This cabin is great! The wrap around deck is awesome for hanging out in the evenings, and the loft bedroom was super cool.

Very relaxing. Thank you for decent beds because that makes all the difference. Just fyi the second step was slippery. Looks like it cracked awhile back. A mirror near a window for the ladies. But even if you don’t address these things, I’d still stay there again. Loved the loft deck.

It was a cute cabin we did enjoy the hot tub and the cleanliness of the cabin and hot tub. We just felt it was nothing over the top and just an average stay. We also came after the ice, snow and felt that the property should have been maintained better with the porch being covered with ice and snow to get into the door and my husband actually fell down. Felt like communication about the snow and ice should have been communicated better instead of me asking and then arrive and it not just be parking issue but a issue leading into the cabin with all the snow and ice on the deck that you walk across to get in the door. Overall it was okay.

We mainly used the cabin just for sleep and eat. Cozy, clean, beautiful. Close to everything, easy to get to. Owners was super nice and made themselves available if we needed anything. We will definitely say there again if ever in the area.

When we arrived the temp was 78 in the house (85 degrees outside) and it didn't cool off until the following day. The temp dropped to into the 40's the next day and the heat was not working, it was 62 in the house. I did call and they originally brought us 3 space heaters, about 2 hours later,.but then the property maintenance man came and recalibrated the thermostat and it worked fine after that. The water pressure in the shower was very weak, that needs to be fixed. The fireplace has heat that comes out but no flames, which was a bummer, especially when the heat wasn't working. Other than that, we loved the cabin and would stay there again.

The cabin was nice inside. Appeared clean. The biggest problem was the large amount of beetle like bugs that were coming in. When waking in the morning had to sweep and after going out for the day and returning had to sweep again. The last night there they were everywhere, the floor, tv, bathroom. Not sure exactly where they were coming from. We also couldn’t figure out how to use the tv. We ended up signing into our own streaming service and using that while we were there.

The cabin was infested with hundreds of ladybugs. We cleaned up hundreds of them in the afternoon, and even a few hours later, hundreds more were on the windows and floor. Then at night we found bugs even in our sheets and had a hard time sleeping because bugs would be crawling on us. It was disgusting. I contacted the property management and sent photos and they never even responded. I want a refund!

There were some items in need of repair, I noted them and the owner was going to get them fixed. We intended to be hiking quite a bit but it was raining and my wife injured her ankle, so we had to spend most of our time in the cabin. It isn't designed to be lived in full-time. The shower has no light inside, and it is too dark to see - had to use a phone flashlight even with bathroom light on. There just aren't enough things to do in the area if you can't hike, and the cabin isn't cozy enough to be lived in full-time. But it was certainly not bad, and had we had better weather and no injury it would have been perfectly fine.

The stay was okay but there were some things that were broken and not working. When we arrived, the door handle was falling off/not fully screwed in. It took a little bit to finally figure out how to get in. It also smelled a little like pee once we got inside the property. Half the lights inside didn’t work, especially in the loft. The blinds were broken in the loft. Only half the jets in the hot tub worked as well. It was hard for two people to fully enjoy it. The hot surface light indicator on the oven was on during our entire stay. The door being broken was a big issue and we didn’t fully feel safe. After telling the property about the door when we arrived and all the issues when we leave, they just said “we hope you enjoy your stay”. No comment of we are so sorry to hear that or any other comments.

The cabin overall is secluded and nice except for the expressway nearby but that really didn’t bother us much. The biggest issue was cooking supplies. We visit the Red River Gorge to getaway. We usually cook at the cabin we rent. That was very difficult here, no baking sheets, no grill cooking utensils, scissors, spatulas, and several other things. Again, the cabin was nice but it’s not well stocked so plan ahead.

As advertised. Cabin is close to everything and not isolated, but at the same time there was enough privacy for the hot tub and to enjoy the nice deck. Steep switchback driveway, but my little Mini was able to get up when wet. Room and shower area was low lighting but manageable. Fire pit only roomy enough for the two chairs provided since it is in a corner. Only 1 set out of the 4 jets worked, but still was happy since the ones working did work extremely well and eased sore back after a day of hiking.

Inside was cute and cozy.I recommend bringing towels. We had 5 towels supplied for 3 nights- to shower and use hot tub for 4 people. We also only had 4 forks and 4 spoons for the whole stay for 4 people, so had to wash in between each meal. No washer and dryer on site.Hot tub was dirty. You can see & hear the road and neighbors when outside for hot tub and fire pit.

Cabin was very nice and clean. Could have used more towels and washcloths. There were 3 of us and only had enough towels for 2 people. We made it work. We went for a short overnight girlfriend trip. Two of three of us developed allergies while we were there. Being up in the mountains isn’t for the weak or faint of heart!! Getting up to the cabin was a challenge. It’s up the side of a mountain and is narrow. It looks like a goat path! I had a 4-wheel drive so I made it in low gear. Overall, we had a great time in the super cozy A-frame cabin on a hill!!

Our first impression of the cabin wasn’t the best, the key pad to enter didn’t work at all, so we had to call the property manager. After we got inside the cabin, we found quite literally hundreds of dead and alive Beatles lying near the back door. Cleanliness was definitely the downfall of this cabin, the rugs were dirty the upstairs was super dusty. Also to note, the deck and railings around the cabin did not feel secure whatsoever, the electrical pannel for the hot tub is also expressed to the elements which seems less than safe.

Haven at the Red was the perfect retreat for a long weekend. The space was great for the two of us. It was close to everything that we had planned. You definitely need the 4 wheel drive to get to the cabin, the road is steep. There is some minor road noise due to the proximity of the highway, but nothing that will keep you up at night.
