to relax & enjoy our time in the area. The location was convenient for traveling to Yelllowstone & the Cody area attractions. We look forward to coming back!

This cabin was spacious, spotless, and soooo beautiful. The decor inside is just the perfect vibe for a cabin on the mountain. The views are absolutely out of this world. And who doesn't love the smell of fresh mountain air?! We also couldn't get over how pleasantly quiet it was. Perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. The loft area was also amazing and HUGE! Two queen beds and TONS of space. It was the perfect way to give the kids their own space while the parents were able to have their own with the master bedroom on the main level. There is no wi-fi here, and the cell service came in here and there, but not enough to make a call and certainly not enough to do any web-surfing. Bring along some DVD's and board games! I actually really appreciated the break from technology! The drive up the moutain to the cabin doesn't take too horribly long, but rest assured, it is NO JOKE. That drive is VERY steep. It's a dirt road with no guardrails going up the side of a mountain. The first time we made the drive we were SO nervous, but I will say that after going back down and coming back up the next day, we got a ton more comfortable with it. I also enjoyed that the drive was less than 30 minutes to Cody (PLEASE do yourself a favor and visit this town and go to the rodeo!), and it was also about 30-40 minutes to Yellowstone in the other direction. All in all, this was really such a wonderful and comfortable place to stay! I highly recommend it!
